How to be wise

Is George Bush right about Afghanistan?

5 posts in this topic

In this video, George Bush discusses why it isn’t a good idea to leave Afghanistan. What do you guys think about this? Is Joe Biden right about the withdrawal of troops?

"Not believing your own thoughts, you’re free from the primal desire: the thought that reality should be different than it is. You realise the wordless, the unthinkable. You understand that any mystery is only what you yourself have created. In fact, there’s no mystery. Everything is as clear as day. It’s simple, because there really isn’t anything. There’s only the story appearing now. And not even that.” — Byron Katie

The country will destabilize when the us leaves.

But I don't think the us should spend billions to keep the lid on a stage red disaster scenario

Both cases are not good. That's how political decisions are. You are always choosing the lesser of two evils.

Which is why the wise move would have been for Bush to not put us into an impossible situation in the first place.

Once you've put yourself into an impossible situation, you're screwed. Which is why decision-making requires serious wisdom, which Bush seriously lacks.

Pulling out of troops from afganistan is good for america now but will it be for other countries is the question. Taliban has captured most of afganistan and in a month or two they will conquer full. Many countries have invested in projects there (partially coz of america) and all is now in mercy of taliban. Isi  is backing them and they want taliban after capturing afghan to concentrate on kashmir. India is gonna have a lot of security threats to handle not just from outside in coming years.

One of the main reasons Biden is withdrawing from Afghanistan is so that the East Turkestan Islamic Movement and other groups can build up their fighting power, and thus create more problems for China in Xinjiang.

Entering Afghanistan was obviously totally irresponsible, and same with the present withdrawal.  But this is unfortunately the predictable murikan modus operandi.
