I feel bad about watching porn

69 posts in this topic

@Leo Gura Leo, what do you see as the reason behind nofap community? It has it's excesses, right, but as I noticed, porn didn't become an addiction for you. It clearly becomes a toxic addiction for many people, even for most of the people using it. I am not talking about masturbation, but porn usage itself. And the damage that porn addiction causes can be pretty bad from what I've seen.

I guess it becomes an addiction the same way that all the other addictive things become addictions, like video games or smoking. And I guess there are some gamers who can play from time to time with no bad consequences, and there are people who literally ruin their life's potential with video games.

I think it's same with porn.

Porn will never fully satiate you.

It's true, but also for it's addictive nature. To be fair even real sex is going to satiate you for ever, but is a more rewarding experience.

I'm way more prone to find women and try to escalate to sex when I'm not watching porn or jerking off in a while, it's like my brain switch gear and became more action oriented. I use porn deliberately when I don't want to be in high energy mode, or want to limit social interaction when concentrating on something else for a longer period.

But I feel like your opinion is that porn is totally harmless and it has absolutely no consequences on brain chemistry or social relationships.

In that case I should disagree. But I'm not against it, like I'm not against some recreational drugs or junk food or other supernormal stimulus that man have created for himself, but I'm totally aware of the 'little' consequences that can build momentum I'm my brain and my body if there is no control.

What is the reason behind Alcoholics Anonymous or Weight Watchers?

Some people cannot be trusted alone with a chocolate cake. Does this mean no one can eat chocolate cake?

@Leo Gura What do you consider the core of all those addictions? I mean, the structure of a porn addict and an alcoholic should be similar, but the same people who get addicted to porn aren't addicted to some other things that other people get addicted to.

I think the reason behind all those addictions include many things, including environment, how they were raised, how they handle emotions, all the insecurities and traumas should also play major role, how they view life and their place in it in general, etc

Sure, those are all factors.

Genetics is also a major factor.

For anyone still struggling to find good RSD videos…many of the RSD paid products can be torrented for free. Most are not even hard to find.

The video courses are laid out in an intentional, comprehensive way, which I find more utility and security in than having to hunt and piece together random YouTube clips.
