Hunter Gatherer Answers Philosophical Questions

I didn't know exactly what category to put this video in on the forum. The people in the video are at such a low level of development that all their values are centered around immediate basic survival; it's very eye-opening because it shows that people at lower stages on the spiral (if that's the model you're going with) really cannot care about higher values.

When I was watching this video, I thought that we aren't much different, we still worry about things that immediately threaten our survival. Replace honey, meat and water with taxes, money, looks, jobs, etc. It gave a very simple view of how we perceive problems, albeit their problems are much more primitive and simple as that is what their survival requires.

It makes sense, though. No time to contemplate the meaning of life when you're living in the wild.

"God is not a conclusion, it is a sudden revelation. When you see a rose it is not that you go through a logical solipsism, "This is a rose, and roses are beautiful, so this must be beautiful." The moment you see it, the head stops spinning thoughts. On the contrary, your heart starts beating faster. It is something totally different from the idea of truth." -Osho

That's a good point too! We're essentially the same, just with more complicated/abstract problems from a more complicated society.
