Building Muscle = Ego?

What do you think all those tattoos are? Ego

And that dude is on HGH and steroids to look that cut.

Basically you can assume that every professional gym rat is on steroids. It's just a scam to sell you wannabes a fantasy.

Even Joe Rogan is on HGH and God knows what other drugs. It's all fake shit. The whole industry is designed to prey on insecure men's egos.

Ego. Ego. Ego. Ego. Ego. That's what these people are posing for.

They sell you these poses because you think it will make girls like you. But the truth is, deep down you hate yourself and you suck with girls for much deeper reasons.

Not sure if you are trolling, you can't possibly be that dumb and close-minded.

Tatoo = ego. Having muscles = steroids. Judgment, black and white thinking, 0 empathy, and 0 EQ to see through your own Spiritual Ego and false beliefs.

You are here to play, enjoy, have fun with your life and the character that you got.  If it's all a dream and just a game why not tatoo yourself, get jacked, etc. To sit, meditate, discipline yourself, be this sad, lonely, square-headed guy that just judges everyone around, because they are not wise and enlightened like you are? You are closing yourself to tons of knowledge and perspectives about life with being like that.

So... I was watching some porn when I look at the tattoo on the chick's shoulder and it says: God is Love.

And I just smile.

Obviously everybody here is talking from ego. Society is an amusement park for the ego. Video games, social media, tv, music, sports, joe Rogan.  All just egotism. To compete for who can get a bigger ego. Its kinda exhausting having to deal with egotism. Because it is so empty.

he eats the leanest meals you can find and he carb cycles. If you are still on carnivore diet and did 20 minutes of the right HIIT every morning you'd be impressed with how well your body tones like a fucking lion. You'll notice it within a week.

You don't need to carb cycle, or do carnivore, or do HIIT, or any of that shit, to "tone your body". Be in a caloric deficit and you will lose weight. Or be in a caloric surplus and you will gain weight. And of course, lift heavy weights on top of that.

He's a passionate person and he's very artistic. He's more creative-driven than competition-driven. If you watch the way he works out it's like an artist and it's very satisfying to watch. His business started by working out alone on a playground and he attracted students the way he worked out and made progress. He's helped the world in positive ways.

I am sure he's helped and motivated a lot of people. But at the same time, he's full of misinformation, and you don't need to be very smart to notice that. The problem here is that people will believe everything you say if you have a good physique no matter how full of BS you are.

You don't see through the bullshit. But this guy does though.

I like doing both strength and aerobic exercises combined with some stretching three times a week (I don't follow a rigid schedule anyway). I got a nice balanced body and I feel really alive while doing it. Indeed, being fit helps a lot also to face everyday activities, etc.

I think as long as you don't get obsessed with it and you don't do it just to show off, then it is fine.

Do whatever you want. Just be honest with yourself why you're doing it.

I'm not gonna play games with you guys about who is and isn't using roids. Bottom line is they can lie to you and you'd never know. I just assume every pro is using them and I'll be more right than wrong. I will certainly NOT be giving them the benefit of the doubt. They don't deserve it.

There is no way you're going to maintain that low level of body fat without extreme, unhealthy, and unsustainable measures. To suggest otherwise is highly deceptive to newbies and wannabes. You are not going to look like that, so stop even thinking about it. And the only reason you're thinking about it is because it feeds your ego.

I don't care if you build muscles. Just be honest with yourself about why you're doing it.

@Leo Gura

I didn't exercise for a year now. Year ago I exercised for like 2 months - then lockdown stopped my exercise regime. Before that I didn't exercise for 2 years (sometimes I run, do yoga, etc., but nothing too extreme). Never took roids. Never even had a trainer. Broke af self-made manlet. That's how I look:

Stop judging people just because something was impossible to achieve for you, please.

@28 cm unbuffed

And you're taking these pics not out of ego but for health reasons?

You guys are completely delusional if you don't think that these fitness gurus with no morals, integrity, wisdom or long term thinking aren't using substances like steroids. They are so easy to get and use. It would actually be extremely dumb for them not to take steroids, since they only know their ego, and their ego depends on it.

I wonder why you guys are so gullible? What do you get out of it?

@Leo Gura

Perhaps one may be doing it out of intrinsic motivation? It can be enjoyable seeing your body change and grow stronger, it's enjoyable to feel the burn you feel in your muscles as you do your resistance training.

Even if it is to boost your self-esteem, which is egoic, shouldn't we build a healthy ego? It may help to fulfil our esteem needs (on Maslow's Hierarchy)?

Dude you don't even realize that you are making everyone jealous here.:/

There are way too many insecure people on here  that are more invested in bringing others down than in their own development.

Better keep that hot picture :P for your future girlfriend.

Leo, I highly respect & love you bro, but that's just wrong. I know from personal experience.

Maybe for someone with your background where your parents fed you garbage and you grew up on video games, it's totally unrealistic, but for someone like me who did a ton of sports from an early age - swimming, football, basketball,  biking, volleyball, tennis, badminton, martial arts, long distance running, sprinting, bodybuilding, power lifting, yoga and more, it's kind of easy. (Viking genetics may also play a role :P)

Because of my past, my body is simply built differently from most people, foundationally. And I know I'm not the only one, and there's people out there with even MORE potential than me, I even know a couple of them.

I can gorge like a fucking pig daily while playing video games and smoking weed for months or perhaps even a few years and not gain an ounce of fat, I only start to lose muscle, become lazy/lethargic etc, but I barely gain ANY fat, and when I get back into fitness, I gain muscle and strength at a rate that genuinely shocks people, and even myself sometimes. It's just because I've pushed my body to its limits more times than I could possibly remember.

Sure, @28 cm unbuffed's picture screams of ego, and I have a couple of pictures like that myself (which also came from insecurity and ego), but that doesn't take away from the truth that it's possible for some people, to say otherwise is simply wrong. I agree, it's not possible for most people, but the sad truth is, "most people" are either a bundle of brittle twigs, man-pig hybrids, or a mixture of both...

@CultivateLove His body fat seems too low compared to his muscle size, without external hormones you should not be able to keep that up, especially someone with his body type.

Dudez, I've done bodybuilding. Don't bullshit me about why you're doing it. I know exactly why you're doing it. It's vanity.

But if you enjoy it, knock yourselves out.

I know a guy who has paper-thin skin, veins everywhere, like legit 7% body fat he's not muscular because he doesn't even care and his diet is horrible. There is something like genetic body fat setpoint which some outliers have very low and they can easily maintain low body fat meanwhile another guy literally can't even have normal testosterone levels below 15% bf because of his genetic setpoint

Is the guy on the left photo on steroids? Of course not, and yet he is like legit 6/7% bf easly maintainable

maxresdefault.jpg

Steroids don't actually lower one's setpoint that much.

This is 100% natural since in 1910 steroids didn't exist yet

It's GENETICS. They didn't even have bench press back then.

Among Hermann Görner's many feats of strength were the following notable lifts:

Deadlift – 360 kg (790 lb) with overhand hook grip. 380 kg (840 lb) with mixed grip.

One-handed deadlift – 330 kg (730 lb) on 8 October 1920, Leipzig, Germany

Deadlift – 270 kg (600 lb) using just two fingers of each hand

Wanting a hot girlfriend is also vanity and ego. Wanting to do better than others in career is also vanity and ego. Wanting to be rich is also vanity. Wanting to be proclaimed a guru by millions is also vanity.

The entire humanity is vanity fair.

You can make yourself look way better in a picture (good lighting, angle, picture taken after a workout). That doesn't mean he looks like that 24/7. Chris is lean and that's it. Nothing special about his muscle size. His physique is achievable naturally.
