Why You Can’t Listen to Music While You Work

11 posts in this topic

What does she mean by work? What kind of music?

I am the most creative when I write and generate ideas when I listen to music. But music that doesn't change ritam drastically and have no words in it.

We work the best when the mind is at ease. And music calms my mind.

Well crafted video!

That channel is quite nice. I liked the one about synchronisation btw.

In the comments there are many ADHD guys who can't do anything without music. But in general most people need stillness to be able to concentrate for deeper thinking.

I was addicted to music specially dance music. Music gave me a lot but it made deep thinking very hard. I am experimenting to be able to have music and be productive.

This is one of the channels I use.

The music depends on what I am doing.

If I dive deep into shadow and consciousness work, I use that one. I get excited and In flow very easily ?

But when I do concentration and meditation practice I use no music :)

I can't concentrate if I hear even the slightest of sound. It's facinating how people can be so different!

In general I am like that too but things get tricky when I am getting bored then I need something that keeps me going without getting to energetic. I don't know if music will work for me.

Or maybe I am overstimulated and have to come down more that I get used to the boredom.

@Epikur Nice! It is too slow for me hehe

Music is a good kick start, yes! Like a coffe. You need a little boost hehe

The ego doesn't like silence, especially when we do shadow work

The problem with me I am a recovering music and dancoholic. If I have upbeat music my monkey brain takes over. I am then in the stone age. Brain work becomes impossible. Additionally I might get banned from the forum because monkeys are not known to be conscious.

Here is my hard drug:

@Epikur Uu, I like that one ?

Who said that you are not a moneky now?  Haahahha!

That is the problem. I might be a monkey but I am confronted in my daily life with homo sapiens problems. Monkey mode shuts down.

Funny we are writing on the same topic in two threads.

Our nature probably is similar to dogs and monkeys. We want to play around but life needs effort to create the conditions for play.

I work both ways, with and without music. Although if I need to focus on something difficult, banging EDM works well or anything with a repetitive rhythm. Music with singing of any sort puts me off. Slow music like ambient or some classical I avoid.

All stories and explanations are false.
