What do you think about it?

I did it for a few months. I thougth that it improves my confidence, makes me more alpha, gives me deeper voice etc...

I belived in all the semen retention etc...

The problem here is that if I ejaculate through sex, isn't it the same? What if I will have sex I will ejaculate in seconds... Now that I think about it, it makes no sense... Sexologists recommend masturbation but instead listening to them, people listen to some strange people...

Yesterday I ejaculated and I felt that my voice is higher, clearer than when I didn't ejaculate (Worser in my opinion). Now I have some back pains. Maybe it's in my head...

What do you think?

The "science" in nofap is not about semen retention. It's about the dopamine release when watching porn, masturbating and ejaculating. When you watch porn frequently over a long time you release too much dopamine and deplete your dopamine storage. This is also why you need heavier and heavier material to get the same fix. If you masturbate without porn or have regular sex you don't release near the same amount of dopamine.

Is that it?

I don't watch porn anymore, so it shouldn't be a problem, right? People reported more attraction from women, more energy, deeper voice etc...

Broscience?

Think so. I'm no expert but from what i've gathered porn is the main problem. http://www.yourbrainonporn.com/your-brain-on-porn-series Has a lot of good sources if you are interested in learning more.

I agree that porn is bad...

I have seen people that do NoFap who say that NoFap solves their problems... More attraction from women, more respect from men, confidence, less anexity... Maybe it's because of the dopamine receptors...

I did full on NoFap for about 3 months last year. It was like a purging, a reboot. At the end, I started meditating and working hard every day, I quit video games and cleaned up my diet. All of that over only a few weeks.

But I started watching porn again, online once a week and no weird shit. I'm still getting all of the benefits of nofap because I'm not psychologically dependent on porn, which I think is the goal of nofap.

I'm sure many people have the same story with nofap.

I think that I won't be using porn and masturbation as soon as I get regular access to real sex with a real girl.

I have been doing nofap for 2 years now, no improvements to be honest. The one thing though, the most important insight I had from this was that...  nofap is really only the starting point here, It will not cure your problems, your anxiety, or whatever you have, it will uncover them, bring them to the surface in full light for you to work on... or not, that is if you stick with it long enough. Sure it will be uncomfortable, but are we really on this forum because we are comfortable?

nofap is AMAZING if you mix it with yogic technologies. i'd recommend kundalini yoga AND hatha yoga in parallel.

yoga is the science to use your sexual energy to transform you into an awesome human being. that's why they talk about the mystical 7 chakras. those 7 chakras symbolize the aspects of human manifestation.

  • survival
  • relationships
  • willpower
  • love & compassion
  • creativity
  • sharp intellectuality
  • transcendence capacity.

from my direct experience, i cannot imagine my life without yoga anymore.

I had a one year streak of zero porn and it was the best year of my life. I had such a clear sense of direction compared to before, it was unbelievable. I experienced the highest highs, but also the lowest lows. Then, I slowly started to watch it again. At first i was able to keep the benefits, so I didn't think it was too bad that I started doing it again. But now, I'm sorta back to where I started, struggling to keep a streak of more than 2 days. @Tancrede Pouyat i warn you, you may feel like you can handle having the porn back every once in awhile, but that is exactly what I thought. If you had a really good experience with nofap, I encourage you to NEVER watch porn under any circumstance ever again.

But what is the difference between having sex with a partner and masturbating? You ejaculate in both...

@Ariel Because you don't have to "work" for masturbating/porn. I'd recommend you watching this video

That's a good question. Maybe meanings in your head.

no. it's possible to have amazing sex without ejaculation.

and even with ejaculation, sex with a partner is the best way to practice the art of surrendering.

What i noticed during my breaks from porn is that i start seeing women as equal humans, while watching porn they were just sex objects if i am really honest and this change did a whole lot for me i could even have female platonic friends which i could not before. Btw i still masturbate just without porn also without imagining porn i just try to fantasize about real life situations with women that i really met in person and it is actually not hard at all to stay away from porn like that i did it a few times in between without losing any benefits and i started to see that porn was not as good as my fantasy because if i am real honest as a conscious being women as plain sex objects dont stay interesting for very long just when you see their personality even if it is a made up personality because you dont know them well.

I have been on nofap about a week now. I have earlier had several 1-4 week periods of no ejaculation.

I feel like shit at the moment. But i guess that is normal, when you give up some addiction.

I watched porn almost daily (at least several times a week) from maybe ages 15-26. Then from 26-29 maybe 1-2 week on average.

Im sure i have damaged myself quite a bit, but you live and learn. My plan is to never watch porn again.

I have had suicidal and rape thoughts lately. Those are not my fucking thoughts, but just thoughts. Im not suicidal or violent towards other´s.

Fapping is fun, everyone likes doing it, be honest guys :P
Doing it with a partner is even better do.

Fap ones per day, and keep ball cancer away.
Advantages, disadvantages blablabla.

Any obsession is bad. If that's porn or eating hamburgers doesn't matter.
Thats my 2 cents.

I have experimented with nofap for about a year. The longest streak I was able to sustain was about 7 weeks.

Fapping less has made me appreciate being horny. Just the feeling of being turned on by women and in general being on edge.

There is a reason why I believe that lots of people struggle with nofap or in general with masturbating. Its the compulsive urge to satisfy a desire as soon as it arises. When masturbating the desire for orgasming can basically be satisfied instantly.

The stage of being horny and desire for sex is skipped.

Nofap is useful for people that have no self control, like me a year ago. It can teach you to develop self control and become a stronger man. Enjoy the feeling of being a man, being horny and wanting to fuck every girl and the world.

However one should be careful that one doesn't guilt oneself into it. Don't deny your sexuality or feel bad for being a man. Don't let them beat you down and make you feel bad for being born as a man.

I'm at a stage now were I still masturbate occasionally, the maximum being 3 times a week. Sometimes I don't do it for 1-2 weeks without any bad feelings or issues. The less you do it the more enjoyable it is when you do.

I come from about 3-5 times a day a year ago so this is a big improvement.

Sexuality is an interesting example of the dynamics of desire and satisfying desire, emptiness of satisfying desires if you overdo it. I encourage you to investigate into the seemingly "hardwired" desire for sex and ponder on "the root of all suffering is desire".

Peace out.

It has an impact on your capacity to feel satisfaction too.

I realized that some weeks ago when I did stop porn for about 1 month, when I was surpassing myself in an activity.

I had better excitment level than before, and it was the same kind of experience.

If you think about it, what are you doing by watching porn ? Aren't you switching partner that you couldn't (probably) not have in real life ?

It isn't real yes, but your mind interpret it as a reality.

That explains why you feel less/any satisfaction anymore, because the part of your brain which is responsible for that is fucked.

I guess that also explain why depression is easier to have while watching porn.

@Ariel The stress of Nofap is on porn addiction. There are unfortunately many misinterpretations about Nofap. If you read this page https://www.nofap.com/rebooting/, it gives you a big picture of their mission.

They have three modes:

  • Hard mode in which they suggest you to abstain from porn, masturbation, and sex altogether.
  • PM mode that includes just porn and masturbation.
  • P mode that includes just porn.

There is a big difference between ejaculation via sex and masturbation.

This is my take away from Nofap, if the brain is desynthesized because of porn or excessive masturbation, then it's very logical if the person abstains from porn and masturbation for a while. Also, it has been shown that porn does have very negative impact on brain. Thus, I think it is healthy if a person does abstain from porn forever. Of course, there is no need to suppress or moralize about it. The point is that if we become more conscious, we realize it is just waste of time.
