How much sex does a man need to be healthy?

18 posts in this topic

Hello guys! I'm trying to get rid off my porn addiction and I want to stop my sexual life for 30 days. A lot of my friends say that it's unhealthy and I should masturbate or have sex at least couple times a week if I want to be healthy. Is that true? Please educate me :)

Zero.

It is energy thing. I had an intimate conversation which released whole trapped energy. It was super satysfying. I didn't have any urges for a week after that. It isn't purely physiological thing as we are often said.

The thing is that you somehow have to handle your sexual energy. How you do it is up to you .

Zero.

A man or a woman are healthy even without sex.

They are people who choose to be celibate and there is nothing wrong with them

Sex itself doesn't make us healthy or unhealthy but it's how we deal with it.

If you practice sex in ways that makes you psychologically addicted that's unhealthy.

If you repress it too much, then it's unhealthy.

But if you are busy with your career and not bothered about sex,  you're not doing anything unhealthy.

Also sex is not necessary to release sexual energy. Masturbation exists.

Trips on Zero. Also, getting rid of addiction is a tough mindset and path, as the focus is on avoidance (of the addiction).  Much much easier and more successful to focus on what you do want and be filled with the inspiration of it, than the resistance of avoiding something.

Two different chicks everyday.

It depends on how we define health.

Jering off isn't bad lol the porn addiction is, I bet you can't jerk off without watching any porn. Try to go on a porn detox for a week and see how you feel

But masturbation doesn’t give me as much pleasure as sex. At the same time I know that there is must be a balance. Maybe once a week is enough ?

I try to concentrate on my career and hobbies, but i still have a strong desire to have sex.  I’ve tried to repress it, it doesn’t help. When I didn’t jerk off for 10 days I was crazy. I couldn’t concentrate, I felt so needy to get a girl, so I relapsed and fall back into porn

I just don’t want to have problems with my health because of avoiding sex. I don’t want to chase women not anymore. I’ve been doing that for years

@Vlad_ It will probably decrease your overall health if you avoid sex and masturbation entirely. If you want optimal performance, you gotta find the proper balance for you. Repression won't work. I've tried it for years and failed. Sex drive is a fundamental part of the human nature. But sometimes it goes overboard.

Do or do not, there is no try.

Been there? Many times.

Truth is though, you need to be able to sustain the effort for longer than 10 days if you're going to be successful. Try 30 days without porn, you'll calm down. Or maybe you are just not ready. Or maybe you don't really want this. And that's okay too.

In any case, recognize that people's opinions on things are self-serving and biased. Regular porn users will tell you that it's healthy and necessary. Coffee drinkers will tell you about the antioxidants, not about the accelerated aging and anxiety. Crack smokers will tell you that crack helps you get shit done.

@Vlad_

First of all, ignore women giving you any advice on this topic. They don't have the first clue about how it is to be a man and their opions and beliefs are purely imagination.

My advice would be decrease the amount of times you masturbate. Ejaculation releases  oxytocin which serves to 'calm you down sexually' it's a testosterone buffer which is why we often go limp after busting a nut. Woman will naturally sense your lower T-levels, essentially decreasing your sexual viability. Also, you may find it useful to channel this sexual energy into something productive (workout ect.)

Now, if you masturbate regularly you are probably addicted to it which means it's going to be a bitch to defeat. Stay as aware as possible of your sex drive, and stay conscious of when your about to 'relapse'. The less you masturbate, the more power you're going to have
