To reduce suffering, basically.

It's not a soccer game. It isn't about winning or making extraordinary achievements.

I'll answer that when I "become" enlightened.

I have the impression that If there is still suffering then it's not a full awakening.

Fully awakened people who can meditate because they feel bliss when they do. There is no goal behind the meditation.

They are in a deeply meditative state on a regular basis.  Meditation is about quieting the mind.  Just because someone isn't sitting in full lotus with eye's closed does not mean they aren't meditating.

Meditation isn't something that you're doing.  Meditation is the awareness of what is. And awareness isn't something that you're doing, is it?

It even says it: "being aware", not "doing aware".

Meditation (as something that you are) and and enlightenment are identical.

We should really have a Common Questions thread featured. These kind of questions are always asked. Its kind of tedious.

Good idea. And a "solipsism questions not allowed" policy hahaxD

You only want to meditate either for sake of calmness, or you are practising something that requires being in the trance state of mind.

Solipsism could be a part of the featured thread. I definitely think its a legit question. I still havent figured that one out yet, I for sure know that I am the only one with access to my thoughts but thats where I get stuck. xD

To deepen the connection, to explore the unknown dimension and for joy and Love.

I am in a point that meditation is one of the funniest activities in my day. Who imagined it would be this way 5 year ago?

By my definition of enlightenment, it is a tiny proportion of people, and even they don't fully meet the standard, because they are still human. Enlightenment means "to be filled with light", which is the dissolving of every attachment, and perpetually being unconditional love.

If what you are asking is why awakened people meditate, it is primarily because the practice strengthens their spiritual discipline, and makes it easier to swim upstream, against the current of their conditioned mind. Waking up is only the first step in the soul journey back to our unconditioned Self.

Just because God loves you doesn't mean it is going to shape the cosmos to suit you. God loves you so much that it will shape you to suit the cosmos.

Yes, not 100% of them of course

Point is to increase the power of mindfulness, unify the mind to experience less craving/aversion and more joy, love and rapture
