Corona virus gift's

29 posts in this topic

The period that is Corona virus times has brought me so many profound gifts. One e.g., showing me the places in which I need to heal and grow. As a result of this I begun sessions of EMDR which I can only describe as 'gift' like. The majority of the most profound gifts come disguised as pain and suffering, this is something else I have come to learn.

My question to you is, what has / is Corona virus brought for you? ❤️

A new vision for the future.

One that is exciting and terrifying at the same time.

A pretty chill study life. I can do all my homework and study at my PC, I'm much more productive here at home, still can hold contact with my fellow students via zoom. And, I don't have to go outside that much in winter now (especially in the morning when it's still dark outside).

On top of that, at my job as a student assistant I got highly overpaid, since at the beginning of the pandemic with start of online studying nobody really knew how to do it properly. I had very less work to do but still got the full salary paid. My brother experienced similar things. We really don't notice anything about the difficult economic situation, due to the pandemic we are doing better financially than before (without any social benefits or the like).

That our society constantly sits on a knife edge. It makes me grateful to have what we have already. But Corona has made it obvious that society could change very quickly for the better if the will is there. We just need the right people and the right focus.

All stories and explanations are false.

Transformation, healing and change of priorities. I benefited from this happening and even though i lost some things like a comfortable job it was worth it. If not for corona my health would go downhill but now it's not. Of course it's something awful and almost everyone wishes that this whole thing never happened but i actually wished that something like this would happen to take a fucking break. There is always something good hidden in something bad.

Definitely helped me identify some areas in my life where I was doing things that were not serving my emotional and mental health. It taught me to slow down and savour the process. I think thanks to Covid I was able to set up my clinic earlier than I would have if I was bound to the office environment for 9 hours a day, very grateful for that.

Also saved up hundreds of pounds by not having to take overpriced London transport so that's nice :D

@Charlotte Since March, my life changed completely. Unlike most people, this coronavirus time was very enjoyable. There was almost no suffering for the past year. I discovered new things, and am now pursuing things that I wouldn’t have discovered thanks to lockdown.

"Not believing your own thoughts, you’re free from the primal desire: the thought that reality should be different than it is. You realise the wordless, the unthinkable. You understand that any mystery is only what you yourself have created. In fact, there’s no mystery. Everything is as clear as day. It’s simple, because there really isn’t anything. There’s only the story appearing now. And not even that.” — Byron Katie

The pandemic made me return to my home country and move back in with my parents which was very painful and confusing but finally provide me with the opportunity to reconnect to my family and finally face BS and take my meditation to the next level. It was the most profound transformation in my life so far.

Nothing really changed besides the lockdown giving me some incredibly persistent and annoying stomach problems that I’m unable to properly diagnose and heal.

I'll be honest, in a petty and egoic (and almost slightly glad) way it made me feel better about not doing a lot this past year and avoiding my goals, because a lot of people are in the same boat.

Though it's probably more of a curse now because it's just more ammo to beat myself up with.
