Brain Is Where Thought Comes From?

15 posts in this topic

Well.... If you hit a persons head.... He might lose his memory.... If something goes wrong in the physical brain, for example Alzheimer's... Then how could we not say that the brain is the source of all thoughts.... But we can't prove that the brain is what makes thoughts... Cause that is our thoughts. The Brain is just a picture we see in our eyes. And we believe that is where thought comes from but no....... I don't buy into that.

In the assumption that thought does not come from the brain. But when we get hit in the head.... Why do our minds get Weirded up?

we have no experience of the brain, if you are mindful of thoughts arising and falling, they come from no were. but of course thoughts will come up with all sort of explanations for were thoughts come from.

Yeah..... It's really scary. Where do they come from.... It's like a world where it's near us.... But we're so so so unbelievably blind to it. It feels like everything really do... Happen for a reason. Coincidence and luck is not real?

Have you come to a conclusion for this question?

yes, to the only conclusion that you have to find for yourself, as it cannot be communicated. :)

Take the play of Romeo and Juliet. Is it ultimately true that their love for each other caused them to kill themselves? Obviously not. Why not? Well, because it's just a play. If anything caused that to happen, it was (for example) the money being paid by guests (or just something going on in real life) which in turn caused actors to pretend to be characters which then kill themselves in the play (story) -- but to make the forthcoming analogy more accurate, let's say there is only the play... meaning of course that nothing caused their deaths because the only cause was the money; preparation; real life and we've just established there is no real life in this example simply because there is only the play. Okay? Alright then:

Their love is not really a cause of their suicide -- but it is a cause in the play (story) only. In the same way, getting hit in the head is not really a cause of the mind getting "weirded up" -- but it is a cause in the story only.

Though there isn't something other than the appearance of the story -- no hidden process "making it all work" -- the story still has no actuality. Causality is only apparent, not actual -- everything is only apparent, not actual. The infinite has no needs -- such as the requirement of actuality.

The image of the brain is how the finite mind appears as a perception in the finite mind. So it is entirely reasonable that you can affect the mind by messing with it's appearance in the perceptive faculties.

The brain is not the source of thoughts. Only Consciousness can create the possibility for thought to arise within it. The brain is just the image of how this possibility comes about in human form.

Remember: perceptions are always indirect and can only reflect what is.

The thoughts are nothing more than you talking to yourself because you are afraid of being alone. You've been depending on others your whole life to live, if they leave you alone, you will pee and poop. so you talk to yourself and you talk to yourself to give yourself the feeling that mommy takes care of you (and me, i can't stop neither). That is the whole mystery
