I realize that there is so much to understand, and this prevents from me from doing that.

There's nothing that needs to be done.

Just don't be surprised when they ask you for $100 to attend their satsang ?

❤I just meant there's nothing wrong with admiring spiritual teachers or placing them on a pedestal. Sometimes it's just what the doctor ordered.

Sometimes the middle path is a good option.

Listening with all your attention and simultaneously not fully buying into anything.... radically open minded and simultaneously grounded.

I feel if I would have been raised with Native Americans 400 years ago I would have been that awkward child that dabbled in everything. Hunter, gatherer, fire starter, cooker, teepee builder, foot massager, security lookout, horse trainer, initiation specialist, warrior.

But never landing in one position or the other... Walking The Razor's Edge.

Everyone and everything you encounter is your spiritual Teacher, and it's all just as admirable as your favorite teacher.

do you tend to idolize people in general? That could be a sign you are developing some type of narcissism.

i think maybe i should put spiritual teachers more on a pedestal :P

i'm always critical and searching for flaws and think they might want to lie to me or scam me

for example i'm not sure if i believe Eckhart Tolle's "origin story"

but i learned a lot from him so i do love and respect him

Recognizing & understanding limiting beliefs of  ‘separate selves’’ is expansive, not preventative.

There is nothing to understand, much to let go of, and there is no opposition, no opposing force, no one stopping you but, “your self”. Go within rather than going without.

Eventually one realizes all their wisdom is just right here, right now, all the time and you start looking to the infinite to bring you wisdom and guidances, the same place they got their wisdom from.

You can do whatever you want.

The question is what should you do about it? And the answer is it doesn't matter.

Realize that anything that can be placed on a pedestal is not real.

Just because God loves you doesn't mean it is going to shape the cosmos to suit you. God loves you so much that it will shape you to suit the cosmos.

@saif2 I'd say forget all the memory, name and acts of that spiritual teacher when you listen to them. Only keep the teachings in mind. You gotta see that the teaching isn't attached to the teacher. HOWEVER, it is better to know about the teacher, and if you can be conscious enough to not put them up on the pedestal, knowing about the teacher can help you see where he/she is coming from.
