Is there any hope for lessening the amount of moralization in society?

Every time I see people harassing others and moralizing to them telling them what they should be doing with their lives and what they shouldn’t be doing. I explain to people that they’re moralizing and people treat me like I’m the epitome of evil. I feel like it’s a lost cause to explain this to people. What can be done about this problem?
