A moment of Silence for 9/11

Let's hold a moment of silence to honor the victims of one of the worst tragedies in human history, those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

A remembrance prayer for the precious lives lost and their family members that continue to heal.

On the anniversary of September 11, 2001, we once again call on your spirit that is within us to help us deepen our response to our commitment to non-violence.  We are so aware of the fear and violence that continues to permeate our world since 9/11.  As we pray in remembrance of that tragic day, help us also to be people of hope who embrace a belief that a new vision is possible.  Empower us to shape a world marked by ways of life that lead to justice and peace. Fashion in us a people who are more ready to grow in understanding than eager to judge those who are different from us. Form us, a people determined to heal wounds rather than inflict them. Give us today the strength and courage to transform the compassion of our hearts into acts of peace, mercy and justice.

More people died of Covid in the last 2 weeks than on 9/11.

People have this weird fixation with terrorist attacks.

What people believe could or should have been prevented is haunting to them. Applies to COVID just as well.

Now that’s perspective.

That definitely leads to overpopulation. Evil wins.

That's a perspective based in our current society that isn't conscious enough to support larger populations. There definitely are enough recourses on this planet to support populations larger than here are now if humanity wishes to work together and create a system that supports it.

You're wrong about it. The earth is not equipped to deal with such large populations. That is a huge myth that people hold on to. Look up NASA's research on how water resources are rapidly depleting due to overuse.

We have already depleted the fishes in the oceans by extreme fishing. In another decade, fish is going to be a rare commodity. This is scientific research.

The earth cannot take more than a few billions. We have already far exceeded it.

We are continuously using natural resources that are needed to serve an extremely large population.

And people in overpopulated countries are living in flood zones, avalanche zones and earthquake prone areas, there is massive deforestation to make room for large corporations and real estate

This is nothing but human greed and exploitation of the planet.

This will cost us dearly one day. And everyone will pay the price.

You have the privilege to live in a sparsely populated country so you don't know the horrors of over population.

Come and live in my country and you will get exhausted just traveling by buses and trains. The crowds will drive you insane. You will have to wait hours to see a doctor even during an emergency. Huge masses of people are unemployed.

When I went for a job interview few years ago, 3000 people were standing in a long queue for 1 job position.

Prices of real estate are sky high and you never find a place to rent, if you ever do, it's usually a squalid little room and you have to live in crammed spaces huddled into buildings like a wartime living situation.

Men here who rent places here  are living 3 in one room with bunk beds and no privacy. It's like jail unless you are super rich to afford a room all for yourself.

I know the horrors of overpopulation. Large number of suicides by unemployed youth that never gets reported by the media because the media cares too much about celebrities.

The air looks thick with purple blue smoke and smell of petroleum because there are a million cars on the roads and constant traffic means it takes me 1 hour by car to reach a place that will take only 10 minutes to reach by foot.

Life becomes a living nightmare and you see people everywhere and so much crowd and chaos, it drives you mad with stress.

Large number of people suffering stress as a result of dealing with huge populations everyday and it goes on like a cycle.

Where's is the space to live? People climb on top of each other on trains to get some space.

Buildings are built on top of each other and they collapse.

So many car crashes every day means a huge number of handicapped and disabled victims of accidents

Women don't get a place in the hospitals to deliver children so they do premature deliveries by induced labor to hurry up the deliveries of babies.

Overpopulation is a nightmare.

You don't know it because you don't live it.

Yea in a way, those children are saved from the horrors of the world and a lifetime of nightmares.

Definitely puts a different perspective.

Terrorist attacks are very impactful and this was the most one in history, with the planes crashing, towers falling, and everything. Numbers may not entirely justify the fixation, but the event itself will never be forgotten in our living time and beyond. I hate that it's used to promote more violence and wars though.
