A prostitute can have the heart of a nun, but a nun can never have the heart of a prostitute, or maybe she could but then that would make her a hypocrite. Looks are deceiving.

Yeah but they still involve themselves in low consciousness activities which will destroy them sooner or later. But I agree, there are some really enlightened folks in the porn industry as well, although they're suck on the carnal/material pleasures level. Some people need to become demons and walk through hell in order to become pure. What matters is the result, not the path imo.

@Rasheed Thanks! Ditto. I appreciate your open-mindedness.

A prostitute doesn't realize shit. She's completely lost and unconscious. Which is why she's a prostitute and not a nun.

@Gesundheit @Rilles  You can watch ted talks on youtube by prostitutes, they actually pick their clients, which is understandable from my pov though.

@commie  There was a study done in the former Czechoslovakia about this. Czechoslovakia (Czechia and Slovakia as for today) used to be a communist state under a heavy Russian influence with high levels of censorship, therefore there was very little porn available for Czech and Slovak men. After the communist era was over (1990s and on), the censorship became basically non-existent and internet porn has also been available in Czechia and Slovakia since then. The sexual assault rates are now, according to the Czech police, about 40 % lower than they used to be.

So porn isn't pure evil for humanity, it has some positive effects too, although there is this thing with the porn industry contributing to a lot of corruption and devilry behind the scenes of it including rape and sex trafficing... So I wonder what a better, pragmatic solution would be.

@docs20 Thanks for the video.

@bejapuskas Thanks for the info.

I had arrived at these same conclusions solely from my own observations. And these information represent more proof for me. It's all coming together right now. Observation is a superpower I should say!

Also just to add one more observation here:

I think that radical open-mindedness requires a component of empathy which happens to be present more in females than in males. Notice that in this thread the ladies were generally more understanding and accepting regarding this issue as opposed to males who were generally conservatives and judgemental. I think this has to do with levels of emotional intelligence that are generally higher in females than in males. It seems like most women are more connected with their essence and therefore can empathize easier than most men. They seem to be more able than men to intuit what and how life feels like in other people's shoes. That contributes to radical open-mindedness since it gives the ability of jumping between different, and opposing perspectives. This is an incredible trait that a lot of men should be working on improving.

Godspeed for everyone! And have a good one!

The difference is that they would not feel shame or fear of judgement. Regardless of the actual risks, they have little to almost no ego regarding other people's opinions.

I’m curious what you are basing your imaginations on. To me stating that prostitutes have no fear walking the streets and that they feel no shame, fear of judgement sounds naive. Do you have any prostitute friends? Have you volunteered in shelters for prostitutes or done research on the psychology of prostitution? I would predict that social workers and psychologists that work with prostitutes may have very different impressions.

This is basically like a Leo's video about spirituality :D

This is awesome. This guy seems to be much more conscious than 95% of the people I know, even though he is homeless, never went to school etc.

It's not clear what you're replying to (did I say anything about porn? or are you saying that watching porn is like having sex?) but that study (or at least your recollection of it) sounds like BS since rates of assault, murder and so forth fell in many countries incl. the USA in that timeframe.

@commie  Sorry, it was probably an error. I am not saying porn is like having sex, but I was assuming it has a similar effect as prostitution. Why would it be bs? In that time frame, internet became available in many countries, most likely together with porn, so if porn really has this influence on society, then it only makes sense that there numbers decreased not only in one country. The fall of the communist era and censorship was probably just another related event, that accidentally happened at a similar time, but I don't think it was the only cause of this.

That's simply not how you establish cause and effect. Look up "cherry picking" for instance.

We have granular enough data to test that particular hypothesis... and it seems obvious that it can't explain most of the changes in crime rates. But do tell if you've found a way to make it work.

A nun could be more depraved than a prostitute. Prostitutes may face humility and aggression everyday, so they're trained to handle these emotions better since they're used to it. Being spiritual from a couch and in a safe environment is always easy. And who are we to judge these people? Their wounds are way deeper than you can imagine, and I can bet that you would be in their place, you would jump in front of a train to end up your suffering. As for the fear or shame, lol... when you take drugs you don't feel fear or shame?
