Is that the brand you have?

Yup

It looks like a good option for someone that wants some home protection, yet doesn’t want to have a gun in the house.

Yup, that's why I got it. Didn't want a gun.

It says “no license required in most states”. Are there background checks? Or is it as easy as purchasing online?

Just order online and you're good in most states. They ship it to your door in 5 days. A couple of states don't allow it, like Hawaii I think. But most don't care.

You can't tase all of us. I say, the next time Leo becomes a cop and attacks unarmed black people, we should throw a riot in his house. "No please."

I got a razor sharp katana waiting for ya ;)

I don't need a taser. I'm okay with my little pepper spray in my purse.

;)

@Leo Gura Could I use it against the damn squirrels gnawing away at my house?

My brother had squirrels roosting in his attic. Need to set traps. They have non-lethal ones.

Each taser shot costs $10.

An AirSoft gun would be perfect for squirrels.

@Leo Gura Ok, so I’m considering getting the taser for the lil’ ole lady down the street ?

How quickly can you get shots off? Let’s say an intruder enters and I miss. . .  Or two intruders enter. . .

Havahart traps work well for small animals.

I don't understand how someone can argue that a sick human being in need of love & care deserve to be shot...

...But what if the opposite is true?

@Serotoninluv  Lmao you guys have a problem with squirrels.

While I sit here impatiently waiting for a squirrel to show up at my window.

They are the cutest and funniest creatures in the world.

I would welcome them in my home.

Sadly they are difficult to catch.

I would pet a squirrel.

And you're thinking about tasing a squirrel. Too bad..

Squirrels are lovely.

They have wised up to my traps. I’ve caught about 30 squirrels in my attic with Havaharts over the last couple years. . .

Part of the problem is there is a huge tree near my house that drops nuts. But the tree is mostly in my neighbors property and it is an absolutely beautiful tree. I don’t want to cut it down.

Great discussion about how hard is to be a cop from a guy that knows how to train and to act in high pressure situations.

Yea, lovely from a distance. They are chewing apart the wires and wooden beams in my house. This creates an electrical fire hazard and can cause a structural collapse.

My Green mojo turns to Red and I would taze them without hesitation.

You'll sing a different tune once they gnaw a hole in your roof.

My brother had to spend a few thousand dollars to repair it.

Maybe they have high frequency noise makers you could plug into a socket up there.

About the same speed as swapping a mag in a pistol.

They have more expensive models which can fire 2 shots before reloading. But that's overkill. The laser sight alone should be enough to spook most people away.

And if you miss, you can still always taze point blank.

Yea, from the perspective of the robbers they want an easy target and would likely move on.

Yet it sounds like if you gotta fire, you fire to hit. Rather than a warning shot.

With a taser, for sure.

I think you are underestimating how prevalent guns are in America. They are all over.

I probably am but I still think that if we can look at statistics that show how likely people are to shoot at a cop issuing a traffic ticket, how likely is a gun to save an officer’s life if someone does pull out a gun, how many innocent lives police’s guns take, and how many officer’s they save, we might come to a different conclusion than yours. But countries other than the USA should consider disarming some tiers of the police.

It seems the argument that citizens should have the right to bear arms to protect against a tyrannical government falls apart if the government is reacting to citizens bearing arms by equipping itself with even more arms. For example having every police officer with a gun in reaction to every citizen with a gun. A better strategy would be to put a cap on the militarization of both the government and the citizens.

I support that strategy. I’d like to see demilitarization of both government and citizens. For example, ban assault weapons and start shifting toward having tasers for personal protection.

@Serotoninluv

“Police and citizens in the US:

Citizens: we have the right to bear arms in case a tyrannical government tries to control us

Police: we need to militarize to protect ourselves because citizens are armed

Citizens: police are militarizing, the government wants to control us. we need less gun control, not more

Police: we need more funding for more guns because citizens have fire power equal to us

And its a revolving door in America”

This group has so many great ideas.  Leo is really helping to stimulate minds, but what are we doing about it?  What are some real solutions?  Can a forum like this take some real action besides just talking about it?  I guess we can just keep arguing about it, meh....
