How can I cure my spiritual nihilism?

28 posts in this topic

I feel like I'm becoming more of a spiritual nihilist the more I watch Leo. I quit pursuing my master's degree program because I couldn't shake off the feeling of nihilism I had from Leo's teachings. Suddenly everything had no meaning or value including my life and I started self-sabotaging too much to the point of where I could no longer take it. Strangely enough, I don't feel anything anymore as though suffering does not exist. Even when my professor told me in an email I have been expelled for not doing any homework assignments or attending online lectures, I literally did not react to the news with any kind of emotion because nothing matters anymore. What the fuck is wrong with me?

It’d be helpful if you could describe that feeling as much as you can.

@Nahm It is the feeling that I am perfect just the way I am because I'm god and I don't need to improve or work on anything. I'm fully accepting and loving of myself and everything around me so there's no point in struggling through life because it is all relative to how we see things at the end of the day.

Think of love and positivity and the present moment and you'll be back to being and feeling normal.

This happens on the spiritual path.

Have to tiptoe the balance rope.

Agree with the above. Without love, life is dull and meaningless. With love, life is still meaningless but beautiful.

You can see life as meaningless and pointless, but awakening to love makes life vibrant and you're still able to do those things. More from a free perspective though.

That include “struggle”?  I mean, I hear ya, but...any inspiration arising for any new or next pursuit? Any interests, passions?

When your mind has run into a nihilistic desert, the key is to awaken to Love. As you progress on the path this Love/Completeness will be the driver of your life.

@Meta-Man How exactly will Love/Completeness be the driver of my life when I don't feel like my life should go anywhere? Sure I could love infinitely all I want, but that's not real progress. It is more or less complacency. The motivation arises when there's an urge to change something you're not satisfied with. This urge is not gonna come from Love. Well, I'm not sure but you get the point.

@Nahm Yeah life is a struggle as the Buddha said. I'm a jack of all trades but master of none. Ultimately there comes a point when the pursuit becomes meaningless, monotonous and devoid of any joy.

It might just be a state of detachment/numbness as a result of being exposed to non-dual theory.

Yup. ^

This is not a path. There is no right or wrong. Doing your homework or not doing your homework is equally as meaningless. Meaninglessness, nothing, yada yada becomes concepts when a seeker hears them, it is bound to happen. See this as an invitation to do your homework if you want to or don't, neither is right or wrong.

I experienced almost same situation with you. And start to meditate for 4 hours a day. I realize that staying in meditative state completes me. I am here to do just that (if i dont live with people). Because, daily life wasn’t enough for me even i am god. Now I realized that only purpose or life can be living with love, if you cant love, You cant leave, because I believe you dont feel anything from daily activities. I suggest you to meditate non stop, you will get your answer. Because if i cant love, there is nothing to do here for me anymore. I will just go and meditate.

@Conscientious Anon what is your spiritual practices?

If you just watch Leo without doing the actual work then no surprise for me.

What a dream, what a joke, love it   :x

Easiest way to automatically bypass like 100 traps (like falling into depression etc) is to not believe anything Leo says. Accept it as a hypothesis to be proven or disproven ♥️

This sounds more like an energetic/vibrational shift than nihilism.

Wouldn't be chillin too much in nihilism land. It can be fruitful if you make the jump to see intrinsic value in life. Focus on Love.

Don't believe anything Leo says unless you've experienced some form of higher consciousness state; direct experience will clear the fog.

Yes nothing matters. You are free to do anything you want, but if that is something you repeat to yourself to not do the "hard" things in life, to just do what you feel like doing, then there is more to realize.

If nothing matters it doesn't matter what you feel either. This might be a opportunityto explore what is true for you.

@Conscientious Anon Doesn't sound to be me like you're actually awake but that you have turned spirituality into a nihilistic belief system -- which is not at all awakening.

What is it that you're actually become conscious of on your own (never mind my teachings)?

You are God. You are Love. You are Infinity. You are Leo.

The father of a child accepts the child's imperfection but also teaches him to improve himself.
God is imperfect.
So be a father to yourself,
Accept the child but not everything the child does, resume the improvements

Being is bliss. Unpleasant emotions tend to arise when we allow the mind to run amok.

Just do more of the practices. Be kind, gentle, forgiving, and easy with yourself.

Turns out, nothing mattering is the best thing ever.
