Impossible to figure out health problems? Help!

5 posts in this topic

Recently (past 4 months) I've had tons of health problems that seems to be coming from nowhere. I've been to every doctor I can think of, experimented in tons of ways to get rid of my symptoms and nothing works. All of the doctors said I was fine, I went to a pulmonologist, cardiologist, PCP, watched tons of videos trying to explain everything, and nothing works.

My primary symptoms are:

Shortness of breath, itching, joint weakness

I do live a relatively sedentary lifestyle and have been working for about a month on it by making changes to my diet and exercise routine, but again, nothing is changing.

I don't like the idea of taking drugs to solve medical problems unless absolutely necessary and I'm unsure on how to figure out what my issue is. Does anyone have any idea how to help me?

I am not sure and I've no medical expertise so my advice is that of a layman, and as such it should be taken with a grain of salt.

I think the symptoms indicate to me that there is some sort of inflammation in the body or a type of inflammatory condition.

I'd say try different supplements. A deficiency can also be responsible for joint pain.

Do you drink enough water through the day?

Dryness can cause skin irritation and itching. Sometimes even lack of sunshine if you are always in a room with little ventilation.

Maybe the breathing issue is not related to the joint pain and irritation. Sometimes health problems can manifest as a cluster of unrelated symptoms arising from two different causes at the same time.

Vitamin D deficiency. You will need a blood test for this.. To Rule it out.

I'll try to keep a watch on these specific symptoms and see if I can get more info. If I get I will let you know.

@Preety_India Yes I think it's an inflammatory condition as well. I'm working on a solve by getting a certain amount of sun per day and changing my diet around. I took a blood test and everything came back normal except for a slightly low globulin level which the doctor said was almost certainly nothing. My body just seems to be prone to inflammation without a common cause because we tested for autoimmune and nothing came up. Thyroid is good and heart is good. I got diagnosed with asthma for the breathing problem but the medication hasn't helped much. I have tried albuterol and montelukast. There is a naturopathic doctor named andrew wiel who came up with an anti-inflammatory smoothie that im going to try as well as some other foods. I don't want to get cortisol shots or surgery because apparently they don't take the problem away permanently and steroids can weaken your immune system which I don't want during Covid.

@Dylan Page   more often than not a set of unspecified symptoms that don't match any disease could be a sign of digestive upset. Perhaps increased gut permeability or dysbiosis. How is your digestion overall? Do you get constipated/diarrhoea? Bloated? Acne? Rapid mood changes? rashes? Any itching or white tongue?

What was your CRP on the testing? Were your leukocytes ok?

Did they test Rheumatoid Factor for RA?

Any chance you could be coeliac?

Do you recall your thyroid levels?

Has your Cortisol (HPA-Axis) been checked?

I'm a medical student.

From what I see here, which is of course not much in this post (meaning not too many info) it sound like it might belong to one or more of this categories. I'll put them in the order which seems more likely by just reading this. Unfortunatly you have symptoms that might be correlated with really half of what you might study in a medical text-book, so that's why you are having problems having a diagnosis, but don't give up, be a bit patient and by seeing other specialists you should get to a conclusion
- rheumatological and immunological issue: go see either a rheumatologist or an immunologist or both
- Lyme disease
- check out of haematological diseases, just to be sure you're healthy on that: like lymphomas and leukemias
- psychosomathic - but please leave this when you've consulted enough specialists that say that you seem to be healthy in their domain of expertise
- other like gut problems or neurological problems
