No, it's not worth it. It still a good documentary since most society still see psychedelics as something extremely dangerous and reckless, but the documentary depicts a use still very recreational. You won't find "How did I used LSD to Awaken".

Well, let me just rehash my own comment from an earlier thread:

Watched it couple of days ago; it's a nice piece of infotainment that was obviously made with the intention of giving stoners some funny and colorful shit to watch while they're high. Just don't expect any mind blowing insights from this!

(I don't regret having watched it though)

Just the sight that it has a lot of popular people in it talking about how they randomly did acid is just stupid IMO. This movie is just popcorn and cola material, nothing more.

@danilofaria This is a dreadful program. I turned it off half way through it was a painful watch of people who have no fucking idea what so ever. Actual idiots when it comes to the use of psychedelics. Serious materialistic paradigm going on with these people. It’s a terrible advert for psychedelics but then it’s mainstream so what’s to be expected other than what it is. It’s half the reason why the general population have literally no chance of ever waking up

Lol, I can see why some folks who consider themselves serious psychonauts would get triggered by this "documentary". Even though I sort of enjoyed watching it (I just took it for what it is, i.e. giddy and gaudy entertainment), I am still actually pissed about the fact that the only guys I knew back in school who did psychedelics were complete and utter morons. Had I known about the true potential of these divine substances when I was young, the life that I have been living for the past twenty years would probably have been a vastly different one!

Well, better late than never I guess.

What a bastardisation of this powerful medicine. It pretty much appears as a deluded sit com producing humour at the expense of a psychedelic. If anything this will create more ignorance in those already consumed by it and represent precisely what a psychedelic is not.

This is what you call business co-opting any ego rampant opportunity to increase profit.

@Jacobsrw I am sorry nobody liked that movie, I do not take psychedelics, how would I know?. I thought it was fun to watch, for me anyway....to have at least some idea how it is like... I didn’t mean to hurt those who are into this work.
p.s. anti commercial is also commercial ?

even to make some statements they did is already something for our mainstream. Perhaps, we will be more open-minded about psychedelics in the future , however the changes won’t happen over night. If you ever came across cognitive distortions, you know that for the society to accept something it should go in particular order, stages...

Now, we probably make jokes about it, laugh about it, but it is still better than denying it for sure. It is slowly percolating in our minds somehow....

Not long ago same sex marriages were heavily denied and condemned, and guess what? Our society came to the stage where we ultimately have accepted it.

So give it a time!

At least through such movies this idea is slowly assimilating in our society.  I believe soon enough we will discover more healing properties of psychedelics.

@Galyna Yes. It's still good that psychedelics are becoming "mainstream" accepted . By no means it's bad news.

If you haven’t taken them, what I said is likely to go straight over your head. Psychedelics are not for romanticising about fantastical phenomena. It’s about facilitating deep inner work. That documentary is merely even a documentary. It’s a typical reality show sit com using desirable public figures with no more sense on the matter than an inanimate rock.

Also I don’t see it at all comical. That completely undermines the usability of a psychedelic. When done correctly, they will decimate everything idea you hold dear and purify ignorance. No laughing matter.

Mindlessly conversing about an important topic is not the same as using it powerfully. People at this level understanding will be no closer to awakening than if they sit back eating chips on the couch.

I disagree with your statement. That’s a false equivalency. Commercialisation is completely dependent on the manner in which it is done. One who chooses not to commercialise is not operating within the same medium.

It wasn't so bad in my opinion. Obviously it wasn't made for hardcore spirituality crowds, but that doesn't mean that "oh no, they corrupted the holy psychedelics, these people didn't even deserve to use them, yada-yada".

It's a lightweight stuff for the average netflix user. It's great at that and it's sort of informative. At least, it doesn't demonize the use of these drugs. That's a start.

It didn’t demonise them it instead mocked them. It may as well of mocked them since every moron and his donkey will now be persuaded to mindlessly use them and incite the very sanctioned bans that restricted them to begin with.

They were first banned for dangerous recreational use and those whom become deceived by this obfuscating view of them will only abuse them.

Its far more serious than the money hungry corporates at Netflix could ever intuit.

You are preaching to the choir, my friend....I do not have anything, nor I ever had, against psychedelics and deep work, in fact I might try it at some point in my life.

That is what you and others do on this forum 24/7...sorry to break it for it.

You missed my point, my friend. I totally agree with you, I said it was slowly percolating in people's mind...that can already do the wonder, whether you are aware of it or not...I would recommend studying cognitive distortions to understand my point better.

I do not want to be rude, but it feels like you hold an absolute romantic view about how things should be. Well guess what? It is not going to work like this, we live in a reality where various opinions, dogmas and web of beliefs collide with each other. What you are saying is ideal but far from reality. Go talk about it with my math teacher and see what he will reply back to you. OR go to my local church (Nashville, TN) and preach about the powerful use of psychedelics here and see what happens. These people do not even trust science, all they know is a "word of God from Bible".

Again, you have to understand that on the subconscious level (and sorry for using dualistic language) your psyche does not differentiate between such categories as negative vs. positive, + or -! So anti commercial would work on the same premise. You are adding more weight to it by just speculating about ideas.
