The Future Trends Of Psychedelics & Self-Development

Hello everyone!

I decided to reflect on what will be the trends in the future, when Psychedelics will become more relevant and generally accepted, especially in the field of Self-Development.

I assume that in the near future the following areas will develop strongly:

• Psychedelics for sale
• Selling kits for growing and possibly even self-synthesizing psychedelics
• Sale of test kits
• Sale of supplements and nootropics - for example, a can of packaged capsules for microdosing
• Psychotherapy using MDMA, LSD and Psilocybin to work with injuries, serious dysfunctions and mental health, work with terminally ill, depression, bipolar disorder, disability, family therapy, etc. (already available now in some places)
• Transpersonal psychology - therapy of birth trauma, work with information from a past life and karma - I do not understand the subject of transpersonal psychology very well, but, it is work on a holistic, metaphysical level, which takes into account much more complex and metaphysical flows and structures, than traditional therapy and coaching do
• Coaching on microdosing and full-fledged doses of psychedelics: life coaching, self-efficacy and productivity coaching, relationship coaching, nutrition coaching, sports coaching, life purpose coaching, creativity coaching, self-esteem coaching
• Psychedelic tourism - already popular right now
• Spiral Dynamics + Psychedelics: help in the transition from orange to green, from green to yellow, etc.
• Psychedelics + Epistemology: Helping to people trapped in ideologies, paradigms and dogmas - perhaps this will be something like the therapy recommended by therapists or an effective way to integrate into society people who moved, for example, from Blue / Orange to Green / Yellow country. I can imagine an ad: "Do you want to quickly integrate into the work team and know how to approach the green babes - take the course on releasing the Orange and embody Green / Yellow RIGHT NOW!"
• VR + Psychedelics - games, films, educational materials, porn
• Courses on the use of psychedelics and microdosing (already appearing now)
• Assistance in integration and preparation for a psychedelic trip (already available now)
• A variety of competitions in which the use of psychedelics will be a prerequisite
• A reality show in which people with obesity / severe addictions go through psychedelic therapy
• Trainings and Seminars about self-love, deep communication, intimacy, sex and soft-skills development on psychedelics
• Hackathons for programmers using psychedelics to create projects
• Serious retreat centers for spiritual seekers
• Transformation centers, sanatoriums for people who want to make a significant change in identity in 2-3-4 months
• Restorative sanatoriums with psychedelic therapy for war veterans, employees with burnout, housewives, police officers, firefighters, manufactory workers and high-risk jobs employees 
• Solo or even Group Expeditions / Explorers and Travelers of Consciousness are pioneers like Magillan and Jacques Yves Cousteau
• Online educational programs involving the mandatory use of psychedelics during work or homework
• Epistemology courses with mandatory use of psychedelics for verification and practice of theories and concepts studied
• The development of the genre of psychedelic music / film / painting / theater
• Consultants and teams to solve complex system problems using psychedelics in their work for in-depth analysis and solutions
• Work with prison inmates

 

It is interesting that what will be needed most of all, what infrastructures will be needed in order to qualitatively implement these works?

• Committees, non-profit and commercial organizations and educational institutions that give people quality education and licensing for the use of psychedelics. • Online platform for selling psychedelics and related services such as iHerb

Also there is an interesting questions to answer: What will happen next? What will be relevant when all this appears? What will be a new breakthrough in the industry of psychedelics, self-development, spirituality, awareness?

@Ar_Senses I have thought about future trends of Psychedelics but no way to this much extent..man you really did some solid brain-storming there. Yeah we can connect, I have similar interests.

I think all these things are gonna take much more time than you think. First what needs to happen is legalization.

• For that we need more and more people like Leo who spread awareness and proper usage of these substances. What needs to happen is shift of perspective among the people so that we don't hold Psychedelics in the same category of drugs like opioids and others.
• Recently released documentary- "Have a good trip: Adventures in Psychedelics" on Netflix is a good watch for some beginner who knows nothing about it. Hearing the take of celebrities,leaders,artists, & musicians inspire people to explore the substances more than anything.  "The Goop Lab" is another series which talks about it in one episode. We need such kind of things more.
• Research is the most important factor of all, I think there should be a proper dedicated institute which is dedicated only to this, study and research of Psychedelics in every field not just mental health. Yeah MAPS is one of those, we need more like it and much diversified. 
• After legalization, huge amount of funding from the big companies for Psychedelic businesses to flourish.

Not just in these industries, in every field we can see new breakthroughs especially in science.

Psychology will change drastically as Stan Grof mentioned in his works.

In education sector, Students will be given 5 Meo before they pass high school. Psychedelics will be taught as basic compulsory subject in schools. 

Stigma will die but there are high chances that these substances will be abused even more, so proper laws regarding that must be built. There can be a license system and restrictions to do it in parties and public areas. 

But there's so much factors for all this to work. Huge systemic changes are required.

@Leo Gura we would love to have your take on possibilities and solutions in future of Psychedelic use.

You've failed to mention the enormous amount of resistance, demonetization, and backlash that will inevitably occur due to ignorance. Psychs are encouraged and embraced now because it's still sort of an underground thing - but if it breaks into the mainstream too quickly, expect a war.

Just be careful from the legal perspective. It's one thing to consume psychedelics personally, it's a whole nother ballgame to create a business out of it. Make sure you're not putting yourself into legal jeopardy.

Psychedelics will be a legal quagmire for decades to come, so be careful.

You're brainstorming the very cutting edge. The problem is that it might take several decades before some of that stuff become viable. Seizing on trends is tricky business because you don't want to be too late, but you also don't want to be too early. You need to time it just right.

If you could predict what will happen next, you could become a millionaire or a billionaire. But if your predictions are wrong, you could end up broke or in jail.

The future for psychedelics is enormous. But just how long it will take for that flower to bloom, I don't know. It might take awhile. Maybe late in our lifetime it will happen.

I've started trying myself as a coach 1.5 years ago and I really liked this medium and already making a decent income from that. For the most part, my specifics right now is to help the green young guys and girls add a little more structure to their lives and begin to become aware of the processes at the meta level.

My plan is to move to the Netherlands, get a master's degree in psychology and get a legal opportunity to use psychedelics in working with clients. Most of all I want to work with leaders - my vision is to help leaders become yellow and turquoise, so that they can provide very high-quality transformations in the world. I'm not so much interested in working with traumas and dysfunctions than working with actualization and transcendence (transpersonal psychology) with the help of my work and psychedelics. Qualitative development and transformation of identity.

I really like the image of the sanatorium, in which strong leaders come in order to "refresh" or learn something or work on further development in a spiral. However, I am not a team player at all and I don’t really like the image of owning a big business and workers. The approach of the lone master is closer to me.

The biggest obstacle that currently stands in front of me is that I need to start attract an income for myself, with which I can save money for education and moving to the Netherlands, in addition to ensuring monthly expenses. To do this, I need to establish a flow of customers and create additional products that can be sold in parallel with consultations (online courses, webinars, etc.).

Now I think a lot about coming up with some elegant way to marketing my services on the Internet. One of my main strengths is humor and playfulness. The other four are spirituality, perspective wisdom, optimism and future-mindedness, love of learning. Besides spirituality and abstract thinking I am very good at using my sense of humor (in my opinion it's the sub-skill from the abstract thinking) while working with clients and, in general, in life.

Also, to be honest, it'll be a lie for me to say that I'm waking up highly motivated right now, because I'm trying to find my own, original, inspiring and innovative niche. As you can see, there is a tendency among forum participants to become a psychotherapist using psychedelics, a shaman, a psychonaut, etc. 

I'm really thinking about the integration of the Humor + Self-dev, not as a comic. but as a humorous self-dev master.

@Ar_Senses Overall it is great brainstorming idea. However, I sense a huge wishful thinking.  For each bullet point the major question I would ask would be how would this be corrupted by existing egos, collective egos, belief systems and ideologies?  Even now there is a huge division within the so called "Psychedelics Community".

There are encouraging signs that Psychedelics will be more relevant and generally accepted. Nevertheless, there will also be inherent problems that will make your Utopian Psychedelic environment to take centuries before they are realized. Wishing you the best!
