@electroBeam

Participation is required in order to join for after-experiment party :) (And coffee is not on the menu)

Today was the first step into my caffeine detox. Dropped from 4 cups of coffee and green tea to 2 cups of coffee and green tea, didnt notice any ill effects.

Tomorrow Im gonna drop to 1 cup of coffee for few days, after that I will throw coffee out completely and start to drop out green tea during a period of ~3-4 days.

@LfcCharlie4 what is your goal? To stop caffeine for good or it's just a break?

I'm interested in the idea of a detox. Not sure if I'd honestly be able to keep up my workload without caffeine. . .

@electroBeam Actually I’ve decided you don’t meet the requirements to join ;)

@Hansu sounds awesome.

@herghly Sack it off completely, it was interfering with my sleep, and I don’t want to be dependent on a chemical for work, I tried to downplay it but it also made me incredibly tired on weekends as I gave myself a break. I’m after lying term sustainable energy from a natural lifestyle.

Yeah, I thought that, try cutting it down slowly, I came off coffee a few months ago and switched to Green Tea, and then came off that slowly last week.

First few days I had a shitty headache, but now I feel 90% normal, I wasn’t a heavy addict like Alex Becker etc though.

I usually use caffeine as part of my detox.

But if you are taking a tolerance break from caffeine get your greens in, especially algae.

@LfcCharlie4 Do you use any other substances like modafinil?

I thought caffeine (within moderation) is healthy? Maybe I will try switching to black and green tea.

@herghly I do WHM and Cold showers every morning, regarding other substances no, I just eat really really healthy and aim to get my sleep in.

Going forward the only time I drink caffeine will be after drinking the next morning along with “Morning DTox” pills you help me function the next day!

ive been working like 10 hours today and feel pretty good, nowhere near as bad as I thought I’d be.

Im also gonna quit porn to help boost energy further, and fast everyday until 11-12, but tomorrow is until 3PM as it’s a 24 hour fast- the first ever without caffeine!

Lol, our brains are such a sneaky things

Haven't been drinking sodas for a year now, but here I am drinking Coca Cola Zero which apparently has about 2 cups of caffeine in 1 liter :D

@LfcCharlie4 Interesting. I want to slowly take away caffeine and other stimulants.  Occasionally I use modafinil and I find it useful for work and meditation practices. But not sure if its something i will keep

A power nap, 15-20 minutes, is worth more than caffeine. In addition to meditation it should give us enough energy for the day, presumably our diet is in order. Doing 2 of these naps and our main sleep hours should drop naturally. Polyphasic sleeping schedule is an upgrade to the contemporary mainstream one.

@blowfish I did some googling and sounds interesting, just would not be for me at this time.

For example if you go out with friends you can’t just have a nap in the club at 1am lol, but I’m glad it’s working for you :)

@electroBeam Listen, it's not easy to talk with a mouth full of water.

@LfcCharlie4

If you had a few too many, then it's possible to nap in the club. Let me expand like the universe then. Polyphasic sleep, especially the hardcore schedules, take time to adapt and might not work well with some daily routines. A power nap in addition to the regular sleeping schedule though, would benefit everyone I think. You can google all the benefits of it, I won't list it here, too lazy. You don't really need to schedule these naps either, they work just like coffee, you take them when you need an energy boost. Sometimes I feel like I had a great full night sleep after a nap, after couples hours if decreases and lasts about 4-5 hours. I see naps more as a reset, if you have some concentration required tasks ahead of you and feel somewhat exhausted it recharges you and and kinda resets your day. Compared to substances like coffee etc. it's an intrinsic and not addictive way get energy, that doesn't fuck with your nervous system like stimulants. Try it out and see for yourself if it helps you. Especially if you are doing a caffeine detox.

@blowfish thank you, so is this the 20 minute binaural beats thing fitness guys go on about?

@LfcCharlie4 I don't really know what they go on about. You can very well listen to binaural beats with the right frequency, just like you can during normal sleep. It's just a simple power nap. Maybe you will have a hard time falling asleep at first, what I like to do is use it as a lying meditation with the purpose of falling asleep. If you don't fall asleep, it will be a simple 20 minutes relaxation meditation, if you fall asleep even better. Both serves as a reset and energy boost.
