I don't like names of this strenghts from VIA test...What to do about it?

8 posts in this topic

I took VIA strength assesment to identify my top 5 strength. I identified them. They feel authenthic. I just have one issue:

I don't like the words, which this test uses, tehse words are:

  • Hope
  • Self-Regulation
  • Zest

Is it benefitial to change the names? If that's the case, what are other synonyms to change the with? Do you guys have the same problem?

You can change them to whatever labels you resonate with, as long as it stays true to the original meaning.

You can use a thesaurus.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

Interesting test, I've taken it too. Mine were:

1) Perspective

2) Social Intelligence

3) Hope

Perspective

How would you define perspective? Got it too but I can't grasp it.

Guys, I used thesaurus, and here is what I got

Hope = Optimism

Self-Regulation = Self-Discipline

Zest = Enthusiasm

I resonate with these labels more. Thanks for the feedback.

Perspective means, being open minded. Being able to hold different perspectives and not being dogmatic.

I know what it means for me, at least. It means being able to distance from a view and examine it "from afar." A subject becomes an object. Perspective for me means stage Yellow.
