election 2020 israel, what would you choose?

17 posts in this topic

@TheSomeBody can you explain a little bit i‘m not really getting the situation completely. it depends on the proposals - for example if the left party does not have solutions up their sleeves i would probably vote for another party. in my country we have a green party for example which is really good. it also depends on your political system. in comparison voting for green in the usa will probably be counterproductive in usa presidential election this year - because these votes would maybe make the difference.

so in general i would try to vote for the one who makes the most sense to vote for at the current situation who will be able to make it or if it’s also about government i also think a strong opposition is very important. unfortunately we live in times where we might have to rather think in more short termed solutions. what changes can we make now.

would be interesting if you could tell a little bit about the parties.

it is not really the left party. some of them are "left" . we mix lots of foreign concepts in israel.

the situation is problematic. the zionist left is having a hard time. the licud (with the corrupt bibi) having a replacement party "white and blue" which have no real solution, economic speking they are allitle bit socialist and secular, other than that they dont have any much saying.

you have some religues parties ( like shas) which they care about mostly taking money for religues purpeses but the are pro socialist because their population mostly poor.

you have the yamina which is less religues and more care about the compelet israel and shit like that

you have the joint list which i am considering vote for . two arab parties with really different idioligies hadash is a communist party and they are for equal rights and peace. balad which is really confusing so i dont have much to say about them, some times they like hadash and sometimes they like the "islamic" yamina (yamina is jewish)

don’t get it, didn’t you vote last year? how did you vote then? the conservative right will probably not move much, so if you jump from the more left to the more more left the conservative right will probably win in this case...maybe not if it is just you.

i voted to the labor party.

because of the corruption of bibi i guess the licud will be weaker.

i dont really know what is the right way, i have some values that hadash have most of them.

there isnt russian parties anymore , israel beiteinu is  kinda russian party but now the are  allitle mainstream

there is no hadash, only the joint list with balad which i am not happy to vote

how complex is your political landscape... i guess it’s really difficult because religion is so much intertwined with politics. i would vote for the one with the most interest in trying to separate political issues from religious ones as much as possible. i still believe in values like separation from church and state and see them as basics for conscious politics. i know this is never really the case as people are religious and it plays into politics in a sense always but i would probably therefore vote for the blue-white party on a first glance. because i guess it’s important to establish an alternative to corruption. they might not be really left more centrist but at least they are secular, what makes them in a political sense more left than they might seem on the first glance.

more secularization will not rob people of their religion or culture it can’t but it will give a chance in minimizing ideological and religious fights. secularisation is like the teacher in the room while the class writes a test.

i realize that mentioning alternatives could be confusing what is a colour in one country’s politics sometimes is not the same colour in another country’s politics - so never look at the parties colour alone look also at their spiral colour

although i find the standpoint towards the trump deal very difficult - how can someone try to fight against corruption in the own country and then accepting corrupted deals from abroad? i‘m really not seeing through in this case.

it’s not possible to end a war with an unilateral agreement with a backing country - the end of a war has to be made at the frontline. just creating a boarder with a winner takes all mentality is not only in one case comparable with the horrific no centimeter situation of the first world war, be it verdun or versailles.

it is ok to accept the generosity from the partner but then, you somehow also have to make a deal with the other partner...is israel able to grow up with that new party? that’s the question i would put into the scales.

we don’t want to talk to them because they have shot at us is the most creative excuse i‘ve ever heard of a warfaring country.

i dont know what they will do. they might have to go with religues party if they wont be big enough.

also they dont have really opinion , i dont really know what they will do

i dont think that any deal will be good for them. they are have lots of corruption and terror inside, strategy speaking this region is really crucial for israel and they have lots of important sites for the jews like abraham tomb.

one country will be the best but not aparthaid

@TheSomeBody i‘m not sure if having an opinion is always the best choice, in sense of self biases. sometimes it’s maybe better to not have an oppinion but wait until a problem shows up and then trying to find a solution. in that sense i guess the blue-white are kind of interesting, not making too many promises they then maybe can’t keep up to. at the moment they try to make a change of course all energy goes into that, they target the one problem which is the biggest for now. i guess it’s not a bad strategy. what to talk about what happens after, if the situation is that problematic - it’s very strategic what benny gantz does in a sense. you can’t look away because he is standing in the now completely.

very instresting opinion

but they have 4 Chief of Staff (if i say it right in english, it is the highest rank in the idf) . what they have done in gaza is really problamatic for me. i dont know if they run now because they want to be more brutal to gaza or less , they dont show it .

@TheSomeBody actually because there are chief of staff i would think that it’s interesting - they must have had enough. yes probably not the intuitive choice to trust more into military officials than into politicians. but israel has a very unique history. i guess these people know best out of direct experience. usually military does what the head commands, if the head is corrupted what could military do?

but i don’t know, you have to look into it for yourself - maybe it’s the opposite of what i am thinking and they all just plot something - probably together. have to be careful now or i get thrown out of the forum.

 no conspiracy theories!!! i was just joking - i think they genuinely have had  enough of that kind of politics, they want change. not saying that they then wouldn’t also act with military in war situations, but maybe trying to find more sustainable solutions.
