An amazing video: How life in Cuba actually looks like.

Socialism doesn't suck. Sweden is much better than the US for living standards.

Socialism sucks IF your country is corrupt. It doesn't suck if it's not.

Capitalism sucks whether your country is corrupt or not.

If Cuba proves that socialism sucks, what about Africa? One of the most capitalist continents on the planet? What's worse? Africa or Cuba(I've been to both, it's definitely Africa without a doubt).

What about Brazil? Brazil's living standards are worse than Cuba! And it's more capitalist than the US! Mexico, another capitalist country, much worse than Cuba.

This argument is very stupid. Cuba is poor because of corruption, got nothing to do with socialism.

Socialism is the only way to live a harmonious society. Tantric yogis use to live in socialist societies. Hunter gatherers lived in socialist societies.

"maybe the socialists in America should take a short trip... come here and say they want this"

Maybe the libertarian idiots in the video should take a short trip to Somalia and say they want this.

Is this channel paid by fox news? What stupidity is this?

mhhh how to say, trade embargo messes up the data doesn’t it. i visited cuba in 2003 i didn’t find it very much different to what i saw in some southeast asian countries or what i saw in other south american countries or what you would see in africa except of the trading problems - although i met people from other south american countries to study medicine there. and yes they made everything pretty for tourism as it’s one of the economic sources for the country. there was of course always things at odds like gay rights and such but that’s usually more right wing mentality isn’t it?

and just watching the vid and asking myself how dumb is this please taking a drone with you when you go to cuba from the us ??

these guys are so ?

real trump mentality: am i part of the problem? no of course not.

and by the way there is a difference between socialism and social democracy (as it was for example called in west germany - while they had socialism in east germany, even happened at the same time) ((is this candid camera, actually i have been to the us and i really don’t know))

these guys are in general fascinating as they call themselves turning point - well yeah they are talking like neo nazis in germany do. these guys don’t know what freedom is, because they never really had to fight for it. and the moment they have to they whine like little girls who dropped their lollipop.

orange confronted with beige situation. system overload error error error biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip

Sweden is NOT a socialist country, neither is any of the other nordic states.  Neither was West-Germany.  East-Germany was under a totaliterian dictatorship, controlled by a bigger totaliterian dicatorship under the guise of being communists.  That still didn't make them socialists or communists.  Look through the propaganda, please.

I've been a west african city called Yaoundé and it probably has better infrastructure than havana, cuba and more civilized in some aspects like ALWAYS having fresh food at supermarkets with bodyscanners and guards with guns. cuba cannot even compete with an african country. gas stations are everywhere too.

I think it was interesting to learn about how people live in Cuba.  I felt sorry for them because I would not want to live in this way.  The partial truth in this video can be how essential basic rights are to build a function community and how government corruption can filter into the rest of society like police knocking down your door.

The part I was less interested in was the capitalist propaganda.  They seemed to eager to jump to the conclusion that socialism is terrible.  I then noticed the nice sounding words about how we wanted this in America combined with a sad piano to appeal to emotions in order to persuade me.  I think this libertarian perspective is too simplistic and prone to making over generalizations about socialism.

come mr tally man, tally me banana!

of course cuba is a country with almost no industry except tourism. all they export is luxury goods. and of course cuban politics is in many ways blue and sometimes maybe red. and infrastructure mhhh, what to say, they need some more industry to produce themselves what everyone else is importing. and one of the things they would really need are architects and paint - to live in healthy homes. what they probably don’t need is investors who push them out of their homes to live in huts, (or help them renovate with asbestos).

one of the most amazing parts about cuba are indeed the people! i could walk down the malecon at night and didn’t have to fear getting shot or raped or being robbed - of course that’s because the punishment is high for that but it’s also because something is indeed going „social“ there, despite all things that are not so nice. but hey when i went to the us i could have been shot or raped at every corner. cause everyone can live free here.

@remember that was an interesting video.  The Cuban population seem to contradict themselves wildly when it comes to Cuban immigration vs. Mexican immigrants.  It seems like shocking hypocrisy at first, but if we apply spiral dynamics we can explain this.  Trump being a reddish orange is within the range of the Cuban immigrants who are strongly nationalist, a common quality of stage blue.  The arguments and positions remain irrational because it does not depend on logic, but rather the level of cognitive development.  Another interesting video could be about why Mexican immigrants often prefer Democrat so we can contrast these groups of immigrants.

@trenton the paradox with the mexican voters is at one hand probably that they want to spare their people from leaving everything behind just to try to come to the us and then maybe have to go back having spent a lot of money, or everything they own. another point probably is that they fear their own people most in sense of a threat to their work places and in sense of a threat of more illegals make the discrimination rise. although all of that is complete bullshit, because those who fall into this trap then vote for trump who will make their life more difficult, because the discrimination through that will rise to another level. don’t underestimate how conservative and blue/purple south americans are, they love family but are often very catholic. even though the pope set a clear sign, especially in case of brazil.

what if the us would need a wall to keep conservative voters away - that’s a real paradoxical thought. but one that would make me think about the dynamics and self feeding loop of this fear and safety zone game. understanding that walls will not make anything better is one of the points which needs to be understood. also pulling that wall money card now after years of centimeter work is just political scheming, i would not trust in that.

although i guess a lot of south american descendants in the us are aware of that game and won’t play into it.
