Forum Hierarchy

As for the colors, to my knowledge it could be how the forum software works, maybe the colors can be turned off but you don't have to place anyone in higher importance because they are a moderator.

I didn't say you have to. You don't have to anything, but there is a subconscious tendency that people do that and my question is why not reduce that tendency to zero?

In my opinion, it's a useful system, because this work is so full of traps and paradoxes... I remember that it happened many times, that someone who was clearly spiritually mature but didn't have a green name, wasn't taken seriously and people didn't recognize it, until they've eventually become a moderator - then people finally listened to what they had to say and I think it made a positive change... But that's just my perspective.

This is exactly what I'm trying to warn against. There is this spiral-dynamics hierarchy in place and everyone is striving and taking everything from "higher" people. There are no higher people, and spiral dynamics is just a damn precise, useful model that was never supposed to replace any kind of hierarchies.

If we turn off the colors for moderators we need to turn off the avatars and nicknames, since some nicknames and avatars can be catchy for the eyes, subconsciously you read... xD

Now you're just making a point that's not really a point and kind of avoids the "issue" I'm trying to address with this thread. But I don't see what would be wrong we that either though..

@Leo Gura However, sometimes I also find the green names distracting. I'd prefer if the mods had a way to mark certain posts where they exercise their moderation power - like locking a thread or issuing a warning to the debating parties - and otherwise wouldn't stand out that much.

That's a pretty good proposal, thanks.

avoids the "issue"

this is the best we all can do & guess what all the forums around and my own conditioned messy, don't really feel like the forum is really working for me, colors are "oneness"

@petar8p Right, I wasn't implying that you thought you had to. But you could argue you are using your critical thinking faculties even more by actively not doing so despite the subconscious tendency to do so(if you get that). Just like society, there are going to be people in places of hierarchy who have a badge or a license or degree/credential, which definitely affects other peoples subconscious, but you have to use your own critical thinking not to value them more just because of that.

@petar8p right, was more like a joke, or good idea for the startup ;)

Probably, any customization on the forum implies Leo contacting the managing firm and paying some money. So, this is too much for Leo, I guess :D

Software which runs this forum is not perfect. But I am grateful to have such resource, so many amazing people here. ❤️

@petar8p BTW I am pretty sure if you are surfing through the desktop you can install browser extension and apply custom css rules. So, you can make Leo to be pink for example. ?

I think this is also possible but it will require writing the browser extension.

I think the OP has a point. He/she is trying to reduce the hierarchical bias to zero, or at least somewhere near it. He/she is not denying the hierarchy itself.

And definitely the "start your own forum" answer is a huge misunderstanding and a huge fallacy. Can't you simply read the lines? The OP is giving an honest feedback, hoping for it to be taken seriously and to be considered by the administrator and moderators without self-bias.

Seriously, have some flexibility, just because you own the place doesn't mean it can't be improved.

To me that's a non-issue. Focus on your growth instead of bickering about minusa. Nobody is holding or forcing you to do or think anything here. This forum is a nice resource not the end all be all.

There are just some things that don't work if you are serious about living a more enjoyable life. If somebody advised you to go eat every meal at MacDonalds and watch porn for an hour every day, would you seriously question their opinion or just go away? I mean, if you didn't have any sense of hierarchy in your mind, your head will explode from so much mental mess. Some people just aren't worth listening to. Also there is the influence of hipocrisy, people, who give advice to others, just for the sake of giving advice, without actually living their words, that's the worst for them and those who listen to them and it definitely happens on here on this forum, even though less and less. That's my point.

The mods are in green because they care about the environment.  Not sure why Leo is red.

I still don't see what's your point. Care to be more direct?

@petar8p  I mean, some people are just so deluded, that they would listen to almost any bullshit ideology and it's a real thing. I remember when this Reeves guy used to be a thing on this forum, I would justify his opinions and stuff and Leo and others had to delete my content, because it was corrupted with selfishness. Then I had a lot of inner conflict to see where I was going wrong, because it seemed to work just fine on paper... I had to really trust the „higher people“ (higher person for me is someone who lives a happier life than I do, I don't care what colour are you as long as everything works for you well) and kind of go in a direction that I saw no meaning in, but then it turned out to be the right way and I am happy I did it :) Does that make more sense?

No, I don't see what feedback are you trying to provide with what I said. You don't have to share it through the story or whatever, it's ok to be really brutally honest and direct with me, I actually prefer that over anything else :P

Excellent answer. Let me add: start your life purpose. You could control what goes on there. You could balance that with your audience and society.

there is a reason why this forum is popular and there is a reason why people hang here discussing and reading and commenting - and the advice you are giving is pretty cool. does the same account for moderators? i know i`m stretching it hard for you because of course you are a moderator and even though the critique might not account for you, what is true about it and what not, you might somehow feel it as you still get triggered a little bit, don`t you? it`s a position where most people give their best, isn`t it? does that change that some people do almost the same without having or wanting that position? so is the reason why you get triggered the green colour?

(sorry to address you, you are the one available representative in this thread, i mean green is definitely a group ego thing as orange is, too. is orange group ego? maybe a loose tied one)

Yes, of course. The answer is yes. Thanks for asking. I said that not because of "power," but because of communicating effectively. For example, when I say these: McDonald's, Toyota, Honda, Lamborghini, Starbucks, Google, IBM, etc. You know what I'm talking about, right? This is what I call extremely effective communication. I did not even have to explain what they are, and you know exactly what they are. But then, they're at stage orange.

If you say: Eckhart Tolle, Shinzen Young, Leo Gura, Thich Nhat Hanh, you will probably know who I'm talking about because we do talk about these ppl sometimes. Not everyone knows them in society because they didn't market orange. Correct? What about you? What about me? What message are we going to send to the world? We have the opportunity to have our life purpose be a mixture of orange to turquoise. Orange being a base and turquoise being the top of the pyrimid. By orange, I mean healthy orange.

Life purpose is a vehicle to self-actualization and enlightenment. Depends on how well you do it.

However, when the word enlightenment is said, most ppl don't know what it is. How are you going to get this message across in your life purpose?

A life purpose is about effective communication, not about whether I'm a green mod or not. This is not the purpose of the forum. Ask yourself, "what am I really doing here?" I'm not just talking about you, @remember:) I'm talking about everyone. And you know that this whole thing, including the forum, is Leo's life purpose, right?

@petar8p Problems only exist if we look for them.  Im just happy that there is a forum for people to learn from each other and share ideas.
