You are in fact conscious, but your idea of "everything" is imaginary, and so you are looking for it outside of actuality. (There's nothing "outside" of it.)

There can be different layers to this question:

On the one hand, you identify with your whole body, yet you don't experience every single cell or muscle etc...

On the other hand, just because it is said to be so does not actually make it so. In other words, this whole 'you are everything' thing may be just a perspective to help you move out of the materialist paradigm. It does not necessarily have to be true.

Or maybe your ideas of what everything is like or how you are conscious of it are irrelevant.

Just my thoughts.

you ( @assx95 ) are not aware of everything. Only of assx's relative/finite experience.

YOU (awareness) is not asking this question in this thread.

you (assx) are asking this question in your mis-understanding that you (assx) are everything... you are just assx.

 

The awareness behind assx is everything and is Aware of Everything.

 

When YOU go from being (identified as) assx to simply being ("identified" as) awareness, this question of yours will not be asked.

Because You tricked yourself.  And you fell for it ?

You splintered yourself into an infinite number of finite beings in order to experience yourself.  Infinity already is itself so it must limit itself and create a sense of separation in order to know itself.    Ultimately you will merge back into Infinity which is what you are fundamentally.   And this process will repeat for eternity because there is no where else to go.

Only YOU ( Awareness ) are aware of the entire body. YOU are the ENTIRE BODY / EVERYTHING.

The Hand hears this message and thinks IT is the entire body - and as a result, asks such questions.

The Hand can only be aware of the Hand... not the foot or the kick in the balls. Only YOU can!

 

What's funny is that it's never really the Hand which talks/asks...

The Hand is more like a puppet... YOU assume the Hand to be YOU and talk via/as it.

Stop being the Hand and YOU will see that YOU were always aware of everything.

You are conflating *you and You* as well as *consciousness and Consciousness*.

The term "conscious" is often used in the context of personal awareness. For example, "I am conscious of the pain in my shoulder, yet I am not conscious of what Vladimir Putin is thinking". This is the common usage we are all conditioned with. 

Consciousness is a term to point to the transcendent You that is Everything. 

So your question becomes "Why am i not conscious of Consciousness?". . . Because you have not awakened to You. . .

@assx95 You are one with everything and also paradoxically separate at the same time. This seems to trip a lot of people up.
