There is nothing in this world for me to do

6 posts in this topic

I have not interests that compel me enough to center them around a life purpose.

I have no useful skills with the exception of what I went to school for (Information Tech) and I have absolutely no passion for that. I get paid good money from it but its drained my soul

All the skills I would like to learn would take decades for me to master much less monitize from them

Finally my soul has disintegrated to such an extent that I have no desire or fuel to learn something new

In this profit driven society I am conditioned to believe if it doesn't make money it isn't worth it.

Despite all this I still want to live a passionate life. Anyone else been in this situation before?

Yes, I am a trained IT engineer, and it does seem pointless. Of course it is so why wouldn't I notice. I only find any real satisfaction from helping others now. You could learn QHHT in a weekend and start a whole new life. I started to volunteer a lot and in general I help those around me see through issues to solutions.

Screw IT, move to India, find a reason to live that excites you. Go work on a cruise ship, see the world. There are many options that don't require decades to do. I learned to be a Reiki master in 2 months and I could have done it in a week if needed.

You control your desires. Follow one somewhere, you can always come back to this.

Play well my friend

Would you rather make lots of money while hating your life and living for the weekend, or do something you love and enjoy your life but make less money?

My advice is to make a list of ALL your options. Pick the one(s) that seem the best and go with it. Your path will become more clear as you walk it. And don't be afraid to "waste" your time trying things out to find your real passion!

You need to calm down. You're projecting the void you're staring into! If you stare into a dark void long enough, you become the void yourself. This could easily describe your severely negative mindset you are clinging to.

You gotta let yourself be happy, and like Will Smith said, just keep trying new things. You're already on your way, with money in your pocket from your job. If you need an interest and new direction, here are links to several sites which list plenty of hobbies and ideas you can choose from. You could even make a business from your hobby too!

Just promise yourself that you won't give up trying to find a way, because if you persevere in this quest to find what happiness and what your real interests in life are, then you've accomplished wonders. And then, you'll be on the way to accomplishing more in your life, counting every small victory, letting it be the precedent of your life. You've certainly come to the right forum for this. Leo Gura is man of great enlightenment. His videos provide great insight, they will help. Check out his start page with all of the main videos of his channel for insight of the topics regarding your problems, or perhaps looking it up directly on his youtube channel. Chances are, he's probably done a video on some of the problems you have. Here's a link if you're too under pressure to find it. https://www.actualized.org/start

And his youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/ActualizedOrg

As for those lists, here they are:

Also, check out these great personality tests that help you see who you are and what your passions might be. The Myerrs Briggs Test, The Big Five, and the Sokanu Career test are all great tests as far as to my understanding. Try experimenting with the others as you please.

You could also try looking at your natal astrological chart, if you are open to spiritual enlighenment in this way, seeing how the stars and planets were aligned during the time of your birth, and how it affects you. Make sure to get down the exact time and date to get the most accurate results.

I wish you well. If you still are lost, and feel like you're aimless and frustrated, I'd recommend a mentor, and maybe counseling, or psychological help. There's no shame in finding fresh persepctive from a professional.

@Torch_Lighter369 Great detailed answer, thank you for sharing :)

Oh and welcome to the forum ^_^

@abundance I would recommend asking yourself what are some problems the world had now that you can assist in solving by using your greatest strengths? If you are great at programming, maybe you can help develop an app that benefits those in need?
