Is pornography beneficial?

171 posts in this topic

I haven't seen a post yet that talks about any benefits of pornography for understanding sexuality, only posts that degrade the use of porn. Anyone here know why is this the case?

I personally find some benefit in watching females on free webcam sites. It is interesting to see how they play with themselves. Commercial p0rn is not beneficial in my opinion.

Explain to me how that's beneficial.

I can't pull at my own hair to free myself from the quicksand.

Sit back and relax, it's just a joyride.

It works for me, and my girlfriend also likes it. I really don't get people's hang up's on it. People talk about it degrading women or teaching men bad habits and that porn somehow can be responsible for us not knowing how to treat a women.

The only problems I can see are (a) illegal stuff (b) if you get addicted to it (c) if you are stupid enough to think that just because they do it porn, that your girlfriend will also be willing to do it just because it is exists in the world of porn.

In my eyes if you are vulnerable enough to let porn negatively impact your life then you need to work on the vulnerability in general, as porn is not your real problem.

Besides watching your own girl (or one of them) do it, you can touch them better. They also call me "Magic fingers".

Doesn't matter.

Porn literally fuel sex traffic and therefore sex slave.

Coercion is a big thing in the porn industry too, women are constantly coerced to do things they don't want, because they are always pressured by their employer.

That's only the tip of the iceberg.

I was being flippant Shin. Actually I apologise. I don't know man. Are all women taken advantage of with porn or is it a valid career for some? I'm ignorant of the wider issues if I am honest and humble here.

Some are just super weak mentally, and continue to do it because they think they have no option.
In this case, and it's not so uncommon (probably the majority), then the employer coerce them a lot.

Also, everything that is real rape (sex slave) is cut of the montage, and even if it's not, you have no idea if the girls likes it/plays into the fantasy, or is really being raped.

Even if you take the case of a girl who totally loves the job, she is still being coerced and forced to do things she does not want, especially when there is bdsm acts on the line, she can't do anything when she is tied up, even if the guy does something totally different than what he was supposed to do.

Even on milder cases, when the act is on, there is cameras, your employer and several dudes watching, not doing what everyone expect of you requires tons of courage, and most girls who do porn are not doing it by passion (some are even slaves, literally) or mentally balanced.

Are you speaking from experience?

Look it up on the web.
It's not that hard to find.

Don't use the "experience" card to remain an addict to something that is disgusting and hurting so many people.

I'm curious, but how was sexuality introduced to you?

I do agree with some points made against porn on the legality, potential addiction and warped distortion from internet porn to real life sex.

Again, are you speaking from experience? Or are you speaking from testimonials from people for or against pornography?

Also, I've noticed you dedicated a lot of your posts about nofap, a movement against porn. Don't you realize you're at least being biased?

@Bill W  The thing is, that most people are stupid enough to fall for it you know, I don't know whether you have fallen into the trap already or your girlfriend, but if you actually have not, you are indeed a rare case.

Guys I don't know why are you argumenting for porn. @Danioover9000  Shin might just be very knowledgable about everything that's happening behind the scenes, so he runs the thread. Don't tell me, that dividing your attention between God and pussy is a good idea.

You're assuming the following: that I'm using experience to excuse porn, that I'm addicted to porn, that porn is disgusting, that porn is hurting many people. Notice you're judging me.

I'm not supporting porn. This post is about any benefits , at all, that porn offers for understanding sexuality. The majority of this sub forum isn't discussing about pornography, at least, in a positive light, again, for understanding sexuality.

So, why don't you tell me your experience with pornography in helping you understand your sexuality or the lack thereof?

@Danioover9000  I am young enough to remember my life experience before I started watching porn. It was much more free, less awkward, you don't even realize how many negative effects it has. I mean, there are SO MANY other things, that are infinitely more beneficial than watching porn, consider them.

Excuse me? I'm the topic starter, I'm the one who's running the thread.

Also, you're assuming he's knowledgeable. If you could just re-read my first post, you'll understand why. I'm not focusing the discussion about God and pussy: I want to discuss the potential benefits of pornography for understanding sexuality! If you have any life experiences or testimonials to share about pornography being beneficial for you in understanding sexuality, then don't be shy in sharing them to me.
