What is your drive or reason to stop eating meat if I may ask? And why would you want to eat corn instead?

I don't want to stop eating all meat I just want to cut out red meat. I eat red meat about 3 or 4 times a week and realize this is to much so I would like to find a substitute to red meat.

I don't want to stop eating all meats, just red meat in biarticular.

I think quorn is a good first substitute to meat. It's delicious and packed with proteins. Bear in mind that it's still a processed food: it consists of myco(=fungus)proteins and commonly egg albumen, but at least is not classified as probable carcinogenic, as red meat is.

I love to prepare ground quorn as a chili con quorn or simply have quorn cubes with some kind of sauce, veggies and rice.

If you're looking for even healthier alternatives, go for beans and lentils :D

@Tom T I'm no expert in food but I think that if you pay enough attention to what it feels like to eat quorn you'll notice that it's hella processed. How good Quorn is for your health relative to red meat, I don't know.

Hark ye yet again — the little lower layer. All visible objects, man, are but as pasteboard masks. But in each event — in the living act, the undoubted deed — there, some unknown but still reasoning thing puts forth the mouldings of its features from behind the unreasoning mask. If man will strike, strike through the mask! How can the prisoner reach outside except by thrusting through the wall? To me, the white whale is that wall, shoved near to me. Sometimes I think there's naught beyond. But 'tis enough.

The easiest solution would be to substitute some other non-red meat.

Quorn is also processed food, but it's probably not worse than normal red meat.

Other good substitutes are lentils and beans, as already mentioned, which are definitely healthier.

I would add sweet potatoes to the list as well.

Or, for most people, it wouldn't even hurt to simply drop the meat and don't substitute at all. Most people eat way too much protein anyways. Actually not just protein, but too much in general...

Wisely spoken @Shiva, people should "worry" more about other more common deficiencies that people have (B-12, vitamin D, Iron, Calcium, ...) and these you get plenty if eating "alive" food (vegetables, beans, nuts, seeds, fruits, ...) and try to think about what type of fuel you put into your body.

@Tom T PM me if you want serious information and steps to become more conscious and healthy about your food habits ;) (or even other things of course) I am doing this on regular basis and for about 5-6 years, there is really TONS of science about this and the rest is up to you to decide what it is you want to do and how much willingness you have :)

Peace!

I completely cut out all meat and now eat quorn instead. I did the change immediately and so far there's no ill effects. Yes, it is heavily processed and that's my main concern, but I would rather have that than contribute to the huge amounts of suffering and environmental damage caused by the meat industry.
