@Danioover9000 No need to play the victim here. As I wrote, this is analogous to someone coming in after a public presentation and then disrupting the Q and A between teacher and audience by asking “what was the talk about?”. It’s disrespectful to the teacher who spent dozens of hours working on the presentation and disrespectful to the audience that actually attended the presentation.

It is inappropriate and most adults know this intuitively and don’t need it explained to them. Enough babysitting and spoon feeding. Take some initiative, responsibility and effort for your personal development.

Being a moderator does not have to be a permanent office.

It could be a temporary one for a period of 6 to 12 months. Then the torch can get passed on to other forum members.

It balances out relative perspectives and keeps the moderators humble.

Truth indecency can be spotted easily and can and will be moderated by any forum members being the moderator of the moment.

Imagine the time and effort it would take to train new nods. Imagine the potential abuse of power they'd have to deal with each new mod. Sounds like a potential clusterfuck to me. Leo has hinted that if the forum becomes too much of a hassle, he'd rather just shut it down. If you all keep on complaining, and trying to force your will onto the forum, you will lose it. Is that what you want, for it to get shut down? You all keep on pushing, and that's what will happen.

I do imagine, and I think it's a pretty weak argument.

Imagine having to do elections for having a US president every 4 years.

What annoys me the most is the people who speak for Leo and the mods as though they know them in person or actually understand the purpose(s) of Actualized.org. Just go to sleep guys. You're better off doing "the work" than telling others to do it, because from what you wrote, this forum is just a distraction.

Also, notice the absolutist attitude that you have. You think/believe that you (feel free to include Leo and mods) know better than others, and you think that other perspectives are bs. Besides the fact that this is very arrogant, it also is an exquisite case closed-mindedness, and therefore it's the further perspective from the truth.

One last and funny thing, is that this thread had to pop up again right after Leo's episode on authority. This is a great sign of people questioning the authorities without fear of rejection or inhibition from the common folk. You who are arguing that personal development takes work and effort, I don't need to spoonfeed you that some students are doing the work and that you're seeing the results in their complains about some decisions.

Just because someone has more powers does not make them infallible.

This is true. Some mods can't even be consistent in how they give out warning points.

4chan is fun, but holds absolutely no possibility for intellectual discussion, it's incredibly disorganized and has a lot of actual extremists (and not the conscious kind). This forum is the opposite, which is what i love about it. The topics are intellectual, though repetitive, and the people here genuinely want to learn instead of feed their radical tribes.

Yes, this forum is one of the very few that is of high quality. Just that some people get too triggered here when the intention behind some of the posts is positive, to trigger a moment when they're aware of some limits to their ideas.

So has something rattled your cage that you felt the need to resurrect this thread?

Pretty much. Ever since I received those warning points, I just accepted them and kept putting this issue off for a couple of months. It started when I spotted a user pretending to be enlightened. I decided to be humorous and point this out, not even being negative. The user disappears, deletes his replies to me, reports me, and I get 4 warning points, 2 temporary, 2 permanent, all because I ignored my intuition and decided against my intuition to help this person out by pointing this dynamic to him. Great.

Then a coworker in my workplace was recently let off. I've known this person is a good person and the workplace long enough that the situation felt off, and then this issue resurfaced in my awareness when I couldn't focus on my hobby, that this issue kept cropping up in my mind. I couldn't keep ignoring this any longer. I already pm'd Leo about this, and I've taken his silence as a "no I'm not helping you". Fine. I just couldn't stay quiet about this.

This thread's main issue is on unjustified thread-locks, and it's correlating issue is about moderators. That's why I post here. I wouldn't be so polite if I made a separate thread on moderators.

Let’s be honest , I and I’m sure a lot of others treat this forum like a micro-hobby. That’s not it’s intended purpose and helping by “blocking” pointless debates/topics prevents people from wasting even more time here.

@Leo Gura you are only want hear, what you want to hear.

I asked about exorcism demons

and he said this is not appropriate for this forum, what about your Making Sense Of Paranormal Phenomena & Psychic Powers video.

I begin to see the true face of Leo. I see Leo isn't doing what he preach, actualized.org turned to ideology.

If you ask questions weather it's labelled as low consciousness, projection, etc.

@Danioover9000 Thanks for taking the time to type that. My involvement here is pretty pointless. I'm trying not to get involved in any topics that do not concern me but it's work in progress! I've probably been quite lucky to have no warning points. I got a friendly warning and no points for a link I put for an Amazon product but that's about it. Anyway dude don't let it get to you. Enjoy the forum for what it is. Take the good and leave the bad. Easier said than done sometimes I know. The Mod's have always dealt with things well from what I've seen, but I appreciate your different experience here.

To all Mods: You guys are doing a great job!

But I'll suggest you guys to be more malicious about the trolls in this site, and to improve your troll detection skills.

For example it was painfully obvious that the ''Porn is essentially pointless'' thread was a troll since the first page. The only thing that was weird was the join date of the troll. But this thread was an easy lay up to identify. That thread should have never gone as far as it did.

I think that you guys give every single one the benefit of the doubt,  and that's cool, it's prolly on your guidelines right?

That's a useful attitude. I'll keep this in mind.

Oh no, not you too! I think it's because you posted on the self-actualization sub-forum, not the spiritual sub-forum. If I was Leo, I would've just moved your thread to the spiritual sub-forum and directed you to the featured thread called "Ask an occultist"(he made that occult thread a featured), instead of locking the thread down and being negative. I'm sure if you still have this problem with demons and exorcism he might offer his help and maybe help clarify your problem for you. Good luck

Thank you for taking the time to respond to me, and giving me a thought-provoking question. Sometimes I get too involved in topics in this forum. I'm actually now reminded of an NLP presupposition " there is no failure, only feedback.". I've treated these issues as failures on my part and their part and taken it all too seriously and failing to just reframe these issues as a learning process. I'm now just gonna makel my attitude like yours: be less involved. Thank you for grounding me in this case.

There's room for improvement, wherever you go, whoever you are. And I'm sure the same goes for that experienced moderator that allowed that thread to run it's course.

@Arcangelo There was an experienced moderator posting through out the thread you are referring to and he must not have seen OP as a troll or having troll behavior.

Once the thread ran its course it was locked. I don't see the problem.
