  • no progress the past 4 days

if that goes on the next 4 days you know what that‘l mean for logistics? get the truck rolling dude ^_^

how much of the load is still missing? maybe start with a checklist? and staple some less heavy topics inbetween.

@now is forever Thanks for the encouragement. I have about 50% left. I‘m getting some support tomorrow and will make a plan on what I need to do step-by-step.

if you get hung up at times don’t stick too much with the step by step, you can always come back to that. before you procrastinate with something else, procrastinate with proofreading or a small mindmap. if you get hung up use the time creatively on the topic. if you get stuck you have a bottleneck situation, use some creative methods to loosen not only the face muscles, but also the topic. you’ll do it! ? ?

@Zigzag Idiot Thank you??

@now is forever Ok, I‘ll do that. Thanks!

13daysleft:

  • met with my bro and we structured everything and cleaned up the text
  • helped me to know exactly what to do for the next few days
  • that minimized the fear to continue the work, because I know what to do and how to do it
  • I realized that giving up is connected to a hurt and sad self image
  • Instead of identifying with that I remember the self image of me already having finished this work successfully

12daysleft:

  • was really tired the whole day, drank coffee the day before and didn‘t have a good sleep
  •  but I finished some of the to-do‘s
  • in the evening I panicked a bit, but meditating helped to wind down, connect to silence and sleep early

@youngshinzen

C'mon dude! You are SO close!

Just a bit more, and then you'll send it, print it, and be DONE with it.

A MASTERS thesis! That is a HUGE accomplishment! and you are more then halfway done!

I have a particularly nasty subject this year in PhD, and keep thinking and dreaming about the bottle of expensive-ass wine I will pop open on the day I pass the goddamn thing! We can celebrate together!!! ;)

[Also, on the subject of fear, the thing that helped me and might help you too - I used to start every chunk of writing with a smartass comment like (and I'm not making this up): "IntroFUCKtion to this bullshit nobody cares about", write intext all the cusswords I felt, all the "blablabla confirmation (some asshole et al.)", and that helped me get it out of my system. The next time I read it, I fixed one thing at a time, and reading and re-reading helped focus my thoughts and clean up my sentences.
The point is to fill up as much of the the page and spit out as much text as you can. Just get it out, spit it out, smear it on the page, bask at the horror that is (non-existent) grammar, and at one point, in the midst of all the fuckery, a cohesive train of thought will catch on and you will slide into productivity. If you do that, though, make sure you highlight all the colorful commentary, so nothing gets to your mentor. That... would be bad. ;) ]

Good luck and keep us posted! :D

@Draconis Chaser Thank you man! Yeah, I did something similar, sneaked in funny sentences, used wordplays and so on, just to keep myself entertained whenever I re-read it? I wish you lots of success with your work!

11daysleft:

  • drank coffee again, but in a lower dose, helped at first, but fired back during the day
  • studied for about 3 hours in a loud environment and with all the pressure on top it was overwhelming
  • Found that short meditations help to restore my capacity

@now is forever No, but I‘ll research it a bit and order if it fits. I asked a friend and he said it has a calming and focusing effect, sounds good.

10daysleft:

  • countdown...
  • worked on it for 1,5h in the morning, then lost focus and after fighting with myself for a few minutes to continue, I left the library
  • Had a long nap, worked out, meditated and so the day passed
  • at night I was in bed and couldn‘t sleep, always with the thought that I will continue in just a moment
  •  I had an emotional mini-breakthrough during the day and saw that it is worth fighting, I remembered that and felt like I knew why I had to study
  • my arms reached out and took the laptop??
  • Finished lots of stuff

9daysleft:

  • studied in the morning and at night
  • my focus is much stronger at around 1am
  • Now in the final phase of the theory, the practical part will hopefully be a quick process, because everything is prepared

8daysleft:

  • not very productive, feeling too confident
  • I realized that when I tell myself I‘ll do "just a little bit" there‘s a pleasant emotion, where as the automatic thought of finishing a whole chapter at once leads to no emotion/fear/disconnection
  • so I did that successfully and it helped me to at least start
