I think this happens when you get to the 6, 7 and 8 oxherding pictures, but it might happen much early.

@phllip103 Not easy to answer. The more deep-rooted a certain issue the longer it might take for it to go away. It's not about a point where all of a sudden no thought or feeling bothers you, it is gradual.

Probably when you locate Awareness for the first time.  That was the start of it for my Path.  Watch this video:

This is avoidance of sensations, resulting in being led by reactional thought.

Yelling - “I won’t be hurt again, I’ll scare you before you hurt me”

Overconfident - “Look how great I am - I can never be hurt again (I think I’m fooling them)”

Fear of enemy - “I’ll protect that hurt “me”, by projecting the pain of having ‘disconnected’ from source, onto you, rather than inspecting that “me” and that fear”

Doubt about future - “Rather than inspect the beliefs I know can’t be true because they don’t feel good - I’ll project that suffering onto reality / circumstances”. (That way I never have to self inquire, and never have to present with the suffering)

@Joseph Maynor do you ever still look back / worry?

Yes.  But I spend a lot of time where I don't have any thoughts arise now.  And I don't aim for thoughtlessness as a goal either.
