People with activated Yellow, what do you do for a living?

It seems to me that once you get into all this systems  stuff and realise that higher order solutions are what it takes for the mankind so survive, the motivation to pursue the path of some kind of specialist (like artist or physicist) vanishes. It's like now you have no other choice but to be a leader, a  visionary -- manager or sage or consultant of sorts, and there's no way back. You need a job that takes a spiral wizard to be done, not fancy technical skill master.

Does this apply to you? What did you do? What's your current career path (so to speak)?

I don't think the idea of becoming an artist goes away, or at least it can definitely resurface when peeking  into turquoise. Being an artist in any way you are can be great for the development of humanity, and developing in a hybrid of green and orange way isn't all that there is to it. Maybe for someone's situation it indeed means exactly what you described, but I wouldn't say always

College professor in the sciences. I can integrate art, science, history, philosophy, psychology into my courses so it's great for Yellow level exploration. Yet, I get some pushback when I go Turquoise. My colleagues are starting to catch on that I am now a mystic and no longer a scientist.

Hm, seems like I have some hero syndrome which narrows my perspective, then.

@Serotoninluv Have any plans about tuquoise style career?

@thehero @Azote As Leo mentioned in his video, it's challenging to navigate life when one has evolved to the high end of their community. For me, that means evolving into Yellow/Turquoise in a Orange/Green community. I'm at a small college and I've run out of colleagues at my level of development. It's just me now. There is no one here to discuss developing at Yellow/Turquoise. Everyone wants to be hyper analytical (philosophy and science), human expression (communication and art departments) or how to increase diversity and equality on campus. All Orange and Green stuff. There is noone here talking about how to incorporate Yellow/Turquoise modes of thinking / being into the curriculum (except for some shallow talk about "integrating" course material interdisciplinary). Very few college professors in the world are at this level.

My whole life, there have been Orange and Green professors pulling me up the spiral. No I don't see any. I don't see any books or videos about how to become an effective Yellow/Turquoise college teacher. Not much on how to create a Yellow/Turquoise course and classroom environment. This semester I am developing / teaching a course on consciousness. I'm all alone. As I try to pull my colleagues up, some colleagues try to pull me back down. As Leo said in his video, they are like crabs in a bucket trying to pull me down. I meditate with my students in class. I teach nonduality. I integrate science and metaphysics. A few of my colleagues are intrigued. A few of my colleagues are like "wtf, pull that crab down!"

Overall, it is a mixed experience. At times disappointment, frustration and uncertainty. Other times, it is exciting, empowering and magnificent.

@Serotoninluv  Have you come across Sapolsky? His course is definitely yellow.

... wait, you actually teach meditation and nonduality to biology students? :D (respect)

I peg myself into orange/green with fingertips in yellow currently based in one of 2 top corporate areas in London so heavy orange all around. There is no such thing as having a conscious conversation with 99% ppl here, there are few exceptions. To give you an example one of my colleagues sees winning a lottery and going to Ibiza ,banging bunch of girls and party 2 weeks in a row as the ultimate life goal...similar aims are shared around the company....not judging (ok maybe a little :D) just saying the values systems are on a very different level. There is no climbing the spiral tree in this environment as there are no role models, all my role models are people on youtube and books.

I am in a process of transitioning to what I consider meaningful life purpose which is a naturopathic healing and helping people take their health and life back without medication and surgeries. This requires me to read lot of orange health studies and conduct a lot of academic papers at the same time a lot of the naturopathic content is green with hint of yellow so there is a lot of clashing and tug-of-war. I think I am getting better at being able to interact with Orange at work without being sucked back and sensing people in yellow if I meet any on very rare occasions and picking their brains about life.

Like Leo said in the last video, our society will not make it easy for you but you absolutely can if you can find couple extraordinary people like the man himself and let them be your example. I think you need a life purpose to be able to do that. It gives you financial stability and frees more time to do what is important, also you cannot pursue higher values from a place of working your ass  for some orange guy who just wants to enrich himself and retire to Maldives. It will also serve as a rebound point towards higher values by removing you from a lot of Orange/Blue influence

Actually, this is exactly the answer I expected xD

Creating your own brand new path is kinda pain in the ass, that's why I'm worried

My main stage is yellow-turquoise. I strongly disagree on part

I guess you're mistaken with green stage.

You asked for career path, your main concern is money. Not the stage itself.

Your answer is in my personal experience (being a poor-artist), My art does not bring any penny to me. It produces high output in art form. I like what I do. I do it while not being conscious of how hours! are passed. The output is highly complex art and I haven't been seen anyone close to the complexity of what I do, after-all that's what makes artist, the distinct definition of characteristics of an artist. My valuing of art system is not dependent on how many fans or people like my work, I simply enjoy doing it. That what matters to me. Not money.

Money is something on it's own to be meditated on and to have concerns on. Separate.

Nope. Green code is about "live and let live", whereas Yellow is about "thrive and help thrive". Yep, he would help others thrive for the sake of his own survival as part of the system, but still. I think he will feel this urge to take care of the spiral's health, now with all that he knows.

Well, since on this stage what he is concerned with is coming up with systemic solutions, and he still needs time for rest and fun, I say that organizing his activity such that he gets paid for it is totally desirable. Besides, money is a good tool to assess the value and efficiency of his complex thinking application.

I mean, stages don't emerge out of thin air. It's the need to survive under changing life conditions that force them to. So the thinking style must be applicable to real problems. So, my question basically is that: if he knows that he is developed enough to handle problems the majority of people cannot, and he knows  that he can do crazy shit (really valuable!) with acupunctural manipulations, and he knows that those major problems will affect his ass too, then how can it be authentic for him to sit and do his little material engineering research (for example) for his whole life? I can only see how this could be a temporary strategic step, and I was also interested if you guys found the strategic intent that makes you do what you do.

Nice, liiiink plz!! Do you think your relationship to art is something you can develop from valuing it? I love music more than anything, but I'm still shit and actually quite unmotivated a lot of times.

Yeah, +1 on that. I work in marketing in an orthopaedics company right now. Work is alright, the people are mostly orange-ish, but I get along with them quite well (orange people in general actually). I think the stages do not necessarily correlate 100% with profession, for me my job is more of a means to an end at the moment. Isn't horrible, I learn some stuff, pays the bills while I develop as a musician and as a sage.

You don't like biographies and success stories very much, don't you?^_^

Of course I'm gonna do just that. Don't worry.

Thank you @Elisabeth. That is a great example! I’m introducing meditation and nonduality in a first year seminar for nonmajors.

Then he should go and check whether it's true in practice or not.
