NoFap is not effective. Try quitting addiction instead.

Fapping is only one of many addictions. Until you quit all addictions, your mind won't become clear.

Even if you quit masturbation, there are food, cigarette, internet, music, and so forth.

@CreamCat  Fapping and porn are one of the hard ones... You might want to take care of these first. Dont forget that some people are getting over even harder addictions.

@bejapuskas As long as you don't quit all addictions, you will keep being sucked into random short-term addictions. Masturbation will often become one of your current short-term addictions. It's not difficult to quit masturbation, but it's difficult to quit every addiction sustainably. Masturbation cannot be quit sustainably if you have other addictions. Other addictions often lead to masturbation.

All addictions are interconnected. All addictions are based on fear of existential void.

It's true but still,

There is no comparason between being addicted to music or actualized.org than pmo/alcohol for example.

In the first case you will at worst waste some time, the second one you fuck up your health and energy level.

That is too simplistic of a view...different people have different root issues in their life. Yea being addicted to meat is probably a problem but it's not THAT big of a problem for me because I'm mentally and physically relatively healthy. On the other hand porn and masturbation is at the root of very deep rooted problems in my life, so prioritizing and wisely picking my battles becomes important to actually fix problems and not just philosophize about them. But if someone is obese and his weight is causing the most problems then maybe for them it makes more sense to fix that before or if ever addressing porn. And some people have no real problem with porn at all. If all addictions are interconnected and build a web then every web looks differently with different central nodes(nodes that are connected to most or all other nodes) those are the leverage points in the web and then it becomes unnecessary to try to fix every single addiction manually which is an impossible task.

What if I'm addicted to quitting addictions. Is that bad? Or being addicted to helping people

Nothing is good or bad. Good or bad only exist in a relative context. e.g: It's good to give a plant water if i don't want it to die. In that context it might be better, but it's all relative. From the absolute perspective, nothing matters at all.

You can however, contemplate on the question: "why do i want to help people so badly". Do i want to help them because it gives ME a good feeling? Do i feel more worthy if i help people? Or do i want to help them because i just want to help them? Gotta be very honest with this one.

Of course I would add to this that you need to use these question (or more: for helping people like @Psyche_92 says), while at somemit on your self too.

We generally want to help people because we have internal issues to solve.

Solving those first then seeing if the desire stays is the way to go ?

@Caterpillar Addictions arent bad, they are just destructive. If you have any kind of desire, it blocks of the possibility to become emotionally stable and independent.

Being fucked up is the greatest of the addictions and the root of all suffering.

Go fucking down and meet yourselves I'd say :)

Addictive behaviour is the response to some unsolved issue that remains in the subconscious mind. Its our duty to progress unsolving them. also addictions have a genetic component. That mean our parents didnt solve their issues and we inherit genetically in our live to solve them. If anybody resolve their issues and transmit them to future generations we will have crazy kids, well I see it every day. Today most kids have addictions, to tasty food smartphones, hyper stimulation...

Masturbating serves a biological function, and we're not the only mammals that do it.  It replenishes your sperm army, making you potent.  A single man should masturbate at least once a day or whenever your body tells you to.  If that's 5x a day, then that's acceptable.

Porn can fuck you up, but if you're young it's a good place to get ideas.  Chicks can't stand it when guys don't know what to do.

Sure chicks love it when you imitate porn moves and acts?‍♂️ Alright. Fortunately that's bullshit.

@TomDashingPornstar I'm not saying you shouldn't masturbate at all. You can eat food without being addicted to food. You can masturbate without being addicted to masturbation. If you are not addicted to masturbation, you can control when and how to do it. You should become more conscious of it.

@Caterpillar  You are overthinking at this point. If you ARE emotionally stable, you dont have that desire! It becomes so natural, it isnt something that you must protect, its just there, you have to see it dude. :D
