How do I get rid of social anxiety?

Stop thinking that looking people in the eyes or saying hello is a sign of some sort of confidence, I think its very misunderstood. You can live without these things and still be happy, in some cultures its inappropriate to do this. People can be introverted, not communicating with others if not necessary and still be happy and passionate about life. :) 

I think your approach to your problem is a bit incorrect, it sounds like you want to conquer your fear and anxiety, which is not the right thing to do. Just stop creating this problem, watch videos on high and low consciousness, think about it, make notes, apply it to your life. Consciousness and radical honesty are really the 2 things that can solve any problem in my opinion. (if you are healthy)

The advice to stop believing that you exist might sound stupid, but it has helped me a lot with my anxiety :D Its almost ridiculous how effective it is... Sadhguru said this very nicely, he said something like: Which one do you want to conquer, a riverside or a desert? (desert = bad emotions) If you dont want to conquer it, why do you even go there?

Understand that its you who is creating that anxiety, you just arent aware of it, thats why you have to increase your awareness, figure out how, there are many ways, start with getting rid of your addictions, Leo has a brilliant video on that!

@Shin Sure, I have converstions with people at work and my tiny social circle.

But, I want to be able to cold approach though and be responsible for my succes with meeting new people.

Practice Practice Practice-significant results will be seen in a few months.

A book thats on leos book list and is widely popular is called "the six pillars of self-esteem"-read it, memorize it and DO it. Part of the practice in the book is to be more mindful, so youll have to include one form of meditation. 

The thing that helped me the most is shamanic breathing (Leos video). Its a form of shadow work. You can do any type of shadow work if you dont like the idea of hyperventilating. But in order to get rid of your problem, you need to get to the root cause of the problem, which is what shadow work does. It makes you aware of patterns that led you to the state you are in now. Also living healthy (sleep/eating right/being productive and avoiding too much internet/social media) is vital.

@Max_V  As long as you are willing to keep working hard, you are ok. Just be open to the possibility that your work until now was almost meaningless and you have to change the approach, if you want further benefits :) I dont know if you are or arent open, just pointing out this trap thats waiting for you out there.

What has helped me the most is PUA and rejection therapy challenges or any social challenges for that matter, which involve approaching random strangers and striking a conversation.

I would recommend that you heal the underlying emotional wound which is causing you the social anxiety. It probably has its roots in childhood, e.g. abandonment, humiliation, mobbing.

You heal this aspect by giving it your full attention when it arises, making it conscious and loving it. Therefore it’s losing its power over you and over time it will subside completely.

Methods that work for me:

A) Don't use porn to masturbate.  If you really wanna experiment, you can do total noFap, and the anxiety will go away for sure, but you lose your edginess and your sperm aren't potent anymore because they're too old. Your body knows this and hates it.  So I recommend to just masturbate without the porn. The anxiety should go away.  If you're a chick, you still need to masturbate for other health reasons.  

Those ideas are partially from the book Sperm Wars.  

B) Don't try to get rid of the anxiety by saying, "I wish my anxiety would go away."  Instead, focus on the opposite emotion which is 'courage'.  Trying to get rid of anxiety doesn't work, building up courage does though.  Just think, "courage, courage, courage, courage."

That's what they guy who wrote Thought Vibrations says.  It's the original law of attraction book published in 1906

I would get professional help.  Do research on potential therapists, and try two or three if you have to.  Whatever you spend will be much less that the value added to your life.

What worked for me, is reading books about Human nature and Human relationships and power dynamics and boundaries, Reading about different personalities(zodiac, MBTI, ennegram test) to not fall into the trap of thinking all people are the same and react the same way to all people whenever you feel emotional turbulence.

1. Release the feeling you get when you have SA (do that at home, while remembering a situation)

2. On the street outside: Relax your body (watch Leos last video on this if you haven't)

3. Change your mindset. From something like "people are mean" "I am awkward" to "Most people are cool" "Im the coolest guy" "everything will be fine". This can take a while.

What I realized about social anxiety is that very curable and develop methods for myself but I am expanding them:

1.Is this anxiety inner or outer?

If it's inner, what did I do that caused this anxiety?

I start looking inside and questioning and feeling my body and hypothesize then I go search online.

I ask myself did I masturbate or had sex? maybe I suffer from post-orgasmic illness syndrome and hypothetically I assume an increase prolactin and inflammatory response chemicals that cause men to fatigue withdraw from society to sleep more until refractory period ends and new semen is generated.

What works is Adaptogen Herbs and multivitamins and fats that Increase more testosterone and dopamine, serotonin ,exytocin and GABA that lower prolactin and even Anti-inflammation pills like ibuprofen helped me so much.

Also, I ask that did I watch some of leos videos or explored existential topics?

Usually whenever I watch or read about existential topics that target to alter my ego or ultimately the trajectory of my destiney, I tend to isolate to think more and don't like to socialize. I usually go watch some lower-self appealing stuff like netflix tv shows and comedy to relax my over-freightened ego, wallah I become sociable person again.

Also Ask did I eat something that cause inflammation in my own body that cause my symptoms of withdrawal. I discovered that after taking any anti-inflammatory spices or pills like Turmeric I become calm within and become gradual social person

I also ask did I stay away too long from people like a day or two?

I noticed its natural to be afraid of people for few hours and then noticed fear is like Peak shape curve and it peaks around first 4 to 5 hours  and drop dramatically as long as I stayed outside and again went outside tomorrow more.

I Also noticed, that whenever I do gratitude of existence exercises of visualization, journalling, meditation that target my shadows like fears, embarassment, rejection, guilt and start loving everything about existence the good and the bad, when i go out I smile more and love others. Self love is very important and curative. Surrender and acceptance  and approval of everything is curative.

Lastly, having a darwin mindset of survival of the fittest acquired by toxic websites and people about dating and opposite sexes is just going to make you afraid forever unless you achieve enlightenment in this aspect of your mind.  Charles Darwin evolution is one perspective and even small one and this universe is so big and graceful and abundant that you don't need to compete with anyone at all.

 

Outside factors are rare most of the time but inner factors like mind and physiology play a significant role in your social anxiety. If you could at least forget about yourself for few hours, you can socialize like a maniac.

I had social anxiety and I wanted to get rid of it. I went for therapy searched online and what . Only thing that worked was watching Leo's video. And as he said in his stop caring what people think of you video was that literally we are letting them having so much control over our lives why? Isn't this scary . Have integrity don't care about what people think of you and don't fall into this people pleasing business . It worked for  me it took my attention away from they are thinking to what I want to do
