How does one become truly creative ?

14 posts in this topic

We truly need to get a discussion going about how do you access the infinite intelligence and really create something very creative. Something completely mind blowing and new and very fresh and with new meanings and value and very deep at the same time. You see what I mean :P

Are there any other ways other than microdosing LSD or simply raising your consciousness ? Any special type of meditation ?

Meanwhile I'll go contemplate about what creativity truly is.

Slow down the monkey mind and access presence. That's all you need to know.

To me, creativity is the same as panning for gold in a river. Pick your spot diligently, work hard, be mindful and you might find a minuscule gold nugget before sunset. Rinse and repeat for 20 years. Great ideas come by simply showing up everyday.

Good question.

I can just add that when you've tapped into creativity, letting it run through you. It is then your responsibility to give form to it.

You might want to start practice this now.

Sexual transmutation, à la Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. Creativity skyrockets when practicing sexual abstinence along with kriya yoga and other practices that circulate that energy throughout the mind-body, not letting it stagnate. The sexual energy is creative energy, normally procreation is the focus of the human animal, so when this pursuit is abandoned physically and psychologically, the libido force can be channeled into other avenues. Furthermore, the drive to create intensifies the longer you journey into no-fap territory. This is my experience, and countless other men and women who succeed at long term sexual abstinence feel similarly.

Another pertinent question, something I struggle with and I'm sure many of you do to, is figuring out how to better apply creativity. Anyone can be creative, but unless they use that creativity to actually create something outside their mind, that creativity will never see the light of day. Imagine you worked in the creative department at a company that makes anything, your job is to be the think tank, come up with ideas that can provide value where it is needed, solve overlooked problems, uplift people, change the world even- all you have to do is think of it, and the other departments will handle the rest of the process. It is much more challenging for a lone individual with little capital and expertise to create something of value, except if it's something you do on the computer and that's all you need to create, and that is the medium. Actualized.org for example.

Have you also noticed that the most creative people tend to think very broadly instead of specializing? But the economy rewards specialization, people who excel above and beyond at a specific area are rewarded with the riches. The ways to maximize our own creativity, and human creativity as a whole would be to find ways of more readily actualizing our visions, as well as for creative people and specialist to team up and work together to carry out a common goal. I'm sure there exist organizations designed to bring together very skilled and very visionary people to do just this. I'd like to find out about such communities to see if I can get involved with them, as well as improve my skill sets so that I am better able to use my creativity.

@Lynnel I have found among many things that adding playfulness in my life works great for creativity. To just play which on itself puts me very present and in a space where creativity follows.

@Lynnel You might consider creating what you want. Maybe sorting your thoughts, and feeling your absolute best, in accordance with your ‘inner being’, ‘higher self’. I’ve heard this works for some people. They’re probably crazy though.

@Lynnel

Look around you, wherever you are. That, is spontaneous creativity. You are that. There is truly nothing else. Hay in a haystack is hard to find, but only if you’re looking for it.

Like a choose your own ending story book, your thoughts create.

You are the creator.

in my perception true creativity is figuring out where to meet needs. that includes figuring out what there already is to meet needs and then either use it as a starting point or develop a better more effective way by integrating either random insights or researched, reflected insights. creativity is the way of finding better or just different approaches or solutions.

A simple proactive practical way of developing your creation skills is to combine 2-3 things that have no relation to each other and figure out how they in fact do relate to each other. You can use a Venn diagram or mental gymnastics to do this. You do it for 90 days, you'll see how much is out there to be created.

Your essentially  re-wiring your brain to look at things differently, so that you can combine unique things to come up with something greater then the sum of its parts.
