Sid Meier's Civilization and Spiral Dymanics

3 posts in this topic

@Leo Gura

I know your stance on videogames.

But in case of Sid Meier's Civilization games I think they can be considered a good education tool to play trough at least once or twice.

Coming to mind the 3 play styles in Civilization Beyond earth which are colored Red, Green, and Yellow and obviously inspired by Spiral Dynamics.

Also the other Civilization games show how a Civilization develops on the Spiral Dynamics scale.

And ofcourse from a Historic point the game is educational.

I think since you have the game designer background you could incorporate it in your teachings.

Maybe use it in a video, a blog post, or a forum post.

@thehero no, how would I know? Turquoise is so rare it's mostly a mystery to most people I think.

Beyond Earth has a Spiral Dynamics element woven into it very clearly. But it's not as good as the regular game imo.

If you know the Spiral Dynamics model you can detect the Spiral Dynamics is the regular game for yourself.
