Hello.

By being authentic you discover your true self which is one of the most important things you can do.

You'll feel free and expressive.

It really doesn't matter what others think of you.

More accurate to say you'll be giving up your emotional attachment to being understood. Being authentic means some people will not understand you, ever. You don't have to like it but you do at some point need to accept it.

There will be goodbyes in the process. Feelings of marginalization. 

In the end is totally worth it putting all your energy in being authentic.

Only an authentic being will understand another authentic being, but ultimately no one can understand you better than yourself, just be and all will be fine. I lost all my friends and my sense of identity, both internal and external (social) identity. Both the peace is worth it.

To build on this I don't think you will even be understood by everyone if you are lost in delusion, emotionally cold and not doing self work. it's an ideal that isn't achievable.
