Addictive thought pattern

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum. 

I'm having a problem, where I just brag about myself in my mind, again and again, and it's extremely stimulating.

I really want to break out of it, because it's eating up a lot of my time, and mental resources.

How do I break out of this thought pattern?

Start to get into Personal Development at the newbie stage.  Realize this is a long term project, not a quick fix.  Start to explore work in Enlightenment.
