I am doing it right now :). Learning about tantra and finding out why I have this compulsive need to masturbate.

Turns out I can't express love to myself and through porn I was trying to get as close as I could to that love. So now I'm working on finding that love within me that has always been there and will never leave.

The extra energy you get when you don't ejaculate is godlike, feels like I can focus a lot better too.

So this was not only a process for me of stopping a compulsive addiction, but also solving underlying psychological issues.

@unholy The self love part I found when looking within :).

Tantra is a way of learning to manipulate your sexual energies into something positive. You can look it up anywhere, got the tip from @Shin

I'm really just doing it because I feel like it has become an excessive habit and I need to reboot. I feel as if it contributed to performance anxiety and possibly ED. So I'm really just doing it for physical reasons and whatever "superpowers" that come with it are a bonus.

The best book to read: Cupids poisoned arrow.

I have read + 300 books in the last 7-8 years. I put this one in the top 5 for me probably.

Althought i read good books, it´s very rare that a book gives a paradigm shift.

I tried to quit porn and masturbation like 100 times. I really think now i have.  Plus when i have sex (celibacy now) in the future it will be way different than previously.

You definitely feel more spiritually centered not ejaculating for a long period of time.

@AlexB I did the 90 days challenge. I relapsed afterwards, I was into dating apps, so that fucked up the process.

@Max_V People talk about super powers (benefits), isn't this just placebo? I get more super powers from meditation.

The ancient Chinese Taoists believed that whenever a male ejaculated, his vital energy would be drained. This applies especially to men above 30 who have achieved their vitality peak or are nearing it. For the same reason they encouraged retention of semen during intercourse as it makes the man stronger and more resilient to various diseases. On the contrary, a female ejaculation has been widely promoted  and should be achieved as often as possible. A sexual intercourse has been perceived as a re balancing of Yang (male) and Yin ( female) homoeostasis that has been extremely healthy for both partners.

And for same reason male homosexuality has been perceived as unhealthy because two Yang(s) will fight for dominance and male homosexual penetration is percieved as unnatural due to lack of natural lubrication, while 2 Yins are generally fine.

It has been believed by Tao masters that retention promotes longevity, physical and mental strength, the burning desire of youth ( libido), improves quality of relationships and makes the male an attractive partner to both younger and older females.

Take from it what you will but realise how exhausted you feel after you "beat the bishop." That being said, abstinence is not an option but reduction in frequency would be beneficial.

NoFap is fine but community is horrid, it's a lot of self pity and superstitious beliefs about "benefits."  There are exceptions but there is a lot of "I broke my streak, I'm such a piece of shit" and a lot of folks telling you what you should do and not do.

It's an alternative to SAA that is far off the beaten path of self help.  It's a bunch of sex addicts trying to force one another into submitting to their view of masturbation and sexuality.

You'll be far better off in a 12 step program with real people you can talk to, get a sponsor, and have some interaction with others.

NoFap isn't new, it's sex addiction, and no amount of forum hopping is gonna make you successful, if you don't believe me go and count the amount of relapse reports and compared to folks who are making 200+ days of sobriety.  It's quite a large gap.

When you ejaculate, you use up a lot of your energy.

When you stop doing this for a while, your energy levels will rise like crazy. Some people will interpret this as super powers :D
