Going To Give Nofap A Try; 90 Days; Will Make 7 Reports

11 posts in this topic

Dear Actualized.org Community,

I have been a porn addict for as long as I have had sexual thoughts. I think I have heard enough of convincing arguments about porn addiction and its debilitating effects, and I am going to do a 90 day challenge to see if there is a difference, no matter how subtle, which I will gladly share. As a side note, I am strictly going for porn addiction here. I enjoy sex with my girlfriend, as well as hands-free orgasm tantras (but I don't do those tantras often, nor do I have sex with my girlfriend everyday). But I watch porn everyday, and herein lies the problem. To be honest, it doesn't really affect me. I don't feel anything demonizing about pornography. But it could be something simple such as having been exposed to porn for so long, my neural pathways are in such configuration that I can't feel any other way.

I will keep a journal, and will report for a total of 7 times: 1st day, 3rd day, 1st week, 2nd week, 4th week, 1st month, 2nd month.

Today is Friday, April 21st 2:30 am. This is entry number zero.

Thank you @egoeimai

Let's see now......

Today is Saturday, April 22nd 6:00 pm (39.5 hours since start)

Hmm....I have to be honest, I haven't felt much different. Yesterday morning I walk up a little moody but that's normal for me. I had a couple of sexually motivated thoughts, however I haven't really felt the urge to watch porn. I have had a sexual release with my girlfriend. To be honest, I do feel slightly more positive but I have to keep going to see if this will last or if other feelings will come up............Stay tuned!! :D

Next report in 2-3 days!

Dear Actualized.org Community,

Today is Monday, April 24th 7:30 pm (89 hours since start, or 3 days)

Since last report, I have not had a sexual release. However, I have had a sexual dream, but did not cum. Walk up today a little moody, nothing out of the ordinary for me. What's really surprising is I was expecting to have more sexual energy and thoughts, but the opposite is happening - my sexual energy is diminishing, which I don't know if to label a positive response or not. I have always relied on sexual energy to feel more alive, and now without experiencing it, I cannot pin point whether I am getting the right results or not. Stay tuned until the next report which will be done in the next 3 to 4 days marking it a week since start!

Thank you for reading! I hope this will give you good information.

Dear Actualized.org Community,

Today is Saturday April 29th 3:00 pm (1 week and 36.5 hours since start)

I will say this, I haven't noticed anything big of a change. I had a couple of sexual urges. But with or without porn, my life is pretty much still the same. All though I think I finally have concluded that porn makes you judge people based on appearance, a very superficial, and immature way to live life, that's for sure.

I've also witnessed a decrease in my libido, BUT I would say it's still there, and is very subtle. I think it's very important to have sexual energy in your life. And I think that watching porn over the years has disturbed my image of how beautiful sexual activity truly is.

The next report will be a 2 weeks report, which I will post sometime next week.

Thank you for reading this :D

Dear Actualized.org Community,

Today is Saturday May 6th 3:30 am (2 weeks and 26 hours since start)

This is what I noticed since I quit porn. I see 2 big differences:

1. I am not judging women based on appearance as I used to.

  • Watching porn has its cons. Mainly, I think men watching porn project that into real life, and then expect women to act and look the way pornstars do. You become very judgmental and evaluative of everyone you meet. I think I've become more open-minded.

2. I am not getting erections like I used to.

  • I don't know if this point is good, but I used to get erections almost everywhere and any time. And as soon as I had a sexual urge, I would watch some porn, no questions asked. These last two weeks, my sexual urges have gone down, and during the time that I did have a couple of sexual urges, they passed pretty quickly. I didn't even get an erection. You be the judge if that is good or not.

Overall, I can live with porn, I can live without porn. But to a certain extent, I think quitting porn is very beneficial. I'll see how it goes.....

The next report will be a 1 month report which I will post in 2 weeks.

Thank you :)

of course you think you are, that´s the ego.

Addicted people find one way or another to rationalize and continue their addiction. Speaking from experience.

It's okay. I found the middle path. I don't have the urge to masturbate that much anymore. I am having more sex with my gf so I think that's helping me a lot. If I was alone, I'd probably be wanking every hour.

I was just interested in the NoFap thing because I heard something scary on the internet that porn makes you depressed or it changes your brain chemistry. But that's all bullshit. Do what makes you happy. I have never had any negative damage from porn, and with meditation I was able to reduce my need for it.

What I am really interested in beating is my sugar addiction. It's the most powerful addiction that I have. I notice this because when I don't have sugar for a little while, I start panicking.
