  1. Ending the Delusion of Time?♂️
    Ending the Delusion of Time?♂️
    @Ingit
Take a small piece of paper. Write “thinking” on one side, and “awareness” on the other. Keep it with you all day, everyday.
You’ll get lost in thought about the past, and the future.  The opposite of this, is the now.
The piece of paper will constantly remind you.

Lost in thinking?  Just flip the paper to the awareness side. Look at what is in front of you, hear the sounds around you, smell, breathe, feel your body, do a body scan, relax the body.      Awareness.    Mindfulness.     Present.      There is a reason it’s called The Present, and it’s for you brother. ? ? And all is well, it’s from you too. ??

  2. Is "Letting Go" something you do or something that happens when you become aware?
Is "Letting Go" something you do or something that happens when you become aware?
    It is something you do.
Try it right now: just let go of the tension in your right hand.
    Notice you can do it.
    Stop overthinking it.
With psychological issues, you cannot let go of a thing you are not aware of. So in that case you must become aware of it first, then let it go.
Letting go of psychological issues requires repeated letting go. Once does not work.

  3. How to stop caring what people think
How to stop caring what people think
    Releasing tensions in the body.
Certain beliefs about reality create certain muscle strains and certain internal organ positions according to a certain neural pathway dictated by a belief of any kind.

  4. Miyato Musashi. An Enlightened Samurai
    Miyato Musashi. An Enlightened Samurai
Miyato Musashi was an epic samurai who slayed over 60 men in fights and duels during the Edo period.
In his later years he looked back upon his life tearing his soul apart trying to figure out what made his strategy so distinct.

His book is called the Book of Five Rings (Earth, Water, Fire, Wind, No-Thing)
    Here's some quotes by him.

The Way of the Warrior is based on no-thing-ness. No-thing-ness is not to be understood as a "thing" because it then would be based on a conception of something, which would not be no-thing. The Zen term for "no-thing" which is the closest we can come to defining "no-thing" is called Mu.
If you understand what exists then you can understand that which does not exist.  This means that although it is impossible to know that which does not exist, it is possible to know that if anything is anything, then everything is everything.
The spirit is no-thing-ness means that there is no such thing as relying upon anything at all outside of your individual mind.
When students come to understand no-thingness they will also come to understand the koans.
In the Way of the Warrior there is no such thing as thought.
You can come close to understanding no-thing by realizing that there is nothing outside of yourself that can ever enable you to get better, stronger, richer, quicker, or smarter. Everything is within. Everything exists. Seek nothing outside of yourself.
Things will never appear to be what they truly are. But if you look at things with no attachment to them you will come to understand your place.
There is virtue in the universe, but it should not be confused with good and evil. Wisdom exists, principles exist, and the Way of the warrior exists, but spirit is no-thing-ness.
YOU are the Spirit of the Thing Itself!

I believe he was enlightened. Clear signs of Non-Duality, humbled ego and a clear awareness of what he actually is.

  5. How to spark true curiosity?
    How to spark true curiosity?
I love to conceptualize and figure things out. The problem is, I can get attached to concepts.
One thing that helps me: even if I spent a lifetime learning and conceptualizing I will have only explored less than 0.000000000000000000001% of what's out there. Yet, I can focus on that minuscule 0.000000000000000000001% as if it is nearly 100%!
It's like finding a really cool pebble on the beach. It's great to admire it and appreciate it - yet I can get so fixated on it that it becomes my world and I lose awareness that the pebble is such a tiny part of what's out there on the beach and in the ocean. When I realize this, I can drop the pebble and move on (or put the pebble in my pocket and move on).
For me, a mindset of wonder and not knowing is different than a mindset of trying to figure it out and knowing. Each has there time and place, yet it's much easier for me to default to figure-it-out mode.

  6. Add this to the book list
Add this to the book list
Programming and Meta-Programming in the Human Biocomputer by Doctor John C. Lily 10/10
I believe this book should be added to the book list. If you haven't read this book I would highly recommend it. This book is based on Doctor Lily's psychological experiments utilizing a controversial psychoactive substance known as Lysergic Acid Diethylamide, or LSD. The book explains that every human is a programmable entity, a platform which is capable of running a vast amount of programs that each illicit a response to stimuli which causes interactions between programs, thus creating the human mind.
When we are born, we have default programs, such as seeking food, safety, and a secure comfortable environment. As we grow older we install additional programs designed to serve and enhance previous programs, such as learning to speak and desiring social connection, both of which are programs which fulfill the impulses aroused by previous, deeper programs which are based around survival.
Your personality develops as you continue to incorporate more information and build programs which enhance your core functioning.
A fundamental difficulty of the human condition is that 99% of our cognition (thoughts, beliefs, emotions, ideas, etc.) are limited to the our current programming. While you can deliberately program yourself (learning new habits, abandoning old ideas and strategies and embracing new ones) you cannot make any fundamental changes in the mind by changing any single program.
This brings us to the importance of metaprogramming. Your metaprogram is your core programming from which all other programs are designed to serve. Metaprogramming is essentially "Learning how to learn". You are not conscious of your metaprogram, because it is the core of your entire mental functioning. It is your entire approach to existence, which determines how you prioritize information and what thoughts you are capable of having. It is the center of your entire perspective on everything.
It is therefore impossible to change your metaprogram through conventional means. A new program cannot override the pre-existing metaprogram, it can only be incorporated into the existing system and prioritized among other programs based on the agenda of the metaprogram. The mind cannot be manipulated deeply enough by ideas and instructions to change the metaprogram. You can only install new programs and replace old programs which do not serve your metaprogram as effectively.
There does exist a method to change your metaprogram and unlock the full potential of the human mind. In fact, there are nearly limitless possibilities to discover within the human mind once you successfully change your metaprogram. A known method of changing your metaprogram is through the use of LSD.
This book thoroughly discusses how LSD can be used to unlock the mind and change one's metaprogram. I won't delve into the technical details, but essentially LSD seems to have the ability to "loosen up" the human mind. When you are under the influence of LSD, your mind becomes extremely sensitive to stimuli, and consequently it becomes more malleable. When you are in this state, you can directly access your metaprogram and become conscious of it, and even change it. LSD can be described as a "brain scrambler" because it weakens your mind's foundation and it's attachment to various programs. This allows for the mind to create thoughts which are outside your normal programming and you can follow a train of thought all the way back to your original metaprogram.

John C. Lily was a brilliant scientist and he is truly a progenitor of the kind of work that is done at Actualized.org.
This book is based on strict scientific evidence. It demostrates what a serious investigation into the Self truly looks like, and can teach you exactly how to explore the inner workings of your mind, through scientific means. Highly recommended for anybody who is doing inner work, self actualization, seeking enlightenment, transcending the self, studying psychology, or is just plain curious about the fundamental nature of your mind.

    Mind and body
I would say the mind is more like the screaming toddler on the plane kicking the seats.
The body is like the patient mother who sits back and puts up with all the abuse.

  9. I’m not aware but think im during the process
I’m not aware but think im during the process
@Ingit Are you aware that you are resisting feeling low whilst imagining feeling high, thus creating your own suffering?
Happiness is desire for the present moment, regardless of what it is.
Hoping to escape the present moment into the next happy one isn't happiness, it's hell.
    You've got your wires crossed.

  10. Can people that have achieved nonduality experience duality again?
Can people that have achieved nonduality experience duality again?
Nonduality is the unlocking the capacity of the body/mind beyond the only 2 chakras that the majority of people use.
After one is aware of the energetic system in the body, synchronizes it, then nonduality arises.
After unlocking the body and focussing only on the upper side, language, light, good, right etc. Give sufficient time and one gets stuck again in duality.
The same language we use every day to communicate is built in such a manner to make one stay only in duality if one follows the meanings of the dictionary and mainstream schools.

Dude, just enjoy it. What do you expect at 20 years old? Stop being guilty about it.
And carry on with your spiritual practices.
15 minutes of wanking off never stopped no one from enlightenment.

  14. Becoming a full time yogi
    Becoming a full time yogi
The best way for a yogi life is to find a place in the countryside or nature.
Following another system of spiritual groups will only diminish your growth.
Take the example of Gautama if you are really ready for this.
The breath will guide you faster in an alone situation.

If you feel that you need people around, then you are not prepared.
    I don't know.

  15. Why is it that almost nobody is teaching about courage?
Why is it that almost nobody is teaching about courage?
The key to Courage is Cowardness.
Like an addict to something, has to admit he/she is an addict. One has to admit full Cowerdness in order to move on and discover real Courage.
The most powerful motivator in life is going into hopelessness, hope is a mistake.

  16. Shunyamurti on Spiritual Talent & Development - Why some people "get it" faster
Shunyamurti on Spiritual Talent & Development - Why some people "get it" faster
Gifted people tend to take their gifts for granted.
It can be difficult for some gurus to realize just how stuck, dysfunctional, and addicted most people are.
Ralston teaches stuff that 99.9999% of ordinary people will never get.

  17. According to the Buddha, "Who am I?" is an inappropriate question to ask
According to the Buddha, "Who am I?" is an inappropriate question to ask
These are known as the "unanswered questions" which the Buddha always refused to answer because they do not lead to liberation from the stress & suffering of existence, but only to entanglement.
He puts aside questions of identity:
He puts aside questions about the nature of the cosmos, and of the soul:
Instead, the Buddha focuses only on questions dealing with stress & suffering, and how they are caused by actions (conditioned by intentions), without reference to who/what is doing the actions, or who/what is experiencing the entailing stress & suffering.
This is the ultimate compass. This is how to not get lost in the infinitely-recursive rabbit-holes of self-delusion. To not get lost in contrived pragmatically-impotent philosophical conceptual Towers of Babble. To not get lost in equally ridiculous Zen riddles and paradoxes. To not get lost in indecision due to trying to blend together contradictory worldviews and paths.
Zoom in on what this is really all about: putting an end to stress & suffering. Something we all know.

I'm posting here because I'm curious what this community thinks about the above ideas, which seem to run counter to the main theme of this forum.

    Hahaha...
Awakening and Enlightenment is not something you want, trust me. Is more tedious and painful than winning Mr. Olympia.
It does not take much effort to see reality as it is, drugs maybe will do it, or high stages of meditation. The point is reaching all that and maintaining a balance all time. It is an eternal growth, as evolution is.
