  1. My trips are the deepest when I'm just lying down in silence, doing nothing.

I tried tripping with music mostly because I heard that's what they do at Jon Hopkins and stuff.

Found it definitely doesn't lead to more growth for me.

But If I'm not tripping strictly for spiritual growth, then sure, I'll play music from the start.

Then is becomes an aestethic experience of profound beauty.

But mostly only towards the later stages of the trip.

Maybe they use music in studies so it's easier for regular folks to lie down for few hours which is no big deal for experienced meditators?

  2. Increase the dose by 50ug until you get it.

Last time it took 400ug for my ego to completely dissolve.

If you decide to try the higher doses, use the sitter unless you are very familiar with lsd space.

There's definitely correlation between being conscious and sensitivity to psychedelics. For example, 10ug on vipassanana retreat hits me stronger than 50ug when I was using cannabis daily.

    Good luck

Finding a comfortable sitting position is very important. I would say, just find any sitting position you feel comfortable with which allows you to sit for a solid 60 minutes with minimal discomfort.

Right now I've changed up my sitting position to using a Zen-style seize bench with some extra cushioning. So for the pranayamas and breath of fire I am sitting on my knees using that bench. The Mahamudra is done without a bench obviously. That's what I found works best for me.

You could even just do it using a comfy chair.

Again, don't let technical details get in the way of your core practice. Once your core practice is established you can always fine-tune it, change positions, add stuff, remove stuff, etc. But you need the core practice ASAP.

That's good to hear since sitting on my knees is really comfortable for me and actually that's the position I'm already using in my everyday seats.

I use my meditation pillow with that position but I gotta try that bench next time I'm on Vipassana retreat. They look pretty cool!

One more thing - do you place your palms facing up?

Based on the Martin Ball's work and some of my DMT experiences I suspect it may be the way to go although I'm not sure if the protocol of psychedelic induced nondual states directly translates into the practice like this. Any thoughts on this?

  4. I dabbled with kriya some time ago but I found Leo's suggested posture to be extremely uncomfortable for me.

My legs go numb pretty quick and it becomes more about fighting pain than actually doing the practice.

I've tried slight adjustments like the height of the seat but my legs still don't agree with this position at all.

I tried to get used to it for like two weeks but finally gave up.

Would practicing with another posture like vajrasana (which looks like this: https://i.imgur.com/yI1iIMc.jpg) be much less effective than what Leo recommends?

    Thanks.

The more conscious one becomes, the smaller doses one should need to have deep insights. That's my theory.

    I think that, too.

I had quite a few full-trip-level insights while meditating on 10-20ug last year when I was doing lots of meditation and consciousness work.

I've fallen off track a bit since then and nowadays such insights doesn't come to me on such low doses.

I am in the finders course right now.  We are in the middle of it.  Its not easy, but i have been seeing amazing benefits in my own life...less stress more compassion, greater clarity and focus, more ability to see situations as they are, more productivity and creativity, etc... This has been hands down one of the mose practical, beneficial and challenging courses i have ever had.  The challenge is that you have to be actively engaged in this and not skipping things or cramming can be diffiuclt i have heard.  For me, it is very clear that my life is an illusion if i am not living from my personal truth (which is all encompassing).  To live from that centered place is the only place or life worth living for me, so i am excited to do all the homework and meditate and observe everyday.

happy to answer and questions if u r seriously considering this course,

    peace and blessings,

Please say more about the techniques themselves. I'm curious what is it that makes them supposedly so effective.

  7. Any explanation why does this happen?

I'm not on any anti-depressant meds by the way.

Did some research on my own and found that the feeling I experienced may actually be Exploding Head Syndrome (EHS).

Here's some post I came across on shroomery forums:

I was browsing the forum recently whilst searching the web for information on hypnagogic hallucinations and I found a number of threads from people complaining about 'brain zaps' and electric shock-like sensations in the brain. I thought I'd give you some info based on what I know. Hopefully this will help someone.

Firstly, when people are talking about 'brain zaps' here, they are often confusing it with the symptoms of hypnagogic hallucinations (specifically EHS), brain zaps are actually an SSRI withdrawal symptom and they are very different from hypnagogic hallucinations. Brain zaps are far more frequent and often the shock sensations go right down the shoulders into the arms and hands. They occur during certain movements and they usually go away within a week or so following a cessation of SSRI treatment. They can be avoided with a longer taper of the drug you were taking (reducing the dosage over a longer period as opposed to going 'cold turkey'). Brain zaps are more evident during the day as you move around and less noticeable at night.

Exploding Head Snydrome (EHS) is a rare type of hypnagogic hallucination that presents itself at the onset of sleep. It's a very sudden shock that presents itself with a loud noise (a bang/explosion) and can be accompanied by a flash. It's quite scary and can make people extremely anxious following the event and prior to sleeping but it's not known to have ever caused any harm and it certainly won't kill you.

Hypnagogic hallucinations normally occur due to a lack of sleep or an irregular sleeping pattern which causes a person to be fatigued throughout the day; a condition known as 'excessive daytime sleepiness'. Excessive daytime sleepiness and other types of narcolepsy can be treated with stimulants such as modafinil, however if you're suffering from a sleep disorder, the first step I would suggest would be to look at your sleeping schedule. You could try low doses (5-15mg) of amitriptyline an hour or so before you go to bed. Amiyriptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant which suppresses REM sleep (i.e., you won't dream).

The part about irregular sleeping patterns possibly causing it definitely checks out with me. I wake up several times every single fucking night and very often feel sleepy during the day.

Wikipedia also has some good information about this strange thing: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exploding_head_syndrome

  8. Today, while I was doing my daily HoloSync session I experienced going deeper than usual.

Moment by moment, my sense of self would fade away more and more.

Then, suddenly, I experienced a shock, I could best describe as connecting high voltage directly to your brain.

As you can imagine, that scared me quite a bit, my heart rate immediately went up which lasted for 1-2mins and then everything went back to normal.

This was actually my second "jolt" experience.

I had my first one about 6 months ago while I was meditating on relatively low dose of acid.

That time it was more intense (well... acid :) ) and literally scared the shit out of me. Happily, I managed to collect myself and didn't go into full bad trip mode ;)

So... what do you guys make of this? Has anyone experienced anything similar?
