  1. There you go. Now, the moment you go ahead and apply that principle of "I acknowledge that I don't know that XYZ is true but I also don't know that it isn't" to literally everything that can be said about so-called reality and fully let that realization hit you, you will have found the non-answer to all of your silly, relentless & desperate questions TA-DAAA!, as some bald guy on Youtube likes to say.
  2. Tbh I kind of imagined him as some nutty asperger kid sitting 24/7 in front of a computer in his mom's basement while being zonked out on meds, lol. - Anyway, I get a much more sensible and self aware vibe from him in this thread than ever before, so that's a nice change.
  3. Perfect. "No answer" is the REAL answer.
  4. @softlyblossoming My pleasure! Just a little word of warning: What I told you might sound like super simple advice, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's easy to put into practice. The whole journey of letting go is a pretty bumpy and counterintuitive process, so don't get discouraged if you don't immediately feel like a freaking Buddha overnight.
  5. Well, I have been meditating for five years and in a certain sense still am struggling with it... however, I feel that I am resisting the struggle less and less these days, which I guess is really the whole 'trick', if you will. The moment you can fully allow your self to 'suck at meditation', you no longer suck at meditation. Or to put it another way: The struggle is the meditation, if you just let it be. One thing that I have found helpful is practicing the Sedona Method, which is all about allowing whatever comes up and letting it go. Check out Hale Dwoskin's book if you're interested.
  6. Spot on. Meditation is not a means to an end but the end of all means... it's not something that you do but something that makes you realize you're already done.
  7. @catcat69123 Interesting. How exactly do you do shadow work? I've tried to get into it this past year but had pretty mixed results... from what you wrote it sounds like you found a method that really works for you, so any tips would be appreciated.
  8. As always, it all completely depends on your own personal notion of what exactly makes a person 'enlightened' or 'not enlightened'. There are countless examples of artists who produce(d) 'enlightened art' while showing none of the traits that are usually attributed to so-called enlightened/self realized beings. My favorite go-to example of this is Richard Wagner who, by all accounts, was one of the most egotistical and bigoted pieces of human excrement that have ever walked the earth, and yet this asshole composed some of the most breathtakingly transcendent music that has ever been written by anyone. (Try listening to Richard Wagner's Tristan und Isolde or Parsifal while tripping on acid and then come tell me that the dude who wrote this wasn't at least half enlightened, lol. I mean, it's absolutely mind-boggling how a guy like that could ever create such divine art... which of course only ads to the sheer sense of wonder and fascination that I always get whenever I listen to this stuff.)
  9. Lol. Still chasing after labels, meanings and definitions, eh? Well, don't let me spoil your fun. Just don't act surprised when it finally dawns on you that all of this mental gymnastics won't ever get you anywhere.
  10. Mmmm, now that's what I call a truly solid piece of investigative journalism.
  11. Lmao, I commend all of you guys for your patience. This is like pouring gallons and gallons of water into a bucket with a hole in the bottom... a truly Buddhist practice, come to think of it. @WokeBloke Seriously dude, what are you hoping to achieve here that you (literally) haven't achieved with your previous 500 threads about the exact same topic? You think that thread number five hundred and one is somehow going to hand you the magic answer on a silver platter? It's not so much that you are 'wrong' about anything. It's just that what you are doing here is hopelessly futile. You are like a guy in a forest who is zeroing in on some tree, scrutinizing every square inch of its surface in the hope of eventuall being able to see the entirety of the forest if he just looks hard enough at the damn tree standing right in front of him. - Well guess what, it aint going to work. The thing to do is to step back from the tree, look around and notice that you are standing in the middle of a fucking forrest! Or keep playing that game you're playing till kingdom come. Your choice.
  12. Wow. Following these links, I just stumbled upon an amazing guided letting go meditation by Julien Blanc: https://youtu.be/89UNsttg30c Don't be deceived by Julien's idiosyncratic speaking style. This is powerful stuff!
  13. Uh-oh, the Neo Advaita police has arrived. Hide the booze!
  14. @Dazgwny Of course it is pointless to mourn the illusory passing away of an illusory person. And it's equally pointless to point this out to a bunch of illusory people on an illusory online forum. You get my point? All of life is pointless, if you haven't noticed.
  15. Lol. Okay, if you really expect others to just laugh and shrug it off when you ask if you are "having a stroke or something" (your words, not mine), then that is exactly what I will do from now on. Cheers
  16. You think it's funny to make other people worried about your mental state? Anyway, I've said my piece, do with it what you will.
  17. Hilarious. Well, if you don't take your own mental well being serious, then that's your business I guess. Peace out.
  18. This is just my utterly unqualified layman's opinion of course, but this sounds suspiciously like something a person suffering from schizophrenia might report... Might want to get yourself checked, just to be safe.
  19. We'll talk again in ten years from now, at which point you will most likely have crossed the one million trip mark and tell people "if you have done under a million trips, you have no clue at all about the true potential of psychedelics". LOL (It always made me chuckle whenever I heard you say that certain people haven't even reached 1% of what's possible. How could anyone ever reach one percent of infinity?)
  20. Holy fuck. Dude, take it easy, and don't let other people's psychedelic dick measuring contests pressure you into biting off more than you can chew. This is not an olympic contest where the first one to cross the finish line gets a gold medal. There isn't even a finish line here, so what's the rush?
