@softlyblossoming My pleasure! Just a little word of warning: What I told you might sound like super simple advice, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's easy to put into practice. The whole journey of letting go is a pretty bumpy and counterintuitive process, so don't get discouraged if you don't immediately feel like a freaking Buddha overnight.

Well, I have been meditating for five years and in a certain sense still am struggling with it... however, I feel that I am resisting the struggle less and less these days, which I guess is really the whole 'trick', if you will. The moment you can fully allow your self to 'suck at meditation', you no longer suck at meditation. Or to put it another way: The struggle is the meditation, if you just let it be. One thing that I have found helpful is practicing the Sedona Method, which is all about allowing whatever comes up and letting it go. Check out Hale Dwoskin's book if you're interested.

Spot on. Meditation is not a means to an end but the end of all means... it's not something that you do but something that makes you realize you're already done.

@catcat69123 Interesting. How exactly do you do shadow work? I've tried to get into it this past year but had pretty mixed results... from what you wrote it sounds like you found a method that really works for you, so any tips would be appreciated.

As always, it all completely depends on your own personal notion of what exactly makes a person 'enlightened' or 'not enlightened'. There are countless examples of artists who produce(d) 'enlightened art' while showing none of the traits that are usually attributed to so-called enlightened/self realized beings. My favorite go-to example of this is Richard Wagner who, by all accounts, was one of the most egotistical and bigoted pieces of human excrement that have ever walked the earth, and yet this asshole composed some of the most breathtakingly transcendent music that has ever been written by anyone. (Try listening to Richard Wagner's Tristan und Isolde or Parsifal while tripping on acid and then come tell me that the dude who wrote this wasn't at least half enlightened, lol. I mean, it's absolutely mind-boggling how a guy like that could ever create such divine art... which of course only ads to the sheer sense of wonder and fascination that I always get whenever I listen to this stuff.)
