  1. I regret letting sadguru blow my back out. In hindsight, it wasn't right action. Sincerely though, probably not taking an antidepressant earlier
  2. Go to zoo bar in Leicester square lmao. There are about 25 puas per square inch in that venue lol. or use the website game global
  3. Would recommend see-hear-feel meditation guide. Also, reflect on why you think your past did not go as you would have liked and what you could do now instead.
  4. @Something Funny Tricky one imo. Because ADHD and some other issues can have similar symptoms. I know confusion between ADHD and CPTSD is a tricky one. Its not uncommon in ADHD folk to have both from what I've seen because life with undiagnosed ADHD can be traumatic af. I'd say the effect of stimulant medication is a good tell. If you have ADHD it should calm you down, and give you an alert focus. However, if you don't then you'll get really wired on it and jittery, I believe. Also, regarding the distinction between cptsd and adhd, you can investigate to what extent you have a history of traumas. Here is a vid that can help on that distinction too: I guess also getting a well regarded diagnostic psychiatrist could help. Also, someone I knew recommended that you could get brain scans that helped with diagnosis. But I haven't explored that myself so don't know too much about it.
  5. @Something Funny Got diagnosed with it, though likely a cptsd misdiagnosis. But in the few years I was diagnosed with it, I researched a lot about it and spent a fair amount of time in online adhd communities.
  6. @Something Funny Yeah if you have ADHD, I'd really recommend taking medication for it.
  7. Hey, I think the book, 'The artist's way' by Julia Cameron could be helpful for you. Especially, the journaling method she advocates called 'Morning pages'.
  8. Concentration meditation or IFS are good starts imo. Especially the former
  9. @Thought Art You the man bro. I like the thread.
  10. The IFS self therapy book series by Jay Earley is a good resource for this sort of thing too, imo. Thing is your gonna be a newbie doing this sort of thing on yourself. Compared to having the expertise of a higher level IFS therapist. So, good to have a mentor via a higher level therapist I think. Can be especially tricky if you have issues accessing self. At least that was the case for me. I tried a lot of self ifs work but didn't get much progress with it.
  11. Here are some recommendations from me. (* = My top recommendations) 1. Try and run some *PSTEC click tracks. Its an NLP/ Hypnosis program which helps eliminate strong emotions linked to memories. (Bit hard to find online though maybe) 2. *IFS therapy (Try and work with a therapist with a level 2 IFS training or above. Bonus if they also work as a program assistant.) 3. Read *Pete Walker's CPTSD surviving to thriving (Also look into CPTSD in general) 4. EMDR (If you have numerous traumatic memories, or they occurred over prolonged period, would prioritize IFS therapy) 5. TRE exercises 6. Psychiatric medication 7. Journaling
  12. “Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come. You wait and watch and work: you don’t give up.” - Anne Lamott
  13. Yello peeps, Thought I'd start another journal up. Closed my previous one for now at least. Have been feeling pretty isolated without a journal, and would be nice I feel to start one up again. Still battling against the mental health issues, namely dissociation. I've made some big steps forward I'd say. I'm currently seeing an osteopath/ cranial guy, and also an acupuncture lady once per week. The acupuncture is pretty mind blowing because it has given me my first experiences of coming out of dissociation. It was pretty shocking to me at first because it showed me just how dissociated I've been all my life. Like, I expected things to be different outside of dissociation but not as different as they became. Mostly in terms of the difference in vision. Such a mind fuck for me all of this. Acupuncture is the first thing that has made any noticeable difference to my dissociation. And thank god for that. I'm a couple of sessions into the osteopath guy too now. The osteopathy is very interesting to me. It works through the practioner touching or holding various parts of your body. I think there is some sort of energy work involved with it. But I feel the combination of these is great. I'm v grateful to have the financial means to access these both simultaneously. Also, have been working a lot on see-hear-feel meditation. I've found some stuff that actually works. Namely, outer see with rapid finger tapping. Have been dealing with lots and lots of flashbacks though. And, lots of effects of gaslighting. Because a big thing has been lots of people denying my CPTSD and dissociation. Its been an incredibly isolating experience for me. I also have a two week mahasi noting retreat booked in for next month. Have also met with two potential therapists. Both with a somatic focus and a focus on dissociation. Plus, recently cut out a friend from university.
  14. The old seek first to understand then to be understood is a good principle in my opinion. Sort of say what they said to you in a reworded format, and be like 'Am i understand correctly that you... [insert reworded]' Failing that, crucial conversations is a good one imo.
  15. IFS. Even just knowing the theory is helpful imo.
  16. Really recommend this line of massage guns. If price is an issue, can look into getting one second hand
  17. @Bear632 Deep tissue type stuff imo. Also, not just doing it one off, but say twice a month or something like that, I'd say. But better still, I'd try see a massage practioner who will sort of tailor their approach based on how your body reacts imo.
  18. Sign you've grown imo Also, you might like the book, 'The power of regret' By Daniel Pink
  19. Hey dude, Am impressed by the action you're taking. Sounds to me like you are doing the right sorts of things. Perhaps also adding in massage to help with the trauma trapped in the form of body tension could help too.
  20. Yeeeee boiiiii. Death to normies!
