Option A. Blame kids in Africa for their predicament.

Option B. Blame idiots who believe in the Law of Attraction for not being compassionate.

Option C. Envision health and well being for kids in Africa, and be open and looking for a way to act to help, when one appears as it will inevitably, act on it with joy and enthusiasm.

Option C is the actual understanding and utilization of the Law of Attraction.

If there were really separate selves, and cause and effect, we could blame or credit them for attracting their circumstances. But there aren't, so we cannot do that. What we can do is focus on creating a life and world that we want in our experience. The only thoughts we experience are ours so it is up to us to align our thoughts with what we want. If we blame someone for their thoughts, that's just an unaligned thought of our own.

There is no blame here.  Everyone is simply acting out their genes + conditioning.

I'm simply pointing out the absurdity of believing that one's imagination can alter their life circumstances.  The only thing that can change your circumstances is taking ACTION.

P.S.  I had seen one or two of your videos on Youtube a few months ago but didn't realize who you were on Actualized.org until now.  You're one of the better posters here.  I'm shocked you haven't been offered a moderating role.

  2. Fall is the best time of year for me.  Not too hot, not too cold.  And beauty all around you.

Yes, in Northern Europe autumn is so cozy, and I always feel some sort of deep nostalgia when autumn comes. Its amazing.

I know what you mean about the nostalgia.  It's quite mysterious.

That's what PurpleTree generally does, thanks though

Beginner Mind finds this hard to believe. ;)

Being Aware of Being Aware is the doorway to lasting peace.  I assure you, it can never make you feel worse.  In fact, it is the only experience that will never let you down.  Everything in your life will leave you at some point.  Your friends and family will all die, your possessions come and go.  But the experience of being aware will always remain, for as long as you live.  Take refuge there.  Be aware of being aware.

There is a lot of suffering that one can experience in this life. Some people are lucky they experience less suffering and some people are just fated to be in the middle of some extreme shit like starving kids in Africa etc.   Suffering exists so let's not waste time arguing about whether it exists or not.. My question is there a salvation? A permanent end to all forms of suffering?  If so what it is?  Because I don't think there is such a way except permanent annihilation.

Please make your response non - classical and nuanced because it's so easy to deconstruct woo woo unrealistic answers. Thanks

The simplest way to relieve yourself of suffering is to be aware of being aware.  Simply relax the focus of your attention, notice that you are aware, and rest in that experience.  After a period of time, peace and contentment will flood the body, and suffering will dissolve.

"This words do not solve my suffering."

What do you think about that type of person, what would you say to them?

Of course words won't alleviate your suffering.  You have to actually do the practice.  Just be aware of being aware, and stay there.  It may take 10 minutes, it may take an hour.  Every body-mind is different.  But rest assured, sooner or later, peace and fulfillment will present itself.

'What is' is all there is and you are it. What more fulfilment is needed? Yes, being aware of your existential nature helps 'see' this, but even without this understanding, you're still existentially complete and 'fulfilled', because Being is infinite and self- contained and you embody it.

Slow down there, Tony Parsons. ;)

I can only speak from personal experience, and from personal experience it is known that being aware of being aware reveals a sense of fulfillment.  I don't claim to be enlightened by any means.  I'm just becoming more familiar with my true nature.  For now, that's sufficient.

    Can you be more specific?

What do you think about the teachings of Nisagardatta Maharaj of sticking to the "i am" feeling?

The experience of being aware is the 'I am'.  No difference.  To rest in the 'I am' is to rest as awareness.  However, I prefer to talk about it in terms of being aware of being aware; telling someone to locate the 'I am' may just confuse them.

  8. I used to think Self-realization was difficult, that it involved a method of somehow focusing on the 'I am' or 'being aware of being aware', but actually what I've recently discovered is that resting in your Being, the Stillness that you are, is actually simpler than breathing.  All you have to do is sit in silence (and even that might not be required), exercise some patience and simply notice the subtle peaceful Being that you are.  It requires no effort on your part.  Just be sensitive to the subtle peace that is always with you, that IS you.  Enjoy. :)
