  1. If it's not in their experience, then it's just an idea. You can only introduce the possibility. One strategy is through  a line of questioning such as "is it possible that you may be taking yourself to be something you're not"? Or, "Consider the possibility that you may be more than what you think you are".
"Without referring to thought, what are you?" "Body and mind are limitations, what are you beyond these limitations"?

You have to keep pointing to what is there, beyond the mental and physical aspects of existence. Until they experience something beyond these two limitations, then any statement that "you are perfect" or "you are god" or "love  and joy is your nature" are simply empty statements that require belief.
    Experience doesn't need belief.

  2. This is what it's all about. Stripping away the false to reveal the true.

There's no chance of ever coming  to know anything If you believe you already know. To realize, "I don't know" , is not only crucial, but necessary.

Ultimately, without belief you have no identity.

Yep. The belief that you are a some-thing, or a ,some-body  is the root cause of "separation".

"Being in the world, but not of it"  means,
To act out your somebodiness , while at the same time, being fully aware of your nobodiness,

    Excellent post@trenton . ?

  3. What "you", Reality, ultimately are, doesn't exist in time or space. Reality knows itself as itself alone and knows nothing of time or place. There is no such thing as a "past: or a "future" other than thought and or memory.
In the absence of thought, where is "time". It is a concept and nothing more. "We","You"i.e.,  Reality, have never experienced time (i.e., past and future). It is only the belief that we experience time, that time comes into apparent existence.  "You" are always Now, and can never leave Now, to experience a "past" or "future".

  4. "Self"  is nothing different than all the other countless names given to That (i.e., God, Brahman,Tao, Consciousness, Awareness etc.etc.). It's no different from Buddhist No-Self either. There is all this argument between Self and No- Self, when they actually refer to the same Reality. No-Self realization in Buddhism is called Nirvana. Again, Nirvana is yet just another name. It is the same realization of that reality as all the other spiritual traditions.
What is to be experientially realized is that there is only  this One, timeless, boundless, pervading reality  and nothing else. Regardless of whatever name is given to it. The only "danger" in using "Self" (capital S), or "I" is for those who have not yet realized the utter non-existence of an individual self/person/ego which arises from the deep-rooted thought-feeling "I am this body". This idea and/or thought-feeling, that the body (insentient matter), and mind (thoughts and tendencies)  are the one  conscious-aware existence reality, is the root cause of the "apparently" existing "person" "ego" or "self" i,e., (small s).  When fully seen through, the indescribable is experienced and realized to be what has always been, but "veiled", as it were, by ignorance of the real nature or state of things.
Although there are no "things" lol. xD

The problem is it would have been ridiculous if it had been entirely untrue.

But then I looked up the definition and did some research on my own and found that I did engage in emotional vampire behaviors myself like threatening someone etc.

That lead me to think that I must have some darkness in me.

The thing is by using this logic almost every person on planet earth is an energy vampire, not to imply that it's redundant because of its universality, just that being more conscious of it opens up channels for further cleansing and healing of the personality, when these impurities are removed, a better higher self emerges.

It's like if I said I'm guilty of lying. And someone says "that's okay because everyone lies" but honestly that's not okay, the better road would be to stop lying or at least minimize it and create as much high consciousness and clamp down on low consciousness so you clean up your energies and the energies of your environment, imagine if everyone did this then the world will be a better place.

Often times we shame the negative so much that we just don't confront it, because our ego just cannot handle such self negativity, so we rather turn a blind eye to it than detect and improve on it, this happens because of excessive shaming that actually blocks the process of reversal or healing by simply demonizing the whole aspect of scanning for flaws, the ego is so resistant that it just doesn't want to hear that it must have fucked up in some way unconsciously and so the growth never happens because that channel is always blocked by insecurity, pride, tension, fear and ego.

To me, that's quite a bit of clarity and insight. To acknowledge it and seek to heal it takes a lot of courage. Just by seeing this alone is a huge step. The spiritual path is certainly not always sunshine and roses.it can be tough. I sincerely wish you the best.❤️

  6. To be something, whatever it may be, you would have to know how to be it. You would have to have some knowledge of how to be it in order to be it, otherwise you could not be that thing. Since you are wondering if you could be that thing,it means you have no knowledge of being that thing or how to be it or even become it. It is a false imagination of creating a thought, seeing it as a problem to solve or get out of, then trying to find a solution to get out of it. When it was never a reality or problem in the first place.
See the joke and nonsense in all of this. It's quite ridiculous, really.

Just to note,I'm not saying you are ridiculous. This is how mind creates problems then tries to solve them. It creates its own problem to get out of. It really is ridiculous and kind of funny to watch,if you're just watching it. xD

  7. "Now", if understood experientially, and not intellectually, it is found to be timeless/eternal. Time is the mind/thought (i.e. projections of a past and future). In the absence of these mental projections of past/memory and imagination of future, there is no experience of time, All that's left is the experience of a still, silent, space-like,timeless/eternal reality.
Just  look at your experience and see that you never leave, nor can you ever leave the Now/present moment and experience a past or future moment. They are always imagined and projected upon the timeless reality of now. Even if you were to travel to another solar system, now is always now and it never changes. Even if the whole universe were to disappear along with everyone and everything, Now would still be Now and is not dependent on anyone or anything for its existence. In fact, it is prior to existence.
