Yes, you can take those drugs together.
However, if you are experiencing side effects (like the one mentioned in your other thread), please consult your local healthcare provider asap. You might need a dose adjustment or reevaluation.

Thank you. I am just scared because I have been watching videos about stories of drug addiction.

And there is this term called speedballing. Where you inject together at the same time heroin & meth/cocaine.

Supposedly this is a very dangerous combination because one drug tells your body to go go go and the other one is an extreme downer.

I don't know how much truth is behind this rumor.

But I believe that if someone were to take anti anxiety medication and also drink coffee at the same time, he would have no problems whatsoever.

In fact there are probably millions who do this every single day.

Look, these are questions you should ask your doctor. Don't make us feel responsible if something bad happens to you from mixing drugs.

I just want extra information. And to be honest even if I ask my doctor she probably won't have a clue....

I don't feel like I am mixing these drugs but I understand your point.

I specifically take one drug at morning and the other at night. The half life is long but from experience.. I feel Modafinil working for about 8 hours.

This whole half life thing doesn't make much sense when you don't even feel the drug working anymore.

Also how many people are there who take benzos and also drink coffee that have no problems whatsoever.

    I don't feel anything weird.

If you were to mix cocaine and heroin then yeah that could make your heart stop supposedly. But even then it usually doesn't happen.

  3. I take olanzopine & lorazepam before sleep. I was prescribed these drugs for a short period of time by my psychiatrist.

Anyways I am also taking 200mg modafinil (not prescribed) only at morning.

I haven't felt anything wrong or weird in my direct experience. Only one day when I drank too much coffee I felt my heart a lil bit weird but nothing serious.

The reason I'm afraid is because lorazepam calms the nervous system while Modafinil does the exact opposite. And both drugs have long half lives.

I don't feel anything bad though. Also how many people for example smoke weed while they drink coffee. And they have no issues.

    Should I be Worried?

    Contraindications

There are few, if any, absolute contraindications to the use of modafinil. However, the following is a list of relative contraindications, cautions, and special considerations:

    • Dermatological reaction: If serious rash including Stevens-Johnson syndrome develops, discontinue modafinil at the first sign of rash, unless the rash is clearly not drug-related.
    • Angioedema and Anaphylaxis Reactions: If suspected, discontinue modafinil.
    • Multiorgan Hypersensitivity Reactions: If suspected, discontinue modafinil.
    • Persistent Sleepiness: Monitor patients frequently for a degree of sleepiness and, if appropriate, recommend patients to avoid engaging or driving in any other potentially dangerous activity.
    • Cardiovascular disease: In patients with preexisting cardiovascular conditions, consider increased monitoring. Modafinil is not recommended in patients with documented left-ventricular hypertrophy or a history of the previous cardiotoxicity related to psychostimulant use. It should be used with caution in patients with uncontrolled hypertension, unstable angina, or recent myocardial infarction.
    • Psychiatric disorders: Modafinil should be used with caution in patients with a history of psychosis and/or mania. Such patients should be monitored for hallucinations, delusions, mania, aggression, and suicidal ideation upon starting modafinil. Discontinuation is advised if these symptoms develop.
    • Tic disorders: Limited evidence suggests that all CNS stimulants may exacerbate tics in patients with pre-existing tic disorders. A baseline assessment of tics is recommended before initiating treatment.

Sounds like you should be safe if you don't fall into the list but be careful and use common sense - if you're getting too many symptoms, cut the dose or cut it out altogether

    Thank you.

Michael this drug has been a pain in the a$$..  Because it so easily messes up your sleep lol. I took 200mg one day and no problems. The next day I took same dose and at night I woke up after 4 hours of sleep feeling like crap lol.

I've found out how the drug builds in your system and can stay for days.

Very tricky drug. Only if you take like 50mg per day you don't have to worry.

What's your take on it? Have you personally used this medicine?

  5. Is Modafinil Safe for the heart? I've taken from 50mg up to 200mg.

I've heard that people with heart issues should avoid it. But I don't understand/know the reasoning behind this argument.

The 200mg dose makes me feel a slight pressure sensation in my heart. It doesn't feel bad bad but still worries me. I guess my blood pressure goes up. I have no clue really. Would love some constructive feedback.

Also i drink coffee. Don't know if it contributes to the sensation. Also the sensation lasts a couple of hours only.

When you chat with Leo he is talking in very different level than you about changing oneself. He is trying to make a point about changing the whole system you're using to think things from. I am 22 yo and I already see how that probably never will change for me, but its's just more nuance on top of what already exists. Of course in the level you are speaking you can be changed man in a month and next time in a next month if you do things correctly and that should be your aim.

    Hmm.. Interesting..

Why the whole system cannot be changed? Is this negative?

I can understand that things like your innate love of learning or curiosity not even changing,  & that's a pretty good thing.

I would say that this won't really happen. You will not become a completely new person. The core of you will stay the same. But you will become a more evolved, more mature version of you.

The truth is that after 15+ years of personal development and spiritual work the core of me has not changed. I'm still me in very deep ways. But also I've grown up a lot. It's rather paradoxical. An important part of this work is deeply accepting who you are, not trying to totally change yourself. The human mind is not flexible enough to totally change itself. Especially once you reach about age 30, much of who you are is set for life. But you can do a lot of refinement of yourself and polish off the jagged edges.

I don't know.. This all seems pretty negative & hopeless to me. What do you mean the core of me won't change?

Can you give some examples so i understand?

If you mean my Kindness or Love of Learning or Curiosity , then yeah i agree with that.

The brain is always changing. You just need more attention and effort to change it as you grow older. I continously change and learn new stuff. I consider my mind very very flexible.

As i said previously, if someone is a smoker or a drinker and then stops & lives a completely different lifestyle that's a changed man.

Or another example is with people who suffer from OCD. They literally have to change their brain over time doing while doing ERP and they become different people. They no longer react to fear and uncertainty the same way. That's a whole 180 degrees reversal to their orientation towards fear. I speak from direct experience here.

Examples of a changed person below. This guy was a hardcore criminal and drug addict. Now he is sober & a counselor helping drug addicts to recover.

This guy was a harcore gang member full of hate. Now he goes to church every weekend and has loving relationships around him.

Leo doesn't understand sexual transmutation. He still thinks sexual transmutation means no sex. Semen retention doesn't mean you can't have sex. It is bad look on him he doesn't understand basic spiritual technologies. For me sexual transmutation was transformational but you have to do it the right way and it will be one of the hardest thing you will do.

  9. I remember few years ago.. when i was practicing semen retention.. and Leo made a sarcastic response saying smthing like :

    Quote

You may as well practice no sh*t.

This was probably the most low consciousness thing i ever seen posted from Leo.. and it really shocked me.....

I don't know exactly what he meant. But if he meant what i think then that's pretty disapointing.

Because not reacting like an animal to all your urges is truly a practice. Not doing something can also be a practice and a super difficult one.

Not reacting to all your thoughts, fears, urges and etc is the hardest thing to do (or not do ^_-) in the world.

And Leo's video about Letting Go is similar to semen retention. It's exactly the same concept. Letting go, not reacting.

I have experience with this because i recovered from my severe OCD by doing exposure response prevention. Where you basically stop reacting to all the sh*t your mind throws at you. And it was the most difficult thing i ever did.

I think Leo has not much direct experience with semen retention and it's too hard for him to do(We all have our own weaknesses). Maybe in his 60s he will be saying something totally different.

Of course those kind of changes can happen. But I would argue that that doesn't make you fundamentally different. Those are incremental improvements which you can make from year to year. And there can also be backsliding.

I recommend that rather than getting preoccupied with radical change that you focus on small consistent practices and self-improvements. Those will add up over 10 years into something great.

For example, a daily 20min visualization practice done for 10 years will make a huge change of your mind.

Ok. So what you are suggesting basically is that by doing these small practices year by year eventually after a decade you become a completely new person.

Although i would argue that some things you rate as small improvements make you fundamentally different (for example being a smoker vs non-smoker).

Or another example that's connected to me. Facing fear vs avoiding fear. That's a fundamental difference and not a mere small improvement in my opinion.

How would you define someone being fundamentally different?

Thats a good goal, do you already have a background in programming if so maybe try to get hired into a big company like google and apple to start off the financial and expert skill building process. After building a foundation both career, financial and skill wise you can start a business as that takes $$$. Its ok working at google will pay very well.

I have a very good foundation of the basics of HTML, CSS & Javascript.

Working for Google is a very difficult task to accomplish.

I am currently in the process of making a portfolio so i can apply for jobs here in Greece. If things don't work out here, i may need to go to the Netherlands or somewhere else where someone will give me an opportunity.

I have what it takes but it's really hard to enter this industry. Most businesses are ruthless and they look for all sorts of diplomas & etc. Keep in mind i am self-taught.

This guy is a motivation for me because he got into the industry in his early 30s and now makes 6 figures.

Program yourself to trust the universe and to recognize that your highest vision and life are already here in every breath, sensation, sound, emotion, feeling, thought, situation and state. Program yourself that everything happening is a confirmation and a stepping stone for your highest vision.

If it works for you, include a minimum of 30 minute visualization in the morning.

I also agree with identity being the key:

@SQAAD In all detail, how would your identity feel like when you live your highest vision in daily life?

With meditative focus, choose contrary action (not only useful for recovering addicts; listen to this multiple times if needed):

    What does contratry action means?

Yes i completely agree that being spiritually connected to God is very important. And thankfully i am connected to God more than ever before in my life. I am receiving guidance and clues.

First I'll throw different perspective to @Someone here's suggestion. I wouldn't advice reducing or stopping spiritual practices, but just use them to generate energy to change one's life materially if you wish to put it that way. With higher consciousness you'll make higher consciousness decisions and those will carry your stage orage cleaning job even higher dimensions you ever thought before. Also there's deep connection between general self-help and spirituality that many people don't see properly. It's easier to change lifestyle when you work on your "karma" or traditionally called "trauma" using spiritual methods. Also it's so much easier to meditate when you know you've done what you must've done for the day or a week. It gives you extra peace of mind.

Fastest and best method to adjust one's personality or life as a whole happens by deeply contemplating one's philosophy and how that manifests in actuality in day to day life. What type of person you'd wish to be? How that person would value things, how that person would make decisions and from what observation angle? Answering those questions will set you a goal of a person you're aiming to unleash from inside. Now you have a plan and that gives you stability and motivation. Next thing is to really master self-integrity and start doing what needs to be done. It should be non-negotiable to always consider and do the best move on the board or otherwise there's no point in anything.

    -joNi-

Yes i believe if you infuse Spirituality to ordinary stage orange stuff you can be much more effective and happier as a person.

Spirituality, connecting to God makes me a lot more creative and intelligent.

I just need to focus more on the basics of survival but not completely ignore my top#1 value which is.. Consciousness.

Realistically you are not going to become a completely different person in a few years, and that expectation will tend to hinder you.

You need a longer timeline of more like 10 years+. But then again, it may not be a good idea to think so far ahead so that you can focus on the next few years.

If you really wanna change you gotta be patient and realistic about it.

I don't know about that. For example i was very lazy for years and then all of a sudden one day i had enough & i've never been that lazy again. Some kinda of shift happened.

Same thing with my addiction to marijuana. One day i just said fk with this BS. But yes you could argue that it took years of suffering to reach that point of disenchantment.

What would you recommend for identity-level change? Should i just focus on repeating good habits day in and day out? What else should i be doing to get the most juice out of this transformation process?

Yes, that's very simplified but you could put it that way!

Difficult to tell if it's necessary. Personally, I would include the breathhold - it's just the way the exercise is set up in the first place.
Maybe a complete breathhold is necessary to induce certain physiological changes - I don't know that.

Maybe try it out and notice any subjective differences.

Do you believe not including the breathhold could be somewhat dangerous? What's your take on it?

I've seen Andrew Huberman recommending 10-15 deep breaths for a quick burst of energy without breathhold.

You said that when you do breathold CO2 slowly raises & pH drops... but if i just breath normally after 30 breaths, won't the same process happen???

I have done deep breathing without breatholds for like 2 hours few years ago. It cleansed me of some real deep trauma. I was crying for days afterwards. Very very therapeutic.

I also know that Whim Hof has done deep breathing for hours also.

Do you think doing many many deep breaths without any breathhold could be dangerous? (I am talking in the context of being wise and listening to your body)

Thank you for your time sir.

  19. Hello everyone.

My objective is to transform to a completely different person over the next years. I am talking about a deep fundamental change. Not petty surface-level stuff. I am tired of all the BS and now at 30 years old with all the experience and learning i've had i am ready to go to the next level. I have finally accepted the Call of the Hero's Journey and i am living the best period of my life the last 1 month. It's really incredible how much better life can get.

My objective spiritually is to become as conscious as humanly possible.

My objective work wise is to become a world class programmer and eventually start my own business which improves peoples health & well-being.

I am already implementing some major changes in my life like daily walking, daily reviewing my top 10 values, daily watching high-quality videos, daily programming work & daily reading.

Problem is that i push too hard and i get ego backlashes but now i pace myself better.

Anyways the purpose of this post, is to get some serious advice from other people who have gone through this transformation process. I am all ears.

Keep in mind that i want to focus more on Stage Orange stuff in this period of my life. I need more success in my life.

    12 hours ago, undeather said:

When you do your deep & fast breaths, the arteries in your head will constrict  (=vasoconstriction), which is a normal physiological response. Now imagine we put your head in a f-MRI machine and measure the blood volume in your brain while you are doing the exercise. We would notice that the amount of total blood volume is actually not decreasing as much as the increase in vasoconstriction would indicate - that's only possible if the blood flow slows down in general and this has some very important impact on oxygenation. As your arteries narrow, your ICP (intracranial pressure aka the pressure in your skull) goes down - we know that a sudden decrease in ICP can cause symptoms like light-headedness and even euphoria.

This is pretty advanced physiology - most doctors would have no clue about it. It's not important to understand, really :P

Your body doesn't need concious control. All vital, vegetative functions like breathing,  digesting, even urination etc.  work completely on their own and don't need any kind of deliberate interference. Most of the day, breathing just happens in the background and you dont even notice it for the most part. However, self-conciousness allows some top-down control: Let's imagine you could hold your breath until you pass out. That would be a "concious overwrite" over the mostly unconcious drive to breathe. The body would send you signals like air hunger - but you could definitely fight against those. At some point however, you will shut down and go unconcious - as soon as this happens, automatic vegetative functions will regain control and your body will breathe at exactly the speed & intensity it needs. If you would not faint, you could pontentially hold your breath until you suddenly drop dead. That wouldn't be very smart, right? So in that context, fainting is a safety mechanism that keeps "you" from killing yourself!

Equalizing gravitational forces means that your heart always has to pump blood UP your brain, which is at the highest point of your body. So it needs to pump hard enough so it can overcame gravitational forces which exert a downwards pull. When you pass out, you usually end up flat on the floor. This means that there are no more gravitational forces to overcome and it's easier for your body to distribute blood.

Let's imagine you visit a BJJ-class and the beautiful female instructor puts you in a chokehold and starts to squeeze really hard. This would cut off the main blood supply from your brain and result in an abrupt decrease in blood pressure above the choking point. In your brain & throat there are sensors that would register such drop in blood pressure and activate the saftey mechanism: which is you pass out! Your brain doesn't know you are getting chocked. It registers a "low blood"-situation and wants equalize as fast as possible. This does not mean however, that you are lacking oxygen - the lack of oxygen is not the cause for you going unconcious.

    just Incredible....!!!

So what you mean is that deep breathing results in lower oxygen levels in the brain but not in a significant & dangerous way? I don't quite understand this part.

What if you do deep breathing without any breatholds? Are the breathholds really necessary?

What if i want to do 30 deep breaths and then stop & just breath normally? Is that okay too?

    Thank you.
