You have to look at it objectively, from an absolute POV. From an absolute POV feeling terrible is no better or worse than feeling good. The very notion of better or worse does not exist at the absolute level.

How you feel about a thing does not mean anything in the absolute sense.

Why is that the case though? I don't understand.

You say that from an absolute POV feeling terrible is no better or worse than feeling good.

I guess when you use the term ''better'' or ''worse'' you are talking about desirability.

  2. Leo says that:

    Quote

You're avoiding realizing that there is no difference between anything. You are avoiding infinite selflessness because if you realized that there is no difference between anything, it wouldn't matter anything that happened to you.

Also he defines this as what Love is... But If there is no reason between anything, then why does Leo create a 2 hour long video talking about the importance of Truth and how avoiding Truth will lead to a miserable life?

This doesn't make much sense to me when all of Leo's work is devoted to help people reach higher levels of joy, happiness, success, truth & etc. It's basically all about creating the good life.

This quote sounds nice in theory but in my direct experience there is a huge difference between a lot of stuff

  3. Leo says:

    Quote

Even suffering and death & disease, these are things that are arbitrary biases that you have and there is no reason why you should have them or that you should act in accordance with those biases.

    I really don't understand this. I don't get it.

Why am i biased against being tortured by some Mexican drug cartel for hours? Because it automatically feels awful, terrible. It's something beyond a mere preference. It's biology.

Something feels terrible just because it feels terrible. And therefore you automatically don't want it, don't like it, don't prefer it.  That is the bottom line, in my opinion.

Why am i biased towards a certain temperature? Because it automatically feels good and pleasant.

Something feels good just because it feels good.

Certain biases can be more fluid and changeable. But other biases are more concrete and just a part of reality, part of biology.

She didn't respond because she doesn't know. She implicitly admitted that she doesn't know. That's pretty admirable.

Making up crap about death is what most people do.

    ____

You cannot judge people's development by their verbal responses. You should look at their behaviours, impulses, actions, world views and abilities. That's a much better scale for assessing their development. That's why I harshly judged her for feeding junk food to kids. That's much worse than believing in God.

Verbal responses are at best some vague pointers. You cannot really judge much from a few answers.

I have met some real animals today. This mother would look like an angel compared to them.

I don't agree. Her mind probably didn't even go that far to conclude that she doesn't know.

She dismissed the question and gave a quick nonsensical response. She didn't even think for 1 second what I asked her. That would take too much effort for her.

You can definitely tell someones development by the responses he/she gives you.

To be fair to her, these responses are not that bad.

You really need to see low consciousness people who live in close connection to the jungle to see how much underdeveloped they can be. This mother isn't that bad.

    1. She didn't make up some bullshit about death.

    2. She believed in God.

    That's totally fine.

Feeding junk foods to kids is such a bad habit, but again she is in a culture that does that.

Her response about death was bs. She didn't even respond to my question.

Since they are a reflection of ourselves, you should consider why does it bother you really? Aren’t you accepting something about yourself? Even when I encounter “low conscious” people, I accept them, we all dealing with our stuff, traumas, etc. So a lot of compassion is needed.

Yes i agree. I try to be compassionate and understanding as much as possible.

But I think it is inevitable that we are gonna get hurt emotionally to some degree by the stupidity of others.

It bothers me mainly because I do not understand why some people behave the way they do..

  7. There is an obese greek mother who has 3 children and uploads content on YouTube.

I stumbled on her content few months ago, and I was watching it mainly for curiosity/understanding & entertainment reasons.

For example, it was interesting to watch her reactions, when other people negatively criticized her for feeding her children a lot of junk food..

One of her responses was that the children will eventually get bored of this junk food as they grow older........ & also she doesn't want her children to be jealous of other kids at school who are eating junk food............

Anyways today I saw that she was live streaming and I entered the stream.

I asked her 2 simple questions and I got two extremely low consciousness responses...

1st question was if she believed in God. Her response was "what kind of question is this?? Of course yes"....

2nd question was what did she believe happens when people die. Her response was "what kinda of question is this? they die. "

.......... These two extremely bad responses made me realize more how underdeveloped most people are.

My problem is that I expect everyone to be as developed as myself (I do not claim to be super developed either, I guess I am the high end of conventional stage).

Many people do not seem to care at all about metaphysical questions... And they react badly when you ask them such questions.. They are super quick to dismiss you for some reason..

I got annoyed by these stupid replies and I don't understand why she replied with this manner.

    Maybe someone can enlighten me.

Do you have a source for that Judson Brewer statement?
I highly doubt that he would say the whole class of psychiatric drugs has a 20% success rate on average.
That would be a ridicolous cliam. Different medications with different indications have all different outcomes.

    urn_cambridge.org_id_binary_20180518103517715-0063_S0007125000257565_S0007125000257565_tab2.gif

There are many potential modalities in psychiatry beside drugs (psychotherapy, EMDR, light therapy, movement-therapy, ECT...)
Psychodelics knocking on the door of the mainstream as well.

It "zombifies" SOME people - yes. On the other hand, I think the internet often distorts how well some patients do on psychiatric drugs.
It's a sampling bias. Those with terrible side effects are getting most of the attention while a large majority is doing fine.

Judson Brewer talks about the number needed to treat which according to him is 1 in 5. You can watch videos about him on YouTube. I really don't know the full details. But the videos below are really mind boggling.

Well, I mean the reason psychiatrists are giving out pharmaceuticals left and right is because they work.
Not for everyone and defintiely not all the time - but in general, this is obviously the case.

That said, psychiatric drugs are propably one of the most side effect prone substances known in modern medicine.
Most of the drugs I perscribe as an internal medicine doctor, like statins or antihypertensives, are magnitudes below the side effect profile of your average antipsychotic.

This is why good patient education is important and even ethically indicated.

Psychiatric drugs work on average for 1 to 5 people according to Judson Brewer.

Another reason they prescribe these drugs is because that's their only solution under the materialist paradigm.

It's really sad when you see people zombiefied and all messed up because of this line of treatment.

I'm not against these medications. But it shouldn't be the only tool used.

The psychiatrist should have educated you about this extremely common side effect.
Bad experiences like this shape peoples distrust in the modern medical system, and that's a problem.

Most psychiatrists here in Greece, prescribe medications carelessly like candies without giving any warnings.

That's what they have been trained to do basically. Anytime you got an issue, immediately here is a drug for it.

A friend of mine has gotten all messed up because of medications he takes.

It seems that many, if not most of these psychiatric drugs, solve one problem, only to cause another one.

  11. Leo, you're an intelligent man who ingests various chemicals and sometimes unknown chemicals to most people.

This all seems like an oxymoron to me..

I'm not personally judging you. Quite the opposite. I kinda admire this fearlessness about you (I know you're probably super careful too).

I am genuinely trying to understand your thought process regarding ingesting various compounds.

You could have played it really safe and only took the traditional well-known psychedelics and never messed with the newer stuff.

I have tried only mushrooms, Lsa, LSD, & dmt. But I really want to explore other psychedelic compounds as well.

Fear is holding me back from trying other psychedelics.

@SQAAD Have you tried cannabis indica before sleeping? The antipsychotics are horribles, and benzodiazepines are effective but you have to dose more quickly because it's more a "physical" relaxer than a mental one, if you know what I mean.

    Now I can sleep well.

I am not a smoker any more. And cannabis is super addictive for me.

Benzos are not addictive though (for me) . I never abused them. They are not to be used longer than 1 month.

If you take Benzos for sleep you can just take 1 pill before sleep and it does the job. That's what I did. Lorazepam has a long half life. Other Benzos have shorter half life.

Because they have no experience actually curing the problem. The people who you should seek out are does who have suffered the same problem as you and who have results curing it. The rest of completely lost in guessing games.

The funny thing with all these psychiatrists.. is that they are so eager to prescribe you medications without warning you about the downsides, while themselves they usually haven't taken any of the medications.

They usually haven't been the ones being prescribed and suffered from medications. That's why they do not care too much.

This is important I’m glad you mention, And sometimes they don’t even know of some of the side effects themselves.

For example I have some damage on my teeth that is usually caused by drinking excess soda and other acidic stuff. But I’ve never done that in any significant way in my life .Actually I’ve never liked carbonated drinks in particular ever in my life.  When I was a young child a had epilepsy and was put on strong medication for 5 years and I did my research and found studies, one of them with my exact medication,  showing they causing damage on children’s teeth sigh….

    Interesting story.

You cannot completely trust doctors or any human for that matter.

  15. Read carefully my story so the same pattern does not happen to you.

A month ago I experienced an unexpected drastic shift in Consciousness. This lead to drastic changes in my life.

The changes were too much I think for my system, because I could not sleep more than 2-3 hours per day.(Physically I was feeling fine though).

This made me seek professional help. A group of psychiatrists (3 of them) prescribed me Olanzopine & Lorazepam. One of the doctors told me that you'll sleep very well with these medications.

Problem is that he didn't warn me about the side effects.

I've had experience with Lorazepam but I had no clue about Olanzopine. And I made the mistake of not researching enough of the drug. Maybe because I knew I wasn't willing to take the medication more than a month..

Anyways.. After 1-2 weeks I began noticing my weight increasing. After 3 weeks I had incredible uncontrollable urges to overeat carbohydrates and I noticed that even when I was eating like 10 egg whites & including other protein sources I was not getting full no matter what... This was so frustrating and caused me enormous misery....

Finally after doing my research I found that Olanzopine is a drug notoriously known to cause incredible weight gain. Like 40-80 pounds weight gain. Serious serious stuff..

This drug blocks histamine receptors in your brain and thus blocking your satiety signal.

Moreover I've found that while on this drug, my Consciousness was lowered and I was less intelligent. These anti psychotic medications lower your Consciousness while on them.

Now I've discontinued the medications and I feel much sharper.

I take 100% responsibility because I was too fearful/stupid to research the potential side effects. But these psychiatrists didn't warn me about this. This is very distressing.....

  16. I've been prescribed lorazepam and olanzopine at night, to get more hours of sleep.

Soon I'll be off the  medications.

I'm thinking about doing a 3 day water only fast. I have successfully done fasts before so I have some experience and know what to expect. BTW I love fasting. Its so much easier than dieting.

This is an opportunity for me to do the fast now. Also with the medication I will be sleeping a lot better while fasting.

Can I do a 3 day water fast while on these medications??

    What @Leo Gura said...

But if you have sleeping problems then maybe modafinil isn't the best idea for now.
I can't say it's safe for you but they indeed have opposite effects on the CNS; I imagine they could cancel eachother out somewhat.

I also recommend you come up with a plan to slowly reduce the dosage of the benzodiazepines (preferably with your doctor). Then you won't have this problem anymore. If you have sleeping problems I suggest you could also look into Yoga Nidra (here's an interesting book: https://www.amazon.com/Nidra-Re-print-Swami-Satyananda-Saraswati/dp/8185787123/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=yoga+nidra&qid=1691847894&sr=8-2

I've made significant & rapid changes in a very short time and had an awakening . This resulted in me sleeping only 3 hours a day. I didn't have problems going to sleep though.

I was just full of energy almost all the time. My body for some reason wasn't letting me sleep more.

That's why I was prescribed these drugs to sleep more hours.

I'm very careful about using them strategically like I have in the past.

And yes even the doctor told me that soon we're gonna come off the benzos.

I don't wish to be dependent on any drug and I respect these drugs very much.

I believe benzos are great drugs if used for 1-2 months very very sparingly. If used for more than 2-6 months, then you really get dependent and its no good. Also if you use them for like 6 months it can be dangerous to come off.

I've used benzos once before . I took Valium at low doses for a month straight. Then stopped with zero issues whatsoever.

I believe these drugs could be used strategically in super difficult times for a short period of time with no issues.
