  1. freedom from mental and psychological pain?
  2. @Joseph MaynorAlmost seen as a deep murky description of enlightenment. What about freedom?
  3. For a good while I was unaware I had adopted the belief thoughts are "bad". I had been subtly resisting certain thoughts as I felt they were pointless, bad, or a hindrance to Enlightenment. Holding this belief not only seemed to breed negative thought patterns but rigidity/strictness, or a seriousness in my persona. Why would i think i could control my thoughts? But where do they come from and why do i tend to identify with them? Like many here I have been curious and determined to understand the AWAKENING PROCESS and what it may entail. I would like to share/discuss some information I came across in a Teal Swan video the other day. I recommend watching! Takeaways: Thought is just another one of our senses. It is a reaction of external stimuli and must match our frequency of vibration. Teal describes how a part of awakening is the expansion of all your other senses (tasting color, seeing sound, etc). And that the mind can be used as a mechanism for awakening. Viewing thought as being another one of our senses what does this mean for the way we experience reality? Please share your thoughts
  4. @Haumea2018 Awesome! appreciate this @Jack Riverbut Jack...my mind isn't that simple! Oh wait that's just another thought! Maybe it is
  5. @Jack River @SgtPepper Thank you! So a higher awareness breeds less arising thoughts? Does the compulsion of needing to think in order to achieve a desired outcome (subtle-fear conditioning?) fade away with surrender to being?
  6. @Haumea2018Would you say the more awakened someone is the less thoughts arise? @Jack Riverfragmentation = identification with thoughts = psychological time?
  7. in order to kill the ninja, you must first become the ninja
  8. Is it not hard to let go of the continuous loop? Sometimes dat 13itch got me f@!#!$# up.
  9. @Leo GuraHmph those just look like words to me btw I love thoughts, possibly a little too much!
  10. As a guy I can attest, most, if when following our primal instincts, will have sex with any human with a vaggg However i feel you are looking for desire. Oh what your mind must be telling you! Why let your mind be your biggest critique when you can push it to be your best friend? How can anyone else ever expect to love and desire you if you don't first love and desire yourself?
  11. @Feel Good@SerotoninluvI recently experienced this or something similar at a party a few weeks ago. I think part of me was "trying" not to judge myself and others. For me these phrases come to mind: Relinquish the illusion of control acceptance/surrender = freedom (not trying to preach i swear) just some reflective thoughts
  12. Hahaha I feel you! I believe we may have very similar personalities. I've only had one trip on shrooms and it was a "bad" one (had never been so afraid), but became a very good life-transforming wake up call I hope you keep exploring this ability and maybe share at some point!
  13. You must have quite an openness about you. Those overwhelming emotions are not easy to detach from. How do you feel about seeing or maybe understanding you and they are not those emotions but pure consciousness? Have you experimented with this?
  14. @Feel GoodI don't like butting into these things but does it matter? Are your assumptions necessary?
  15. Interesting! I imagine for you it was not always desirable to share the emotions of others? It reminds me of some Eckhart Tolle story i heard a while back about how he was defusing the frustrating emotions of someone else or maybe helping them release their resistance to express. Being an empath myself (i think ha) I am not sure about all the details but that's cool!
  16. perhaps, what is so common in learning new skills is very subtle fear Wouldn't it be something to see a fully enlightened individual perform a sport to perfection without any practice Ha yeah! I have played soccer my entire life and developed such an ego from it I had to quit at one point. I did break through this mental block and have been experimenting with this "flow" state every since. What is interesting is I have started questioning my intentions before deciding to play in any particular soccer game. If my mind is not right it is pointless to go participate
  17. Once thoughts interrupt this "flow" state, It is very easy to lose it completely
  18. I have heard enlightened people speak of it like Tolle. And I have "experienced" it. Possibly it takes many hours of practice to reach the pure state. Not only am i detached from identity/thought-self, but become an observer of my body. Understanding I am one with everyone else participating in my sport. As a surfer I would imagine it would be you and the ocean/wave being one, one and the same
  19. @Jack RiverYou do not feel the state of "flow" in sports borders the "awakened" state? Muscle memory does not require any thought processes I feel "flow" is exactly this....complete detachment from self (no fears, no objectives, detachment from outcome, and no other thoughts) possible in all creative activities
  20. @SOULMaybe you are right. "Understanding is pointless if you can't do it". I still enjoy the demonstration of what is being understood from their pov and am learning a great deal about what it takes Ultimately it may not help bring full awareness but you wont see "me" thinking i am headless until I am indeed seeing clearly (holistic understanding of what is) much to be appreciated here ?
  21. @Nahm thought that looked out of place! You cheeky devil! How dare you throw a funny into that sort of context Maybe you'd like to be awarded some warning points
  22. I recently heard these two phrases and I am not sure if there is a difference. My thoughts are "true desire" is not really a desire but more of a "knowing" (feeling) without any projected outcome. Would anyone care to elaborate or share their understanding?
  23. @SamraDoes this mean there is no actual transcendence of the ego? Or maybe I am mistaken and there is no such thing as an ego
  24. @Haumea2018"natural" haha love it thanks dude. I have seriously been mixing the two up for some time now thinking i shouldn't desire questioning my own motives. @Nahm unconditional desire, interesting! I prefer a quick fix, instant gratification, but you know...it just never lasts cheers Nahm @Martin123 authentic creation or expression, because that's just what it is! YES
