Life Coaching FAQ

Q: What if I pay for coaching and don't see any benefit?

A: Although a coach can't promise that you'll make more money or lose 50 lbs (for obvious reasons), coaching is not like therapy. You should see tangible benefits within just a few sessions. Take advantage of the free initial session and remember that you have a full money-back guarantee on the first two paid sessions.

Q: How many coaching sessions do I need?

A: It depends on your challenge(s). I recommend a mental commitment for at least 3 months of coaching. Although you should see progress and value in every session, it takes time to make significant life changes and build new habits.

Q: Am I a good candidate for coaching?

A: Generally speaking, if you're mentally stable and functional you are a good coaching candidate. The initial free session will be used to evaluate your suitability as a paid coaching client.

Q: Can I get coaching every other week, or once a month, as opposed to weekly?

A: Weekly coaching sessions are ideal because you have enough time to complete assignments between sessions but the sessions aren't spaced out so much that you lose track of our work. I generally don't work with clients who cannot commit to 1 session per week.

Q: What does your CPC credential mean exactly?

A: It means I have been accredited as a Certified Professional Coach by IPEC. This accreditation requires over 200 hours of training and exams. It doesn't guarantee that someone is a great coach, but at least ensures basic competency. IPEC is one of the top coaching programs in the country.

Q: Do you coach couples?

A: No, but I'm happy to coach one of the couple on relationship issues.

Q: Do you coach kids or adolescents?

A: No, I generally coach clients 20+

Q: Can you coach someone undergoing therapy?

A: Sure, as long as you are mentally stable and I see that you will benefit from coaching.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?

A: I accept payment through Paypal using any major credit card.

Q: When is payment made?

A: Excluding the free initial session, all payment for coaching sessions must be made prior to the session taking place.

Q: Do you take medical insurance?

A: No. Very few, if any, insurance policies cover coaching.

Q: Do you coach other coaches?

A: Although I am not a qualified Mentor Coach, I'm happy to work with coaches on non-coaching issues. I'm not interested in teaching coaches how to coach. There are many excellent programs for that.

Q: Can I reschedule my appointment time?

A: Yes, but please respect my time and tell me as soon as possible in advance.

Q: What happens if I miss a session?

A: I understand that life can be hectic sometimes. I don't charge for a missed session but if you are consistently missing sessions you run the risk of being dropped as a client.

Q: What happens if I don't follow through on an assignment or don't do what I said I was going to do?

A: You will be whipped! Just kidding ;) Coaching is not about policing or punishment. Failure to complete an assignment shows a deeper problem at work. This a great opportunity for us to explore your motivations and priorities.
